Big O Tires - Quote for tires and shocks

On 3/5/2020, I went to Big O near me where I always get my oil changed. Don Nylund assisted me, and I left the car to get the oil changed, I returned to find that my back two tires had bubbles in the sidewalls and were from 2014 (this car is a 2005 Ford Focus with 71000 miles on it that sat in an elderly lady's yard till my dad bought it for me with 59000 miles last year so I agree that the back tires needed replacement. Don quoted me $240 for basic nothing special tires and told me I needed NEW SHOCKS also, but to focus on the tires as "they could blow anytime". I am disabed and live on a fixed income. I told him my son worked down the street at Insane Power and I wanted to check with him first. He started prompting me to call him asap but I will not be bullied and I told Don to put the old tires back on and I'd drive down the street to see my son who works on race car engines. Don kept impressing how dangerous the 2014 tires were, that I was lucky I hadn't had a blow out yet on the freeway, yada, yada, yada.I went to see my son and he called Discount tire where I was quoted $160 for two back inexpensive tires, and Walmart where I was quoted $148 for basic tires. Now I am a female and feel like because I am not anatomically the same as a man that your rep must think I am stupid about cars.A car that sat undriven for as many years as this car had also shouldn't need shocks. This was confirmed at Insane Power and Walmart that my shocks were fine. In fact, one person even pointed out what I already knew and that is because I am a woman I am an automatic target for upselling. This is an appalling practice and trying to scare me into getting the tires done right then (which he impressed I do), I am somewhat familiar with cars and, knew I was being taken for a ride by trying to overcharge me for tires and upsell me on shocks. I have been getting both our cars oil changes for years at this location, but rest assured I'll pay more elsewhere and will no longer patronize your business. It is outrageous that because "I am not a man" that I know nothing about cars. If nothing else, I know to get a second opinion. To put it in perspective, the mechanic at Insane Power stated "yeah the guy who told you that you needed new shocks can suck my nuts". Your company sickens me.
