I have an iPad pro version 3 that my husband in or around [protected]. We had cellular service on it and after a year or so I canceled the service. Fast forward to March of this year 2026 I tried to get new service and found out that the iPad was still Carrier locked by AT&T. I have gone through all the requests to get it unlocked and been denied. I have had it reviewed and it still is denied. My husband passed away last year and I have no access to any account history and I don't know what number was assigned to the iPad as it is not a number I ever used for anything and it is not saved in the iPad. After the last review I was told by the technical specialist that I should ask Apple to request the unlock. I tried that and Apple cannot request an unlock for a customer only the carrier can. I am completely frustrated. I don't understand why AT&T cannot unlock it's own device. It was paid for years ago and has always been in my possession.
Please note I tried to upload a photo showing it is locked by AT&T but the site gives an upload error.
Desired outcome: For my iPad to be unlocked.
