Class action lawsuit against aspen dental forming
Within the first 3 days of posting the notice alerting consumers about the formation of a class action lawsuit against aspen dental, there has been an overwhelming response from angry patients wishing to participate in this action.
To answer the question posed by many frustrated patients – yes, aspen has designed its patient service department to effectively diffuse your isolated complaints; this is why you will never successfully receive any justice from aspen dental when presented as an individual complaint. But, aspen cannot evade and will be held accountable to the thousands of angry patients who are collectively unified under this large and comprehensive class action lawsuit.
With the high volume of feedback and interest in participating in this class action lawsuit, we are requesting that in your email you identify your complaint as being in one of the three following categories:
1. Dental malpractice – in which you have been physically injured by their dental “care. ”
2. Consumer fraud – includes cases in which office personnel of aspen dental used high pressure sales tactics designed to take your money with false promises of providing competent dental health care.
3. Combination of malpractice and consumer fraud.
To respond to one of the most frequently asked questions: yes, you can remain anonymous!
When you email the description of your complaint for inclusion in this action, simply request that we assign you a confidential identity.
As a new patient, a reasonable person would not expect aspen dental to take unfair advantage of a dental problem – after all, they are considered to be a healthcare facility; however, when you sit down with the office manager to discuss your dental treatment plan it becomes clear that your money, not your health, is aspen's primary objective. The job of the aspen office manager is to force you into accepting the most costly and extensive dental work possible. This is termed “conversion” and is against the law.
To respond to another frequently asked question - yes, aspen dental rewards its employees with financial bonus incentives for exceeding monthly production goals. This bonus system is based upon aspen's internal use of “metrics” which pressures each office to compete against other aspen offices. Unfortunately, since aspen’s management team is composed of individuals whose background is in “consumer retail” – not in healthcare - they operate the dental care facility as a retail business in which you are not viewed as a patient - instead, you are simply a paying customer. Aspen dental’s motto is: “to create a happy, paying patient. ” but, unfortunately once you pay, you quickly discover that you are not happy.
This class action lawsuit will effectively make aspen dental accountable for their acts through the unified and coherent voice of thousands of patients who have been wrongfully injured by aspen dental.
This class action lawsuit will channel thousands of patient complaints into a collectively powerful force which will finally stop aspen. Your participation in this class action lawsuit will not cost you any money - the legal services are free to you. And, you may be entitled to receive money as compensation for your loss and suffering.
To participate, please direct your questions and interest to ted bleckstein, dds, ms at: dr. [protected]@gmail.com

I am looking into joining this! They did what appears to be good work but pushed an expensive tooth brush on me in a time of great pain. Root canal was a 5 or 6 visit process. Then the bill had double charges and other irregularities. Still looking into what they did.

I would like to join the class action lawsuit. I wish I had of known this prior to going to the office in Alton, Ill. I went to the dental office to have my crowns replaced. They let an unlicensed person place 2 temporary crowns in my mouth. This person was horrible. First it took him so long. He was unsupervised. He put the temporary crown in my mouth and he drilled, therefore the result of the drilling was all in my mouth. I told him they felt like they were burning and he said "I will be done in a second". He said you can just swallow them it, it's okay. There was no one present to rinse and suction my mouth while he was drilling. After a while this guy put the drill and the air water spring to rinse it out my self. He did not place anything underneath my chin in order to catch the drilling results, they ended up all over my chest. After 4- 4 1/2 hours I left the office, ate and one temporary crown came right out. I got home and read and found out no one but the dentist should use a drill in a patients mouth. I called the dental office and complained about the temporary coming right out and the experience I had. I asked for my money back and was refused. I refuse to go back to that dentist because I felt like I was used for this guy to gain experience since I was told he was in school to be a dentist. I spoke to Nicky( who said she was the office manager and Emily ( who also said she is an office manager. Emily told me the guy was a graduate dentist who is board certified who has not been mailed his license as yet.(this didn't make sense to me) . They also told me that I needed an 800.00 cleaning procedure in which I was told by a second dentist, that the cleaning was not necessary. These people need to be put out of business before they seriously harm someone.

