I was given a full dental plan priced more than $6,500 for an implant. I was told it was an estimate, so I expected some smaller charges if needed but I did not expect the estimate to be more than $1,000 off. I specifically stated that I was not willing to pay more than the additional $300 that I paid at the 1st treatment visit. The next visit they said I owed an additional $500 - I again told them that I was not willing to pay that bill and would like to discontinue services if I was going to be charged anything additional including the $500. They waived the $500 so I continued treatment. AT the next visit I was told I had another $764 bill. I told them that I am not paying that bill as I was specific that I was not willing to continue treatment if any further bills were rendered. I put a complaint in with the NY DA Health Care Bureau and the Better Business Bureau. In addition, the dentist chipped the perfectly good tooth next to the implant offered to give me a free cap but I was not willing to chance another issue - that alone should be enough to waive this ridiculous additional overcharged bill.
Claimed loss: $764 expected to be paid - I did not pay this bill.
Desired outcome: Drop the $764 bill
