Aspen Dental review: All glitz no ethics

Went to Aspen Dental after moving to new area and it felt like I was being herded through a cattle pen ready for slaughter. All the latest equipment and smiles everywhere as they ushered me from one staff member to another. My head was spinning as was my husband's. Dentist extolled his qualifications as I made sure they knew I had had a really bad experience in the past and was particular with qualifications. After all the examinations, I was ushed to someone to sign me up, go over estimated costs, and next appointment.
When I came to the next appointment, not only did I NOT see the same dentist who had extoled his qualifications but was handed off to the JV Team. JV Team was NOT covered by my dental plan. I found out that my Dental Plan did NOT approve the procedures performed as those had been done less than 1 year before. I was NEVER informed about that or I would not have had the work performed. The dental hygienist was also not covered under my insurance because she follows the dentist she works for. So, I also had to pay for imaging done that was not covered again until 2027. Again...no one there checked to see what and when my insurance covered and when, AND therefore never gave me the opportunity to decline services until the appropriate time frame IF needed. I don't care how friendly and smiley they are...they owe it to their patients to check to see what their insurance will cover at the time anything is done, NOT after the fact. They are suppose to be professionals, not rip off artists and opportunists.