I went to have two teeth removed, they advised me that i needed my remaing six removed, two of which had post and crowns, paid upfront 2620.00 up front, for extractions and a lower denture. The dentist broke the two that had crowns, so i had bone slivers that over the next several months co tinued to erupt through gums. They tried to fit me with the denture they made but the girl kept grinding pieces off trying to make it fit. It was finally trashed cause she said there wasnt enough of it left to work. She reschduled my impression for anoher one, however the bone silvers kept erupting, at one point the dentist even sent me home with deadening stuff so i could pull them out myself. It is now five months later, still have no denture and they are wanting to charge me another 503.00 for a denture because they said i already recieved one. Which is a lie, i would be wearing it, if i had it. The office manager megan, kept repeating that i recieved it. However, i did not. She wasnt there for the initial visits. So i paid 1299.00 for the FLD immed classic, that i never recieved.they have a sign, if not happy with denture full refund. I never recieved one to say i was happy with it or not. But im not paying 503.00 more for another one when j didnt get the first one but they got my money for denture i didnt recieve.total ripoff, and the manager very condensending. They have a racket going on. They also tried to sell me on fiancing through them at 28 percent interest.but i paid in full so i wouldnt have to worry about it. Someone needs to put these people out of business so they cant pry on people. This happened at the Austell Ga location.

I had several complaints against a dentist in Texas on March 12, 2019.  I turned him in to the Texas State Board of Dentist. They will investigate the complaints.  It is free to file complaints.  "The Mission of the Texas Board of Dental Examiners is to protect the public health and safety and promote high quality and safe dental care." If a dentist is found guilty the board can place a dentist on probation, revoke, or suspend a dentist license. The Board of Dentist can take disciplinary action on all dentist, and help you get your money back. The dentist have ethical code of laws they have to follow. We need to stop these dentist from ripping us off and doing unprofessional dental work. Go to your state board of dental examiners web page today. Please do not wait. They will do the investigation for you for free. If a lot of people write to the board of dentist (or file a complaint online) then this will help their case. A lot of people filing a similar complaint and no one know each other, that is like having a lot of witnesses. Please file a complaint today . Copy the complaint you made here to the board of dentist examiners complaint page. Once the State Board of Dentist finds a dentist guilty of violations of the code of ethics, then you should take that to your attorney to proceed further. When my investigation is complete I will post my story and results.

I'd like to join the class action suit if possible. I was scammed like everyone else. Their website had stellar reviews and I trusted them- mistake! After it was too late I realized and discovered all the real complaints! The dentist/owner
was supposed to talk to me about prepping for a crown. When I arrived for the appointment he looked at another crowned tooth and said I had large decay in the tooth which wasn't even bothering me. He took an xray which looked normal. After questioning he said he can see and feel the decay in my mouth. He then probed so deep and hard that my crown came off. I never got it back.( BTW to jump ahead a little I later found out there was NO DECAY!) Back to Aspen-- I had already forwarded all my previous xrays to them but the dentist denied receiving them and forced me to take several more. In addition, I had to make a down payment before scheduling for the crown which I was supposed to be there for ; when I showed up at the appointment the other dentist saw me and after asking her to fit it properly against the opposing tooth(because my bite was off) she said she couldn't do that and refused to treat me. She said I'd have to reschedule with the other dentist. She then left me in the chair, saying she'd be right back to talk to me. Instead, she saw another patient and left me waiting for 45 minutes. I kept asking the dental assistant if she could briefly speak to me before finishing with her other patient but he said I'd have to wait. She finally came back and said the same thing- she couldn't treat me. At this point I said that I didn't feel comfortable with their practice and wouldn't be returning. They promised me a refund and after 2 weeks they issued the check in my ex-husband's name and for a smaller amount than I had paid. When I contacted them the manager said she couldn't guarantee the correct amount of my refund. Also I was charged for an exam that never took place. This corporate practice should be shut down asap! Definitely want to join a lawsuit.

