Can I rate zero stars?
This company is not only a scam, but they are criminals. They take your money and then do everything they can to NOT fix anything and make your life miserable. Save the money you would pay them for the contract to your own savings account and basically fund your own home warranty account. The business they sent out to fix my hot water tank had such a bad reputation over the years, that they actually changed their business name. You aren't fooling anyone. They told me my part of the repairs that were not covered were $1500. That included a $30 charge that was needed to bring a drain line up to code. They rest were "modifications" that were ALL not needed or required. I did my homework and called the chief plumbing inspector for the city. Nope none of those items are needed or required. Plus, with chat GPT you can confirm that as well now. Scam. This is how they get their money because AHS doesn't pay the plumber enough to do the job. So, they just add on all this stuff that isn't needed and refuse to do the work unless you pay it. If you try to take the cash-in-lieu offer, good luck with that. They said I rejected the offer and now it's been weeks trying to get anything out of them. I did not reject the offer. I will make it my mission to spread the word about how bad this company is. It will pain me to rate one star but I'm sure I will have to do that to submit this review. Stay away from this company at all costs. They are a scam. How is it that a dishonest company like this cannot be shut down?! FYI, this is not the first issue I have had with them but it will be the last.
Recommendation: Stay away from this company!
waiting over 3 months repair to be complete
my washer and dishwasher needed repair. the first step was to call for service, then the repair company does a video call to assess, then the repair person comes out, sees again what might need to be done, and puts in the order for any parts. we had to wait a couple of weeks for the parts to come in. the timer for the washing machine turned out to be defective. it turned out he never addressed both things i reported about the dishwasher. took him four or five times to make the assessment and put in for all the parts that were required. he said he never knew about the second issue reported about the dishwasher, though american home shield had it in their notes, and i also mentioned it.. the back and forth between me to the company, him to the company, was ridiculous. one part that was put in turned out to be defective. because he took too long to fix the machines, they were deemed irreparable by AHS. since then, i got in the new units. they both were damaged during delivery. the tech that came to install them, said he would let the company know they were damaged and to put in to have them picked up and to order new ones. i have been waiting over a month. i finally called to check on status, and was told no order was ever put in for them to be picked up or new ones ordered... it is three and a half months and i was still waiting for my "new" machines to be redelivered and installed. i called and had to speak to the appliance purchasing dept. they told me no orders were ever put in to have the damaged ones picked up or new ones ordered, that i had to do that and the tech was wrong to tell me he would take care of it. i asked for three months reimbursement for the monthly fee and/or the service fee reimbursed back to me for all of this inconvenience and was told no. when i was waiting in the beginning, had to take the laundry out to be done. very costly. they wouldnt reimburse for me to get that money back either. now, i need to go up and down the steps when doing laundry, so that i can shut off the washer, as the timer that was put in doesnt turn off. it has been a nightmare. i got this plan for convenience, and it has been anything but. i have other issues in my home i have not even called on, because i dont have the confidence they will be fixed. i have tried reaching a supervisor, manager or really corporate level, and have been pushed off. the customer service reps are polite but not helpful at all when there are issues...i have spent so much time on the phone. surprisingly, no high level person called me back to rectify or apologize, and that is how i am on here now, explaining the situation, so that no one else has to deal with this.
Awful experience
Awful. Created a service request to have my AC fixed. A month and four visits later and nothing has been done to fix my issue. It is currently summer in California. The inside of my home is over 100 degrees. Once the temperature exceeds 100 degrees the thermostat just reads "HI." They have no sense of urgency, nor do they seem to understand the severity of the issue. Customer service representatives are useless and provide no real resolutions. Worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. Completely unacceptable.
Drop them and find a reliable local HVAC contractor to fix your AC. Switch to a more responsive insurance company that prioritizes customer issues. Make sure to check reviews before signing up with a new provider. This way, you’ll avoid dealing with the same kind of incompetence in the future.
Stay away from ahs... Rip off.. Cost me more to fix with them
Garage door opener broke (the springs). They are covered per the contract. Been over 30 days and not a single contractor with in 100 miles wants to work with ahs so they are forcing me to take a cash-in-lieu offer. The offer is $170 when the cheapest estimate I have is $580. Ahs is stating they are only offering to pay for fraction of the cost because they aren't covering labor. Now my contract clearly states they are to pay a reasonable repair fee which include parts and labor. They are refusing... So I have to pay my $94 monthly fee. $125 service fee... They are going to pay me $170. Sooooo that means I lost $49 to them plus the $400-$600 for the repair.
Tell me how that is service? So in the end it is costing me extra money to have their service, not to mention the calls and frustration for the last 1.5 months. My car was trapped in the garage for 3 weeks. Fyi their contract states 48 hours. It has been more than 48 days. Why does the government let companies steal money like this?
Stop wasting your time with their nonsense. Document everything and prepare to take legal action if necessary. Cancel that service immediately and find a local, reliable contractor to fix your garage door. You’re getting scammed, and you shouldn’t pay a dime more to AHS. Get your money back and make sure they know you won’t tolerate this kind of service. Don't let them take advantage of you.
AC unit repair
I recently submitted a claim to American Home Shield for an AC unit that was not turning on. Two service technicians inspected the unit, the first discovery was that the unit would need to be replaced due to the age, Freon and evaporator coils. American Home Shield sent a second technician to my home and his discovery was that my portion of the repair would exceed over three thousand dollars and according to him the repair would NOT resolve the problem. He also stated that I would be without AC again before the summer was over since this was only a temporary fix. He did include the same diagnosis of Freon and evaporator coil repair. I live in Texas where it can get in the 110's temps and have been without AC for a while now! Due to the AC needing replaced, my electricity bill exceeds $600 per month! AHS does not honor its warranty nor does customer service do anything besides read a script and give you the run around.
Awful company
If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is a complete scam. Maybe they will cover very small issues but for anything like an AC unit or something that is actually worth having a "warranty" for they know exactly how to get out of covering anything. Additionally, it is clear they are working with specific companies who clearly work in their favor. I had 3 AC companies come out on my own dime to evaluate our systems, each of those companies came to the exact same conclusion and gave very similar quotes for repair costs. When AHS sent their people out, surprisingly there was nothing wrong with the units except for the fact that they needed refrigerant which is the one thing they don't cover...how convenient. So magically all the other issues the 3 other companies found were not detected by AHS's contractors. This has been a common theme with them and I am finally cutting ties with this scam.
Recommendation: Do not use them
Totally agree! This company is HORRIBLE! What a scam! This is what my interior looks like after their super roof tech repaired my roof twice! It's still leaking, and now I have all this nasty damage and a roof full of water about to collapse! They now want to charge me more fees and to send the same guy! Do not use this company!
Company was very professional
Company was very professional. They completed repairs in a timely manner. I have been an AHS member for 10 years. I have always been pleased with their service.
The service man was very thorough in his inspection
The service man was very thorough in his inspection of the unit and finding what the problem was. He explanation of the problem was very clear and understanding.

