I live in Sindri, Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The speed of Airtel GPRS service is very slow about 10 times slower than they said to be which is 115.2Kbps. They have increased the charge of GPRS service to Rs. 249/- from Rs.99/- Monthly but not the speed.
What a poor service!
Company like bharti - airtel doesn't have a customer care number whom one can talk , number like 121 and their rest of the number cant provide any info on blocked pin codes.
I blocked my phone at 2300hrs and now its 0500, i spent on hours but unable to locate their any executive who can assist me in giving puk code to deblock my number. Disgusting and most pathetic service, i would rather [prefer to shift to tata's or vodaphone hutch.
Ask mr sunil mittal about the question on customer care he would be blank... I am sure he himself would be using any other service provider that his own bharti airtel.
My mobile has an air tell connection from 27th March 2007. I take with the facility of charge of Rs. 20 paisa per minute. When I take the connection, your executives at CS informed me that this scheme is for 6 months. Now after 2 months, they charge Rs. 2.15 per minute charge without informing me. Sir, when I went to customer care center, their behavior was very rude. First of all, they don’t respond and ignore the customers. The persons were the executives of your cs center, Mr. Imran and Miss. Ami Sagar. I am very sure that many customers feel the same thing. Few of them complaints but many of them were not. Many of them just change the connection and tell other person about their experience. Sir, we have a customer care facility to help the customers not to insult them or feel them dumped. In this competitive world, customer is a king. If this kind of competitive situation, you also want to compete with different organizations including Idea, Hutch and BSNL. If you ignore the complaints, in short term you may get profits but in long term you will be lost forever. I think as an employee of this organization, you never want that situation.
I am very sure that after receiving this e-mail, you will definitely take some corrective action.

Few days ago, I converted to my Airtel prepaid to postpaid connection. I have been a good customer of Airtel prepaid service for more than 1 month. But in return, I have got such a bad service that I don't have words to say nothing about it.
A customer care representative was sent by Airtel call center on my request to my office (Mirae asset Investment Pvt ltd, Kalina, Santacruz (E.) as I was interested in migrating to postpaid connection. That guy (called Mr. Rajesh and Mr. T.M.Gokul from Airtel Service center, c/20,Station Plaza, Bhandup (w.) Mumbai 400 078. His number is [protected]. Also he has given me his seniors number, Mrs Sarika-[protected], and Mr. Mangesh-[protected] - Airtel authorized point, as is a complete liar and gave me wrong information. First he explained me about the plan which is 199-good value, as i told him I want only 199 maximum bill on each and every month I don't want more than that he told me ok we will give u the same as what u want, I said ok, and I clearly spoke with his seniors also i don't want more than that bill if it will more pls stop my outgoing and they told me ok we will do that. My post paid connection was activated after 3 days after paying Rs 600/- as the initial charge. They told me its deposit amount which will be refundable after discontinue the services. And after that when i saw the bill it shows me the bill amount Rs. 289/- Plus Extra money in advance for the next month. I called up in call center and checked they told me yes this amount is advance payment which has been taking from you. I said buy why in advance they are saying me its a airtel rule, as per rule u have to go.
Then after 1 month its suddenly my outgoing and incoming is stop i don't understood what is happen , i called to bhandup airtel service center from which i have converted the prepaid to postpaid, when i was call in the morning to Sarika she told me u have to go to airtel gallery and sort out by own this issue i don't know why your outgoing and incoming is stopped. Again i called to call center they told me ur card is still prepaid, I shocked, i said but i am using for one month as a postpaid and they send me the bill also so how u can say like that. Gain i called up to the Bhandup Service center they asking me stupid questions like ur card is verified or not, when the service is activated on your mobile, after than they told me your mobile will work up to evening. After that again I called in the call center and i am again surprised one representative told me our card is postpaid i said yes i know but your guys is telling no your card is still prepaid. Ohhh my god... after that he told me lie he again saying ohhhh sorry sir can u tell me your number again and he replied me yes ur number is postpaid.
And when i asked before in Bhandup service center if suppose i don't like plan then u will convert my plan into prepaid immediately at that time they told me yes within 3 days. And now i just inquired that guys they told it will take 45 days.