I had no idea the nightmare we were in for. Over three months, and first set of dentures were so oversize, my husband could hardly close his mouth, kept biting his lips and drooling all over the place. finally, they agreed that they needed to do a second pair - unbelieveable the shoddy work on the second pair Paid $2478.40 for a set of dentures, that keep falling out of his mouth and now going on over three months working with these people.

We've tried to email excellent pics of the dentures, but all email links come back, , because we aren't handing over these dentures until an attorney sees them - read a post about them "hanging on to the evidence, " to make it really hard to sue them, so when this is settled, they'll get their shoddy dentures back bubble wrapped and in certified mail to verify they got them. You can clearly see by the pics that the tech filed off too much on the bottom denture thus ruining it after the first adjustment. The top is patched with a pinhole visible - these things tear my husband's gums and tongue to pieces! We paid for a set of dentures that keep falling out of his mouth, now, going on over three months working with these people.

We've tried to email excellent pics of the dentures, but there's not an email link, available that doesn't come back, , because we aren't handing over this mess until an attorney sees them - read a post about them "hanging on to the evidence, " to make it really hard to sue them, so when this is settled, they'll get their shoddy dentures back bubble wrapped and in certified mail to verify they got them.

You can clearly see by the pics that the tech filed off too much on the bottom denture thus ruining it, and the top is patched - wide area, and granules can be scratched off the patch behind the front teeth with a pinhole visible - these things tear my husband's gums and tongue to pieces! Notice the first one on the left, juts out to the right, so didn't fit, and the bottom denture doesn't have enough of a groove on the left side to even put a bead of adhesive, so they keep falling out. The one on the far right is a pic old old denture that our son used heavy duty glue to hold them together after they broke - ten year old dentures, and first time we've had a problem with them - see the difference in the new bottom denture. Was not able to upload the picture of the two comparisons between the old and the new.

The Valparaiso Indiana office has not been a good experience for me. They talked me into getting dentures, and the most expensive, the ComfiDents. These are not comfortable, and they don't fit right. I have to re-apply the denture cream at least 4 times a day. The labels on the denture creams (which I have spent a small fortune trying to find one that works) say that if you have to re-apply the denture cream the dentures don't fit right. EVERY TYPE I HAVE TRIED HAS THIS PRINTED ON THE BOX. When I go to the dental office, I get brushed off, and told the dentures do fit right. They will however re-line them, but I will have to pay for the re-lining. I don't want to pay for something I have already paid for. They conveniently "forgot" to tell me that if I wasn't happy with my dentures that I could return them within 90 days for a refund. I will go to another office and pay someone else to do the work on these, hoping that it will be done right.

I went to aspen dental because they were a preferred provider for my ins. I went to get teeth cleaned and a tooth pulled. they charged me 1300.00 for a teeth cleaning and medication put in between my teeth. they put it on a dental chg. or we can do the cleaning today they want to get it done before you leave and think about it. she gave me a mouth rinse that cost 30.00 also tried to get me to buy a tooth brush I told them I didn't need it. I had 3 pages of charges. I think it is the biggest scam ever. never would I go back. they might have got me once they will not get me twice. I wonder what can be done to them. I just seen on tv about kool smiles sounds like the same as how aspen dental works. what can be done about this.

Charged for a treatment plan found out was over priced. Then they sent me to a oral surgeon who said I needed a root canal in which I did not need. Then pulled a healthy tooth. I had tooth pain for 6 months the first dentist I saw couldn't find any reason for the pain he said there was no bad teeth. So he sent me to oral surgeon. He suggested root canal well, you need to get prior authorization first that was going to take weeks, and I was in a lot of pain. Went back to AspenDental Clarksville TN they suggested pull the tooth something wasn't right with that but you try and put your trust in those how have knowledge. They pulled the tooth made the statement you'll should feel better now. Well that was not the case. Still had pain and it even got worst. I decided to get second opinion come to find out from another oral surgeon and dentist I have a severe over bite the hinges in my jaw are locking up so I need a mouth piece to help correct this(TMJ). There was no need for root canal or pulling any teeth.Aspen Dental charge me for root and scaling 2000.00 within this treatment plan was charges for future visits already charge and a toothbrush antibiotics for teeth missing. I spoke to one dentist 800 at the most should have been charged. Manager pushes cost on to you when I question why I'm I being charged for future visit she said the company requires us to do that. I'm on a set income they have took me to the cleaners.