The repair men were prompt and courteous. They were able to replace the broken part and repair what needed to be repaired all in one short visit. My garage door was fixed in under an hour.
Excellent service Plumber arrived on time, sought out
Excellent service Plumber arrived on time, sought out the problem, fixed it, and cleaned up after his work. He was pleasant, thanked ME for the service call and was very professional. We have AHS for close to 20 years and have never had an issue with a service call.

The Tech was EXTREMELY professional and he was very thorough. He explained his repair and encouraged me to call if I had any problems with repair. Did his job, cleaned up after himself and completed job expediently. I have had AHS for more than 10 years and every service has proven to be great.
I have been using American Home Shield since 2007 when I bought my first home
I have been using American Home Shield since 2007 when I bought my first home. It came with it and I didn't know anything about home warranties. Let me tell you it came in handy the first 90 days! My hot water heater started giving me problems and all I had to do was call them and they sent out a technician to fix the issue. About a month later the hot water heater broke down completely and AHS replaced it without any problems! I am on my second home and yes you guessed it, I have AHS again! I also highly recommend them to family and friends. You can't beat the services and the ease of just calling in or using their website to put in a service request. You are contacted within 24 to 48 hours depending on the severity of your repair by the servicing repair company with a time and date of service. You only pay American Home Shield and not the repair company and that's it. The repair companies are usually companies you know in your local area and they are professional. I have issues with companies in my area not being timely, professional or doing a complete job. I can honestly say this is not the issue when they come out to do a repair. Even if something happens and they have to come back to fix it again no problems or issues with returning. You can pay for the warranty monthly or all at once for the year depending on your budget. The service fee comes right out of your checking account or you can have a debit or credit card on file. No money changes hands at any time. For my family, American Home Shield has been a lifesaver!
If I could give zero stars I would. I schedule the a/c tune up which they offer. The contractor came out to my house for the tune up and said the refrigerant was low and that he could recharge it, but I needed to call and put in a work order, and he could charge it today. No big deal, I call put in a work order pay the fee. Well refrigerant isnt covered, which I new, so I pay for that as well. So, I paid for the a/c tune up for the guy to tell me the refrigerant was low, then I paid the service call fee for the guy that was already here to put refrigerant in, then I paid for the refrigerant. Moral of the story, a/c tune up is a scam.
great customer *** everything great keep up the great work
Terrible service, especially when trying to cancel a contract. I had to call three times to cancel one of my services, I was told every time that they would waive the cancellation fee, then found out they charged it anyway. I called to complain, they said they would fix it and it is still not resolved. So I plan on calling tomorrow morning to cancel all of my remaining contracts with this company. They are super hard to use, they do not understand simple requests, they do not understand their own contract or what appliances are. I had to explain my HVAC issue as if I was speaking with someone with no technical background. I just cannot recommend this company to anyone.