I was quoted $79.00 as my cost, after insurance payment, for personal scaling/cleaning on all four quadrants. It was my first visit, in January 2018, and they had my insurance card, but never bothered to call or check, according to the insurance rep. I went in for my "periodontal work" which consisted of 30 minutes of scraping a few stains off my upper molars and a brief fluoride treatment. They charged my Care Credit card $905.00 for this non-service. It wasn't even a basic cleaning! Nothing! It was my word against theirs, and I am stuck with the $905.00 bill. I have never in my life had an experience like this with any dental provider. Truly, Aspen Dental is a fraudulent and predatory company. I don't know what my recourse is at this point.

I currently carry Cigna dental insurance and there are only 2 dental offices in my area that accept it, one being Aspen. I'd already been to the other dental office covered under my insurance plan but wasn't happy with their disorganization and zoo-like atmosphere, which brought me to Aspen. It should have sent up red flags when one of the first people I spoke with was someone in their finance department. After the initial x-rays and cleaning, I was told that I have deep pockets in my gums that would require special cleanings, of course at higher cost than regular cleanings. My cost was $1200, not including what was billed to the insurance company. That included the initial cleaning and one or two (I don't recall) follow-up cleanings and an electric toothbrush, all of which was paid in advance. Those "special" cleanings were also supposed to include fluoride, though I ended up receiving a $30 bill in the mail for the fluoride. Aspen's response was that my insurance didn't cover the fluoride treatment. I told them I wasn't going to pay it; I'd already paid them $1200; they should have specified that the fluoride wasn't covered under my insurance. (I can't be their only customer with Cigna dental insurance, as I'm a State employee, and Aspen should have known it wasn't covered.) They wrote off the bill, but needless to say, whoever the female was that I spoke with was a nasty #####. The two appointments following I was again given fluoride but no bills followed. As I checked out, the person in finance commented on the fluoride treatment, and I told her that the appointments had been paid in advance and if fluoride wasn't included, then the hygienist shouldn't have given it to me. I was only charged my $5 copay.
Since then, I still get the "special" cleanings, which cost me roughly $180 out-of-pocket, not including what is billed to my insurance. I've thought about getting a second opinion because, to be perfectly honest, I don't trust Aspen with my dental care.
I make sure to get an itemized bill and receipt, making sure my account is zeroed out after every appointment, but that is not a foolproof guarantee that I won't have some type of outstanding balance at my next appointment, as evidenced by my last visit a week ago. They told me I had a $5 copay outstanding from 6 months ago, and when I asked the woman if I needed to provide the receipts stating that my account had been paid in full, she said that it must have been a charge not covered under my insurance. I call BS! She said that my address must have changed because I should have received a bill in the mail, and I told her that I'd been at the same address for 5 years. I told her she should get on the computer and read the Google reviews about their shady billing practices, and she didn't say another word. My concern was that this ridiculous $5 bill would go to collections, so rather than fight them on it, I paid the outstanding balance.
Since I pay with Care Credit, there is a $200 minimum, so I pay for the current appointment and a credit is kept on my account for my following appointment. It just seems that no matter what I pay this company, I ALWAYS owe them money!

As a college student, I do rely on my parents when it comes to procedures.
I thankfully have been incredibly healthy growing up and once it came to my wisdom teeth, I was desperate for relief!
Aspen was close to my job and "took" my insurance. I had two insurances and I still owed slightly under half of the pricetag of $3k. I was talked into going through with it, but I was conned by the "gingivitis" (which surprisingly never was an issue before or after visiting Aspen) and needed to come to multiple dentist appointments, their ORAL-B Toothbrush that also costs hundreds (they bill you LATER so you dont catch it.) and now they are asking for the original $3k to be paid. I had $800 left and unfortunately relied on my parents to finish the payments and they didnt. Now I KNOW that is on me, BUT I can NOT get anyone to call me or email me from my office to possibly negotiate or to even go over my options. Still waiting and then a letter from collections comes in. Their dispute center is way more helpful than my own local office! My question is WHY did it have to get there?! I am trying to get my remaining total back down so I can wipe clear of this debt and Aspen Dental all together.

Recently I went to Aspens Website to pay $50.00 on my account of $849.00 owed.I gave them my debit card no. Low and behold I went into my bank account and they deducted the whole amount of $849.00.That overdrew my account and the money that was in there was to pay my rent which was due in 4 days. This company is a total ripoff.
They also gave me a Quote for upper and lower dentures of $3500.00 that I had to pay.I paid the bill in full and then they gave me another bill for $849.00 saying that the first bill did not cover the lower partial. What kind of ripoff company is this?
The location I went to is in Port Richey, fl.I also had to go back many times for adjustments as they could never get it right and they are still wrong.

In 2012 I went to Aspen Dental to get dentures. The dentures I selected and completely paid for were the Comfilite model. After the temporary denture was done and it was a Comfilite there were a few adjustments but taken care of. Then the fitting for the permanent denture started. It was an experience I would never wish on anyone, at one visit to take the impressions the plate was filled with the compound which you have to put in your mouth and bite down on, after just a few seconds the roof of my mouth started to burn, I of course was unable to say anything till after the time had elapsed and it could be removed. The roof of my mouth was blistered and sore for days after. There were other nightmares of "treatment" which I won't detail but the bottom line is finally got the upper plate and not only wasn't the overbite which Dr instructed be adjusted, not done but the denture I got was not the Comfilite which my plan said I had contracted for. When this was pointed out to the assistant the comment I got was "just give it a try".
What I ended up doing was giving up, I wore my temporary denture for almost 3 years before it got chipped and picked some bacteria which made it unwearable. I now have no choice but to wear a denture which I must use adhesive every day to keep in my mouth.
This has happened to many people as you may have noticed by the response.
I sincerely hope that this class action suit brings change.

Thank you.

If you have an insurance provider, you should make sure to report your complain to them. You are not the real client, dentist offices are doing more business with insurance than patient. If enough complains arrive to the insurance provider the office can be kicked out of the plan.

I went to Aspen Dental with outside x-rays and they said I didn't need any work but a cleaning, a scaling to be exact. That should send bells ringing in your head right away but I went and had the scaling. They then set up an appointment for a regular cleaning for 6 months at no cost to me. I went in for the regular cleaning and as soon as the hygienist looked into my mouth, she immediately said I had bone loss and bleeding gum, which I have neither. She said she would have to have the dentist look at it and he then said that he needed to take an x-ray of an area and I said I just had x-rays and was told everything was okay and he said okay you can refuse but you'll need x-ray in a few months. Then instead of proceeding to have my regular teeth cleaning, the hygienist said I need a special cleaning and I needed to pay an extra $137 for it. I refused since I have an appointment on paper stating I was to get a regular cleaning at no charge. I then got my x-rays and left and will never return again. This was in Port Charlotte, Florida on Tamiami Road. It's obvious they were trying to extort money from me for special cleaning I did not need.