Let me start with the obvious: you are dealing with an Insurance Company and as so it will take a share of patience to get your problem solved. Another issue with this company is that you are not going to be able to snick on them and resolve Two problems with 1 visit Fee. We had a microwave not heating on a Thursday and a 3-Door Fridge not cooling on the very next day! I picked the fridge first to file my claim, (online the best and fastest way!), and the technician showed up the next Tuesday, yes, they have up to 48 'business' hours to start reviewing your claim. Luck us we have a small spare fridge in the garage and that made my life much simpler. By the next Saturday the tech came back with a brand new compressor and computer mother board and after 4-1/2 hours was able to get my fridge back in working order. Then I decided to ask him about my microwave and his answer was very simple: file a claim and I'll come back to check. The guy was inside my kitchen, could have taken at least a look but no, new claim fee needs to be paid. And so we did, and he came back, and thank Jesus it was just a small fuse that he had on his truck and my microwave got fixed on the spot. Each claim is a 125 dollars copay. (Not sure why some people here says 100, but I'm in South Florida and things here have the tendency to be much more expensive than any other place!). All in all, AHS resolved my 3 claims in the past 2 years since we signed with them, being much cheaper than paying a private company to fix the problems. But if you think you'll call them in the morning and have your issue fixed by the afternoon, you better look somewhere else. ;)
Cancelled policy 2022 July...I get an email saying do I want to renew policy. I shouldn't have a new policy, which means they've been taking my money for a year.Want my money back...been using *** homebuyers since March 2022.
We purchased a home that came with this coverage. What a disaster! Poor customer service, communication barriers due to language differences. The internal coordination was lacking, and we faced threats of legal action if we didn't make payments that we were initially told were not required. After we paid the deductible, we were erroneously charged a second time and had to request a refund. Resolving the issue took several weeks, complicated by the fact that all the customer service agents were located overseas. As our contract year ended, we learned from the contractors we had hired that they no longer work with AHS because of payment issues. We've decided to part ways with AHS and will not be using their services in the future.
Terrible Experience from the beginning. Can't get copies of contracts, calls are from *** and they can't understand, slow and terrible to do repairs. They claimed it was a leaky valve (we never said that), put a huge hole in wall (not a leaky valve), only repaired partial and looks horrible. We had to go pay for a better patch ourselves. They can't understand your claim.. We were on auto pay and they messed that up, too. Horrible to try and work with. STAY AWAY!
I purchased a home warranty on a property that i was not sure if i was going to keep after 6 months i sold the property and was charged a fee i was told that i was in a one year contract even though i specifically asked for monthly plan then i was told that if you cancel you have to pay a fee regardless of how you make your payments completely different than what i was told verbally. The company has very poor ratings on all sites except the select home warranty site which is impossible to put a rating on these are fake 5 star reviews on their site different than the reviews on other platforms
Paid for this service for 3 months before I filed my first claim on 3/4/2022
Paid for this service for 3 months before I filed my first claim on 3/4/2022. On 3/6 I had not heard from the contracter who was assigned to me, so I called them. They said they were no longer willing to work with AHS, nor were they willing to get on the portal and reject the claim. They gave no additional details as to why. That same day I called AHS back, they cancelled that claim and reissued a new one. I was refunded the $100 deductible, and recharged the same deductible. By the second day after being assigned a contractor, I reached out to contractor, who was extremely unprofessional in the way he handled my business (over text, unwilling to call me), but explained that he was going through a slew of hardships, including being sick with Covid, so I simply called and had them repeat the process to reassign this to a third contractor. By this time it was the 18th. I was informed there were no contractors in my area, and that it would take 48 hours to find one. by the 22nd I had heard nothing, and this time I called to cancel my membership, and get my money refunded. The best they could do was refund the $100 deductible, and the one monthly fee that had come out since my first claim was filed. They charged me almost $40 to cancel early, regardless of the fact that the fault was their own, and when I asked if I could speak to someone higher up I was told there is no one higher up. There was an additional $137.82 they refused to refund me, not including the fee they refused to wave. Buyer Beware - I was unhappy with 2-10 warranty, but never in the two years that I had their services was I treated this poorly as a customer. AHS made 2-10 look flawless. Do not waste your time or money. Do not go with AHS.
I opened a service request on June 12, 2022 for my rental property's water heater
I opened a service request on June 12, 2022 for my rental property's water heater. As of June 14, I haven't received any calls from the contractor, and my tenants have been without hot water for three days. On Tuesday, June 14, I called AHS at 11:09 PT and the call lasted for 20 minutes and 18 seconds. Still, no call from the contractor. I asked for a supervisor, but the agent told me to wait 24 hours for a call back. On Wednesday, June 15, I called *** and the call lasted for 3 minutes and 9 seconds. They said they are waiting for AHS to approve. On the same day, I tweeted to @ahs_warranty to explain my situation and ask for someone to call me. I called ASH and they said they are waiting for approval from the *** with no estimated time of arrival. On Thursday, June 16, I called AHS and told them I wanted a second opinion. They asked me why, and I mentioned three reasons: 1) my out-of-pocket expense of $1720 or something (not more than $18k), 2) the contractor never came to the house to inspect the water heater, only did a video with my tenant, and 3) it's been four days and my tenants still don't have hot water (note: on the first day, I offered my tenants a hotel). I asked the agent if AHS would reimburse me for the hotel, but there was no response. I made a new service request with A *** and AHS said it could take up to 24 hours. As of Monday, June 20, I haven't received a call from the second contractor. It's been eight days and my tenants still don't have hot water. On June 20, Brother Plumbing, ***, was contacted for service. On Thursday, June 23, a technician from Brothers came out and I approved the service since my tenants had been without hot water for 12 days. The total invoice was $4,747.95 out of pocket. For my second property, ***, I opened a service request on May 27 for an annual *** tune-up. The *** technician came out but refused to go on the roof of the single-story condo (they had previously come out for the winter heater tune-up). I called AHS and requested a second *** tune-up contractor, but they said the *** special offer ($75) was over. I informed them that I had made the request.
We got an AHS home warranty when we bought our current home
We got an AHS home warranty when we bought our current home. Unfortunately, our A/C unit stopped working shortly after the purchase, in the middle of July.
When we first tried to contact AHS, my husband was on hold for over three hours one evening. Every time he got connected, it was with someone from another country. They were helpful, but there were communication difficulties, especially when we wanted someone local to do the repairs. In any case, the process seemed very complicated and filled with delays.