I am on disability and have no dental insurance. I usually go to a dentist that bills according to income and I could afford it. But my last visit the xrays showed I needed many root canals and numerous fillings. My medication causes my mouth to dry out all day every day and night and the dentist said that was why my teeth had so much damage. Anyhow, the cost for all that work would be in the thousands of dollars and my dentist does not do root canals, they only have so much budget every year and cannot use that much money for the work on one patient. I talked to my father and my son and they agreed that I should get full dentures and they each would pay half the cost for me. I got appt at Aspen Dental and the bill for everything was 6, 775.00 and the bill was not itemized. I had 27 teeth pulled, which AspenDental called "surgery". I was given a "immediate denture" that they relined a few times for 6 months and then I got impressions for the permanent set. The first set were all gums and little kid teeth at the bottom, which the owner/dentist said were all wrong so they took impressions again for top and bottom denture. The second time the dentures looked horrible, like they were not finished. I recorded the visit with my cell phone because I was not treated well at all. I had the dentist look at a back tooth that was chipped and the assistant told the dentist that I did that to the tooth! She lied through her teeth about me, and I was floored and it made me angry. Then the dentist and the assistant left the room and the manager/financial adviser came in and after I told her why I was upset she told me I could get a refund and go somewhere else for the dentures. She told me they would refund the cost of the dentures...and I would get back $1200.00. I was told the rest of the money was used to pay for the "surgery" of having my teeth pulled and the immediate denture that was put in after the teeth were pulled. It never fit properly and I could not eat with them in, something I told them repeatedly about but they would not give me a set that fit. The last 3 months with the immediate dentures I had to use a ton of Fixodent to get the top immeditate denture to stay up in my mouth, it was horrible. Anyways, today I went back to get the top permanent denture a "reline" of acrylic to get it to fit and stay up in my mouth. It did not work and so now I am told there is nothing more they can do and I have until February to make up my mind if I want to keep the dentures from Aspen or get a refund and get them somewhere else. AND, I was told that although I was told I would get a refund of $1200.00 but because I got a "discount" when payment of $6775.00 and so I would get a refund of less than $1000.00 now. I am so upset and I am not going to let my father or my son pay for this again so I am stuck with dentures that do not fit and I do not know what to do now. I cannot believe that Aspen can do this to people and get away with it, $6775.00 and I will only get less than $1000.00 back? Aspen takes advantage of people with no dental insurance and if I had not had help from my family for this, they would have let me "finance" the money and pay it with a monthly payment. With the high interest I am sure they would have it would end up costing close to $8000.00 or more and I do not understand how they are able to do this to people! I am so upset, the reline of acrylic they put in today made the upper denture fit even worse and the dentist "worked" on them to try and get them to fit better, there is now a flat gash across one side that you can totally see, I am so upset about this all and how they have treated me. But of course they make it seem like the problem is YOU and not anything they have done. I do not know what I am going to do, but I am going to get an appointment with a different dentist and see what they tell me, and I am just glad that I recorded the conversation at Aspen..without that I would have no proof at all about what they said to me. I now have a set of dentures that look like a kindergarten class made them.

Recent denture purchaser and not happy. They did the wax impression. I asked the assistant Kelsie if they would be like this, snagly, and she said no, it was just for fit and color and tooth size. The ones before teeth were huge. She kept saying over and over, with my mother as a witness, that they were temp and the perminatet ones would be in 6 months. The wax ones had an over bite and we're crooked. She assured me they would be straight and not stick out. When I went back they did not fit. I had so many people putting their fingers in my mouth not telling me what they were doing. The guy who made them said they're too big and rock. They came back and did a soft liner to make them fit. I kept saying they are not right, they poke out, do not line up and are crooked. That's when I was told that I agreed to them and was told they were the permanent ones. And said that I just had a $300.00 dollar adjustment for free. I left in tears. When my mother saw them, she was the one who paid for them, she said oh hell no, you never had a crooked smile and they poked out. We tried to get them to remake them and was told by Sherri, the office manager that Dr. S would not remake them. That they were not supposed to line up with the bottom and had to stick out because the would break if they were straight down. Now I'm stuck with trying to find a place that takes Dental First financial and is in the same price range. I was warned about using them and should have listened to my friend. I never thought they would let work like that that advertise their company leave their office. Looking to find a lawyer to help me. All I want is teeth that were as good as the original temps they gave me.

I went in to the Aspen dental located in Adrian, Michigan for an examination of my teeth and described a potential problem developing.
It had been a while since my last visit with a dentist because my regular dentist had retired. the dentist who took over his practice was foreign and I didn't really care for him. I had seen all of the Aspen advertisements and I thought that I just might need to get dentures.
the dentist I who examined me said "oh no, your teeth will last another fifteen years. He looked my mouth over and asked me if I had any teeth causing me pain and I pointed out several bad cavities and an overbite that was getting progressively worse. He did some serious probing of my mouth and took some x-rays and told me to go to the front desk and his office manager would lay out a plan for my treatment.
The woman I talked to rattled off a bunch of items as she typed out my treatment plan and started giving me prices and options. She told me about their payment plan and gave me some papers to sign.
My mouth was hurting me pretty bad and I just wanted to go home and take something for the pain and go to bed.
The paperwork I had signed was the last thing on my mind and I didn't remember getting a copy for my records. I had an appointment set up for the next week and I was introduced to a colleague who was going to do my work and proceeded to extract one molar and put a filling in another tooth and told me his office mgr. would set up my next appt.
When I got to the front desk, the woman gave me a credit card and said that was the bank that financed my dental work. I asked her if I had to bring it in to my appointments and she said, no it was just for me to know who I had to pay for my monthly bill.
It turned out that I was getting 8000 dollars worth of work done and my insurance was only paying 1800 dollars. They had some agreement with Aspen Dental so they got some kind of discount.
The dentist never even addressed the overbite problem I had pointed out to them. My lower teeth had been scraping the back of one of my upper incisors and more of my upper teeth were getting worn out even more. Now it's so bad that my lower teeth are almost touching the roof of my mouth and consequently I have seriously bitten my tongue so badly that twice it has bled for two days And No I Haven't Gone Back to see them.
I called Aspen dental's customer number and explained the situation to them. I told them I wasn't going to complete my dental work and they needed to talk to the bank about the fee for the work I had done up to that point and they needed to adjust the amount they financed for my dental work. the woman I spoke to said I had to talk to the bank myself. I told her that I would pay for the work they had completed even though it was so badly done. I replied that I didn't know what the fee was for the work done so how could I explain it to the bank. The bank is Care Credit, a division of Synchrony Bank.
I have spoken to the people at the bank when they have (frequently) called and told them I was disputing the bill with Aspen. I explained that I couldn't get the people at Aspen to understand what I was disputing and could they talk to Aspen Dental about the total to date and help me straighten the problem out.

I have now been turned in to a collection agency and they are getting belligerent with me. They have turned a report in to the credit bureau.
Since I have learned of the class-action issue and so many others being treated similarly by Aspen Dental, I would like to know if I could get some help dealing with these people (Aspen Dental)
Respectfully
Frank Enos

I thank you for this post! I had recently been to the aspen dental in brandon fl and was SEVERELY overcharged! I was lucky enough to back out of any appointments before i started services! They wanted to charge me for an electric tooth brudh, antibiotic treatment and excessive charges! I got a copy of my xrays and am able to find a more legitimate dentist. If it weren't for this post? I would have been charged over $9000 (before insurance coverage). They need a good slapping of a lawsuit to stop this insanity! Taking advantage of a consumer is just plain evil! When i requested my records? They didn't even ask why. I was hoping the opportunity to tell them why but i believe they already knew! Run!

It is not just Aspen Dental but many dentist's that think people/consumers are stupid. I will join that class action suit. Although, I did not entirely get stuck with Aspen, I learn from another con dentist. Something should be done about this con artists that work in these dental offices. People are getting hurt, getting their monies taken from them, and nothing is being done about it. What I suggest to the above complainers is do your research, because these dentists are con artists.

I had the free x-rays and exam on February 17th, 2017.What I was given was a bill for future work Aspen Dental wanted to do for $3, 690.55. I have asked to have my x-rays sent to another dentist 3 times (February 17th, March 6th and April 4th, 2017!). They said they sent them but they have never arrived at the other dentist. So now I have to pay for new x-rays and examine. It may not be much money to you all but it is to someone on a fixed income. Think about it. Those x-rays are of my mouth and should be mine, and should go to the dentist I want them to.

The Doctor that did the hatchet job on me, is no longer working for Aspen Dental and can not practice dentistry. I would like to find a lawyer that will represent me and get my money back and get a tooth replaced. Any suggestions?

Aspen dental should be put out of business!... Typical corporate ### raking people over the coals and charging huge fees while doing so. Me and my wife have paid way too much for services and has issues that were never resolved... Also they sent a bill i was disputing to collections and swore up and down that i could resolve the issue with them. Dont trust them! They lie they cheat and they steal all the time! Beware of these #### they will ruin you and your credit.