The contractor we were assigned had very bad reviews on ComplaintsBoard.com. We were not allowed to choose our own contractor, which makes sense for the company but not for the homeowner. We ended up canceling the request because of all these issues. Since many people were warning others about this contractor, we didn't feel comfortable having them work in our home.
I contacted our realtor to get a contact at AHS, which I did reach out to separately. My hope was to speed up the process and find a more reputable person to fix our A/C. Long story short, while we were emailing back and forth, we decided to pay for the repair ourselves. It's interesting to note that there were no delays when we called the contractor directly. I did ask for a possible reimbursement, even a partial one, but that was completely denied without any consideration.
The lesson here is that home warranties are somewhat pointless, especially if American Home Shield is involved. The seller paid for the warranty, but at this point, it would have been better if they had just given us the money. The process is very confusing and designed to benefit the home warranty company. In this case, we did exactly what they probably wanted us to do. We gave up. But life is too short to play these games.
Like most third-party warranty companies, AHS aims to maximize revenue and minimize payouts
Like most third-party warranty companies, AHS aims to maximize revenue and minimize payouts. However, I have had generally positive experiences with them. A home warranty came with my house when I purchased it. After one year, we decided to renew for a second year, which turned out to be a good decision. Living in a place where AC is needed for more than 10 months a year, I encountered an issue when our 9-year-old blower stopped working. I opened a ticket and was initially assigned a contractor with poor reviews. I contacted AHS through chat and requested a different contractor. Although they mentioned that they do not consider reviews, the customer service representative agreed to assign a different contractor. Luckily, the next contractor had mostly positive reviews. The contractor came out two days later, confirmed the issue, and submitted it to AHS for approval. They then ordered the necessary part, which took about a week to arrive. During this time, I recommend following up every two days through chat to ensure progress, as both the contractor and AHS can be busy. The part was eventually installed, but it was not blowing properly. Another team member from the contractor came by after a week and fixed the issue. In the end, I only had to pay a $100 deductible for a repair that would have cost around $1,500, so that aspect was satisfactory. However, it is important to note that when dealing with AHS, they act as the middleman between you and the actual work being done. If it is an emergency, you may not be pleased with the wait time. Otherwise, AHS saved me money and eventually resolved the issue.
We have a home warranty program with American Home Shield
We have a home warranty program with American Home Shield. On August 18th, we called them to report that our air conditioner was not working. On August 26th, a technician from *** located in Monrovia came and told us that we needed a replacement air conditioner and a new condenser. He said he would create a work order and email us a copy, but we never received it. On August 28th, we left messages with both AHS and *** to find out what to do next. On August 30th, the owner of *** called us and said he would make a second visit to confirm the technician's assessment. On September 3rd, he agreed with the technician and said he would prepare a report to send to AHS and email us a copy, but we never received it.
From September 11th to September 19th, we called both AHS and *** for updates, but we never received a call back. On September 20th, we contacted AHS and asked to speak to a customer service representative. The representative was difficult to hear and there was a lot of static on the line. They told us that we would have to pay *** $2,025 for the condenser repairs, which was the first time we heard about this fee. We were never informed about it. They also informed us that the air conditioner and condenser were ready to be picked up by J &K ***.
On September 24th, we tried to reach J &K to schedule an installation date, but we didn't get a response. On September 26th, we called AHS and they told us that the air conditioner and condenser were in ***. We requested a bill of lading/tracking number and a telephone number, but they said they didn't have either. They said they would investigate and update us on September 27th, but that didn't happen. On September 27th, we contacted AHS again and spoke to a representative who informed us that the air conditioner and condenser were both on back order and should arrive in 3 to 5 days.
I have never been treated in this manner in my life. There is no accountability from either company. I am hopeful that you can help us.
Best Home Warranty Out There!
Best Home Warranty Out There! American Home Shield has been great for us. Unfortunately, the house we bought has had plumbing, hot water and appliance problems. More problems than our last home had in five years. We had AHS then, but we only used it a couple of times, so probably didn't appreciate just how good AHS is. With our recent home, AHS has promptly provided service and when one of our appliances could not be fixed, they quickly offered a replacement. We waited over a month for our replacement refrigerator to be available from GE to order, but finally AHS sent us a check to buy a new one. GE seems to be having trouble getting their products to their warehouses, not AHS's fault. They made the decision to replace our appliance as soon as our Appliance guy said it was not repairable. If you even consider some of the other home warranty companies, read their reviews closely and their contracts. Especially, that fine print. Most of them prorate your appliance by age if it has to be replaced and they try to duck you when you need service. I signed up for one that offered a 30 day risk free trial with a price that seemed too good to be true. Getting my money back after I read the fine print on their contract was quite the challenge. I had to dispute it on my credit card. Their are people that can't get them to pay for their repairs or even schedule them. Glad I quickly cancelled. I can't even imagine what a fight it would have been to get our repairs done. From the reviews I have read it sounds like HHH likes to collect your money, but doesn't like to pay out for repairs. Beware! Anyhow, my brother and I both have AHS and it has been nothing but perfect for both of us. Repairs are made quickly, customer service is very helpful and they take very good care of their clients. Great Job AHS! Wish we hadn't had so many problems with our home, but we are sure glad we went back to you for our home warranty. That other Company would have given us nothing but trouble based on the reviews I have read about them. I am a pretty darn picky person, so for me to right this good of a review for a company says a lot.
Been paying on my account for 2 years, never requested service - NOW THIS!
The first time I have requested service on my account after paying nearly $1200 and first find their computer system is down and can't take a request. I go online and make a service request for a plumber to fix a leaking toliet and will be charged a $125 service fee and then when the assigned service company calls to schedule the repair they advise me they can't get to me for another week. I cancel my repair request and go to chat with a customer service agent to find another plumber and I am advised their computer system is still down - to contact them again in an hour,.. I have been contacting them repeatedly every hour on the hour for the past 4 hours. No luck! What a disappointment this warranty service is!