Explain and option out all charges that are not covered by net work provider dental insurance on bill. Do not charge for procedures not done (in advance).
Shady outfit. Stay away. Over charges for everything.

They tried to charge me $1700 for a cleaning. Lowered it to $1500. I said no and all they could say is we can work out a payment plan. I advised them I said the treatment was outrageous. She kept saying sign here. It does not mean anything. I stormed out while everyone in the facility was watching me with their mouths wide open. I get home and they call me and said they could do my cleaning for $800.00. Please note that I have no cavities, good gums and good health. The doctor actually said ...well can't make a lot of money on you...you just need a cleaning. The exact reason I was there. Unfortunately I was leaving town in a couple of days and wanted to get my teeth cleaned and set an appointment. Went in and had to pay prior to the cleaning and she charged me only $400. I thought to myself maybe they dropped the price again. While in the chair I asked the hygienist about my bleeding, it had been awhile since my last cleaning, and she said there is no bleeding and we are just going to 1/2 of the mouth today. This was a 1st for me and I said complete the entire mouth. She left and came back with the office manager and all she could say was you realize you only paid for 1/2 today I will need to collect the balance...are you OK with that and do you have the money. I lost it again and produced my Platinum American Express and advised her to get out of my face. The Hygienist was very polite though and it appeared she was placed in an uncomfortable position. I and out in 45 minutes and $800.00 later. I voiced my dissatisfaction on the way out where everyone could here. I felt like I was buying a car at a "buy here Pay here" car lot. No offence to used car salesmen. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE IN BUSINESS!

My insurance company referred me to Aspen Dental. Being new in the area I went there with pain in a tooth. Aspen crowned it. I told Aspen it still hurts and it is not right. Aspen said go to another dentist. I did now the new dentist has to drill through the crown and do a root canal.
They told me I was out of net work and charged me 22 hundred dollars. I got the mail the other day and Aspen collected from my insurance company. Spoke to Aspen's Dental manager and she started yelling at me. I asked for my records and she flew made. I still have not received them.

I went to Aspen because my teeth were severely hurting me. They got me in the day after i called...great! Well i got the free xrays and exam. I knew what was needed, 2 teeth pulled..a root canal...a crown...and a filling. They took my blood pressure, which I've NEVER heard of a dentist doing, it was pretty high. I sat for a few minutes in the chair and she returned and took it again, it came down a couple of points. After that the woman who does the billing took me on her office, have me the run down on what had to be done and had me prepay almost $2400 for everything that had to be done. Actually got appt for later that day..great again! Nope...blood pressure high again. I tell them I'll sign a waiver or whatever...just get me out of pain. I even called my regular Dr. who immediately faxed a letter staying that it was fine to do the procedures. They still wouldn't. Made another appt. for a couple days later...bp high AGAIN...it fluctuates, its never as high as it was at the dentist..but i was in severe pain! So after saying they wouldn't do it that day, the woman who does the billing wall's me out and says they'll issue a refund. Im like WHAT? I wanted my teeth fixed! But apparently they didn't want to take the chance of killing me from pulling a tooth because of my bp (again...WHAT DENTIST TAKES YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE ANYWAYS?) So i asked how long refund would take...she told me a few days. Ok, i guess I'll SUFFER through it. Few days later i call and ask about it, of course can't get last receptionist to talk to the billing lady. The receptionist reels me I'll receive refund in a FEW WEEKS! Im like A FEW WEEKS!?! I NEED TO SEE A DENTIST NOW! Well of course i get nowhere with her. Just a happy little "it will be soon" im sorry but SOON to me is NOT a few weeks. Now I'm suffering in pain trying to figure out how to handle this situation. My BP was high before i pre paid for EVERYTHING so why would they even tell me they'd do the procedures? I'm furious! I have no dental insurance and paid out of pocket, and can't afford to pay for another dentist until i get a refund from this place! I don't know what to do. This sounds illegal to me...and if not its damn sure BAD BUSINESS! Im going to contact the news, the BBB, and the ADS on this office!