Washing machine
We requested service on Jan 22 for our washer and fridge, completed Feb 22 due to a delayed part. After three uses, the washer is stuck again. Despite speaking with AHS agents and a supervisor, no one resolves this. The technician falsely marked it complete after only diagnosing. I have proof they finished on Feb 22. AHS now demands payment for another visit—unacceptable. Send a qualified technician.

Stop the Service!
Back in June I called American Home Service and cancelled my service before it was paid on my monthly account. AHS took my money anyway, so I called them on their 800 number and told them to cancel and return my payment. Good luck, never happened, I had to call my bank and put a stop payment to get my money back from AHS. Well just about every month now I call them to stop the payment notices. They tell me yes, but now I am getting collections notices! Can someone help this retired USMC Vietnam Veteran.
Desired outcome: Stop the notices and mailed bills

Kenmore range
We have a Kenmore range that cost 1500 when we purchased it years ago. The oven stopped working during Covid and it took several months for the replacement parts to arrive. Fast forward to this year and we had the same problem. The oven was repaired in March but went out again in June. AHS advised of the 30 day guarantee on service and that we would need to pay the $125 service charge again. The charges were waived because I let them know that I wanted to cancel the plan. The service order was June 3rd and on July 9th the technician let us know that the oven couldn’t be repaired. In speaking to AHS we were offered an Amana range that had the same features as our Kenmore. I let the rep know that the Amana was not acceptable because it was not the same quality. My issue was escalated and in speaking to the escalation department I was told that they only offer Amana an GE appliances. I couldn’t find that info in my contract. I was offered a little over $500 for my range and find that unacceptable. I let the rep know that with the same features that I have, ranges can cost way more that amount offered. I wanted to know how they came up with the amount without seeing my range. Needless to say their offer stood at the cash offer or the Amana oven of which neither is acceptable. I’m looking to have a range comparable to the one I have or cash to purchase one similar to the one I have. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Claimed loss: Kenmore range
Desired outcome: Monies to purchase range similar to one I have

Horrible overseas customer service. I have had 100’rds of conversations with there reps, escalation team, and even management of the past 10 months. Most of them did not go well. We have two open contracts that have yet to be resolved. But they are listed as complete, even after dozens of calls to reverse and correct this. I have spoken to the contractors for both issue (and AHS reps), and their response has been unacceptable and they tell me I must open a new ticket for them to come out (including paying another fee). Let me be clear, these contracts/tickets have yet to be completed. 1) pool equipment; 2) Heat and AC and a thermosate with the incorrect model. With both of these open tickets, AHS and the contractors have no accountability, and do not show up for appointments constantly. And the AHS representatives do the same when promising a call back. And even worse AHS has no teeth when enforcing these contractors.
I have tried working with the assigned contractors, as well as the AHS support, but neither result in necessary action and resolution. 10 Months! To date, they are in default of our contract. And since I had no results, I requested using my own contractor. Low and behold, I was told I cannot use an outside vender to complete, and submit an invoice. Seems ridicules considering these contractors cannot or will not perform, and the AHS contractor pool is limited. So, I had no choice but to use an outside contractor to perform the pool fixes, and have paid the invoice out of my own pocket.
And even worse, I have a number of other repairs that I would like addressed, but I cannot go down this path until the previous fix orders are completed and or resolved.
I continue to request someone outside of AHS support & escalation, preferably in management who has authority to fix this issue. They either refuse to call me back, or call me late in the evening...and even on national holidays (I will not take calls on holidays or late in the evenings). So I have paused all of my payments until such time as they reimburse me for my out of pocket expenses and resolve all remaining issues. Since I have paused my payments, I have received a dozen calls for payment from them. Imagine if they put this kind of effort into client advocacy with getting things done for their clients.
This goes beyond common sense and again is nothing more than a clear BREACH OF CONTRACT and BREACH of EXPRESS WARRANTY!
Do not trust or waste your time with this company as they will cause you grief beyond belief!
Desired outcome: Cancel my service or fix my remaining issues listed above

Home warranty
I sold my home on Sept 28th 2023. I called HSA sometime in early-mid September in 2023 to let them know I will be moving and to cancel the plan and to request no more charges be taken out of my account.
This was especially crucial to me because I was not (and am still no) working.
THe buyer of my home notified me of a piece of mail he received on on 5/6 saying that HSA was going to continue payments from 5/27/24 - 5/26/25. I went to look at my account and see that HSA has been taking money out of my account every month even though I no longer own the home. I closed on [protected] and HSA deducted on 9/29 and has been since.
I called customer service today and they say they have no phone record of me calling in to cancel the policy. But i have documentation of the sale of the home. HSA owes me $506.42.
9/29: 84.41
12/29: 84.41
1/30/2020: 84.41
2/29: 84.41
3/29: 84.41
4/29: 84.37
Claimed loss: $506.42
Desired outcome: A refund to me in the amount of $506.42

AHS contractor assigned for AC service with A-US
I have been using AHS for 20 years with satisfied services. I have been a paying member and relied on good service, response times and replacements if necessary. My disappointment comes today when placing a service request on Friday 5/3. I was given a service response time of 1 business day, Monday 5/6;which was acceptable. Mind you I live in North Texas where its 85-90 degrees inside my home. I called the contractor at 9:30a this morning to get the ETA. They promised a callback and did as expected to say it would be 10:30-11:00a. 4 hours passed so I called again at 1:00p and 1:53 pm but was told the dispatch team would call the tech to get a realistic time of arrival. NO CALLBACK. So I called AHS to see if I could change my assigned contractor and told no because they were within the guidelines. When I called A-US at 4:00 I was then told the tech had come; completed the assigned job and repaired the unit. After being at home all day 8a-4p I KNEW ths was NOT the CASE. NO ONE from A-US came to my home. I have proof with my ring camera-and being home this was a deceitful response and outright LIE. Now im being told by the contractor that we must request a second visit as followup and wait until Wednesday 5/8 to get this dishonest, unreliable, untrustworthy person into my home for the repair in 2 more days. This company should not use such a bad reputable company to represent AHS.
Claimed loss: 2 business day + 2 weekend days in a unbearably hot home. This is unacceptable and should include a hotel stay until the unit is repaired.
Desired outcome: 2 reimbursed nights in hotel and credit for #dispatch [protected]

Complaint no action on dryer fix no replacement offered
The replacement of the dryer has not been carried out after the technician indicated that it was not working.
On February 29, 2023, I requested the repair of a washer and dryer. The technician came to my house three times to repair them. I request to repair the Washing Machine the following parts: control board, level sensor, inlet valve, user interface, motor control It does not work
Request for the Dryer: Control board, thermistor, Motor. It didn't work. The technician reported the findings and spoke with a manager. American Home Shield requested a second opinion and to date NO COMPANY HAS ACCEPTED. IN TURN THEY OFFERED ME AS AN ALTERNATIVE OSSA (THE CUSTOMER GET A COMPANY THAT WILL QUOTE AND FIX UNDER THEIR CONDITIONS) AS A CUSTOMER IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO DO THAT MANAGEMENT BUT I STILL SPOKE WITH 2 COMPANIES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT THE CONDITIONS OF AMERICAN HOME SHIEL AND THEY CANNOT WORK THE DRYER PRIVATELY SINCE ANOTHER TECHNICIAN WORKED PREVIOUSLY AND WHO SHOULD SOLVE IT IS THE GUARANTEE THAT PAID.
I WAS INFORMED THAT A FIELD MANAGER IS WORKING ON THE CASE AND PASSED FOR APPROVAL BUT THEY HAVE MY CASE IN THE AIR UNSOLVED SINCE FEBRUARY 29, 2024
Claimed loss: the cost of my dryer
Desired outcome: I need a replacement for the dryer since some parts were previously changed and it did not work. I have a long time

Refrigerator replacement
I have been a customer of American Home Shield for 7+ years. First, they increased the cost of our policy without any notification or explanation which I wouldn't be too upset over had they been doing what I pay them for as a warranty company. Our refrigerator stopped working in February, I contacted American Home Shield and submitted a Service Request, it took a week for them to send a vendor, the same vendor who replaced the compressor two years ago on the same refrigerator. He showed up, opened the refrigerator, noted it wasn't cold and said compressor needs to be replaced, we will order it walked out and left. Another week went by and no update, so I called the vendor American Home Sheild sent out and was told they were still looking for the part and it would take another 8-10 business days for them to find the part. I then called American Home Shield and was told it was out of their hands since the vendor did not go through them to order the replacement part. I then asked about a cash out option because I did not feel confident in the vendor and was told a request was submitted and would receive a call or email within 24 hours. When AHS says they will contact you within any amount of time, they won't. I spoke to countless representatives over the last month and each time it is literally like groundhog day and each person gives me a different answer. I've asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor and have been told they don't know who that is or they are unable to transfer calls. Meanwhile we are still without a working refirgerator for a family of 4 and still getting the run around from American Home Shield. Needless to say, they have absolutely horrible customer service, no one knows what is going on, they promise a call back that never happens therefore I will be cancelling my policy and will never refer anyone to this company as I cannot understand how they are still in business.

I have spoken to the contractors for both issue (and AHS reps), and thier respnce has been unacceptable. I have paid for these fixes, and tried working with your contractors and AHS support, but neither results in necessary action and resolution. To date, they are in default of our contract, and I cannot get advanced suupport of accounting/Management to assist. Since I was told I cannot use an outside vender to complete, and submit an invoice, this is truely problematic and I have damaged items covered at our home. Seems rediculas considering I have no cold air in the summer, and no heat now in the winter, and something so simple is unresolved. So, I have no choice but to seek outside help. With that, I will summit an invoice for payment and take any means necessary to get paid back.
I continue to request someone outside of AHS esculation, preferably in manangement who has authority to fix this issue. I have paused all of my payments until such time as this happens. Since I have paused my payments, I have recieved dozens of collection calls for payment. Imagine if they put this kind of effort into client advocacy with geeting things done for their clients.

Faucet in master bathroom
On Monday 11 December 2023 we placed an order to have our faucet fixed in our master bathroom. The company that came out was ON POINT Contractors. The serviceman that was here fixed on faucet but broke the other. He then proceeded to tell me that it will cost us $600 to have the faucet fixed because he has to pull out the pedestal sink. He shut off the water and told me I could not use the faucet. He also said he would pause the job because I told him I need to speak to my husband. After speaking to my husband we called AHS representative and told them what happened. The representative told us they have not received any estimate from the contractor yet and therefore could not help me. I told them that they paused the job that is why AHS hasn't received it. The problem is the contractor broke my sink. I am a paraplegic and function using a wheelchair. The sink that I use is especially modeled to where I can get to the sink. My husband called ON POINT hoping to get this resolved with them only for them to get a faucet that does not match. I called AHS and the representative said she couldn't do anything since ON POINT has the job. AHS representative also confirmed that they were not the one to order the faucet even though the contractor told us that AHS sent the faucet to them. So We caught On Point in a lie. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. Veronica got on the phone and after a lengthy conversation that led to nowhere. So i requested if we can pay to get another company out here. She agreed. I paid $100 and we scheduled Lindsay company to come out on Jan 11. 2024 (note how long it has taken for us to have this fixed and me without a sink I can use). Well I was expecting a plumber today from 11am to 4pm window. When i called Lindsay Company to check they said that AHS had cancelled the order because ON POINT was working on it, even though I got a new job completely. So now the problem is if On Point works on my faucet it doesn't match my other faucet in my master bathroom. And AHS said Lindsay cannot work on a faucet that On Point broke. I have been without a working sink and for accessiblity reasons this has caused me extreme stress. I have never had any issues with AHS.I tried asking to speak to a supervisor again and the representative refused to put me through. I asked to be put through to the escalation department and again she said she could not do that. I asked to speak to the corporate office and she said she could not do that either.

Installation not up to code
The contractor who installed our new water heater was not reputable and cannot be reached. American Home Shield has been notified 3 times and we have not received a return call. At this point the escalation team has not followed through as promised and we feel helpless to get this resolved. We are told they will call us but they never do. It is a big black hole.

Title — unpleasant and unprofessional experience with american home shield:
Pricing Concerns, Limited Options, and Disrespectful Treatment
I am compelled to share my recent and absolutely horrible and unprofessional experience with American Home Shield concerning the replacement of my hot water heater. As a loyal customer for many years, I've generally been content with their services. Unfortunately, a recent encounter has left me deeply dissatisfied and questioning the level of professionalism within the company.
I have been a customer of American Home Shield for several years and have generally been satisfied with their services. The technicians are usually prompt, and the quality of work has met my expectations in the past. The noticeable difference in the cost of the hot water heater replacement has raised questions and concerns. Three years ago, I had a similar replacement done, and the cost was only $300. I called customer service to discuss my apprehensions, hoping for clarification or a potential resolution. Unfortunately, the initial representative was unable to assist and advised me to proceed with paying the $875. Feeling unsatisfied, I requested to escalate the matter to a higher department.
The call was forwarded to a higher department, and to my dismay, the representative I spoke to was not only unhelpful but also extremely rude and harsh with his response regarding the heater replacement. This unexpected and unprofessional behavior added to my frustration. In addition to the pricing concerns, the salesperson insisted that I had no choice but to pay the $875 or go without hot water. This approach left me feeling cornered and frustrated, as I believe as a homeowner, I should have the right to seek a second opinion or explore other service options. Throughout the conversation, the representative continued to explain that, at this point, I have no other option but to pay the $875. To add to the dismay, the representative even muted his phone to avoid hearing my concerns. I have generally been satisfied with the services provided by American Home Shield, the recent experience with the hot water heater replacement was absolutely horrible and unprofessional. The unhelpful initial response from customer service, the rude behavior from the higher department representative, the pressure from the salesperson, and the disrespectful phone muting have left me with significant reservations. I hope that American Home Shield takes these concerns seriously and addresses them to maintain the trust and satisfaction of long-term customers.

Frigidaire oven not staying hot when baking, turns off and on
December of 2023 I was baking cookies, bread, etc. I wasn't looking or hearing anything with the stove. Assumed it was cooking. December 28, 2023, I called.
Home Shield filed a claim and assigned Premiere Services Group. January 2, 2024, at (9:00 am, Nice young man Steve came to my home to evaluate, check inside oven and discovered it was some kind of fuse was BAD and the Aluminum sheet cover was badly burnt. So, today's date is 1-10-24 and Premier received the approval last week and are sitting on this. I did call premier when I had the information of the approval, I got some Condescending, rude lady there. IF I HAVE another claim I Will Never USE Premier.
And I will be looking for another insurance
I'm still without an Oven

Water heater
12/26/23, I had taken a shower and was getting ready for work, my husband went out to the garage and said our water heater broke, then when I looked in the kitchen it was coming in from under the oven, I stepped in the garage and it was flooded so we dropped some towels down in all the places the best we could. Then he drained it, went and got a new one. I had to get to work. Put in the new one then later after he had gotten it in, I called him and said I forgot we had a home warranty, he said well I already got it in. He did it quickly because he had a procedure he had to prepare for that he was having the next day. So I called AHS and explained what had happen and that I forgot that we had the policy since it is automatic withdrawal and we have had it 20+ years. And when the one in 2015 went out we took a cash pay out, they only paid for the water heater, my husband has his own business in home remodel, construction etc. So I don't understand why they are making a big deal about it, I am just looking for the cash out of the cost on the water heater, they didn't pay him nothing to do it last time. I have pictures I could send etc. If it was okay last time what is the big deal, I'm sure you people don't have the greatest memories either.
Claimed loss: 620.21
Desired outcome: I would like a refund on the cost of what the new water heater cost.

Refrigerator repair
Date of incident: December 19, 2023
Complaint against: All Valley Appliances Heating and Airconditioning, Inc.
Nature of complaint:
1) Misdiagnosis, false report to AHS
2) Damage to Refrigerator
The Problem to be Serviced:
The refrigerator water dispensor button, once depressed, did not return to default position, causing water not to shut off - immediate remedy, manually reach in and pull button back out to stop flow of water.
1) The All Valley Appliances service person Restored the button to the off position by tugging on the cover frame, denting the water dispenser cover and reporting to AHS that it was damaged. Damaged by the technician, not by us.
2) The water button is on the door. The technician wanted to do something at the Back of the refrigerator. We don't know why. But once the refrigerator was away from the wall, the technician ran his hands up the back of the fridge, and then turned his attention to the water intake pipe.
3) The service person claimed that the refrigerator water line shut off valve "was not working properly" in that he could not shut off the water. An inspection by a plumber today [December 30, 2023, sent by American Home Shield] verified that the valve had nothing wrong with it, and that the All Valley Appliences service person was in error.
3) The service technician Pulled the frigerator out from wall via opening the Refrigerator DOORS and pulling on the DOORS! That should NEVER have been done because doing so can damage the doors.
Desired outcome: Please Refund the $75 to me the service fee paid to All Valley Appliances Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. because of their incompetence, misdiagnosis, damageful treatment of refrigerator, and lying to American Home Shield.