How they can run a such a big organizations with ppl of such questionable integrity??? Airtel authorized center send fake representatives with the whole intention of trapping the customers!!! Airtel call center gives the wrong information!!! It means customers are helpless!
I feel like moving to consumer court its simply ridiculous public nuisance! Today I have lost my important contacts so that why i have lost my one lac rupees, who will bare my loss.
I would be very thankful if something can be done and also it will be very consoling for me if the authority of Airtel service center, c/20, 2nd Floor, Station Plaza, Bhandup (West). Has canceled so in future they might not trap other customers!

My mobile with airtel prepaid connection does not work inside aiims hospital campus. I had conveyed this to the airtel customer care services about 2 months back but till now there is no improvement at all. The voice keeps breaking and calls get disconnected every 30 seconds; this has become a daily affair and doctors in aims are fed up with the poor signals of airtel and its poor customer complaint redressal. Shortly many of us will be forced to change from airtel if present situation continues.
I brought a new toshiba laptop 10 days back which has pcmcia slot... Having been a airtel customer for its mobile service for the last eight years, decided to opt for a airtel data card to browse the web on my laptop. Got in touch with vioice & data solutions, bharati airtel ltd (Complete address # 513, 16 cross, off cmf road, indiranagar ii stage, bangalore - 38). They told me the various tariff plans and said the card would cost rs 4999/. I agreed and requested whether somebody could be sent to do the installation. They agreed, but it took two whole days and innumerable calls before a sales guy called anand [protected]) turned up. He took the money, installed the card and promised to activate it the same day. He tried to install what airtel calls global mobility manager... After repeated attempts he failed to install the software.
He promised to come back but never turned up for another two days (I kept calling as he had taken my money and left me with an inactive data card). Finally he brought his 'senior' engineer, guy called hamid, who also could not install the software. Promised to come back with an even senior guy.
They again took another 3 days before a chap called santosh kumar ([protected]) turned up... He fiddled around for an hour and then finally announced "u have windows vista on your laptop that is why it wont work... Pls get windows xp installed... " I couldn't fathom his gall... If this is really true shame on airtel, if they can't get their data card to work with vista.
I demanded my money back and they said you have to contact 121 for that and sort the issue out. Here everybody is passing the buck and I am asked to contact 7070 who in turn direct me back to 121. Even as I write I am struck with a useless inactive datacard and my money is gone along with my piece of mind...
I received a message from airtel-karnataka on 05/30/2007 saying that recharge for 135 and get talktime 165, i did same but i got talk time of 117 only. This is really frustrating and to complain this there is no customer care.
So please be aware of this.
I had always believed that airtel is the best service provider. But to my disappointment i found it vice versa. I had airtel postpaid connection which was to be converted to prepaid. I had applied on 21st may 07 for a conversion from postpaid to prepaid and I was given an assurance that within 48hours it would get converted. I am sorry to state that in spite of my repeated visits to your DOMBILVLI ARC after 48 hours of expiry, nothing was done about it. On 28th when again I visited I was told by the supervisor MISS. NAMRATA that there is an outstanding bill of Rs 8 to be cleared. I fail to understand that it took them 144 hours to convey the same to me, which they could have done it as they had my residence number.
On the 28th again after clearing my outstanding bill I was assured by miss. Namrata that within 24 hours it will be converted wherein it was not so. Again I visited your Dombivili ARC met her again, and she said there’s some technical problem. When asked to give in writing she flatly refused. Wherein again I have been assured that by 9:00pm that is 30th may 07. It will be converted and it will start.
Could you explain to me how many times a customer should visit your gallery for such a small thing, wherein we claim that we are in the 21st century being where customer service and satisfaction is our motto. I found that your dombivili ARC way of working is worst than the government office. How much precious time, money and mental stress I have undergone by traveling from Ambarnath to Dombivili. I hope you will look into the matter and the working of your Dombivili branch so that the customers are not put to hardship.
I am an airtel customer, if i send a message (ISD)t o my friend from my mob, he is not getting that. Last 3 days I have lost 30 rs . That i spoke with customer care executives. They told that this problems of Etisalat (UAE Mobile service provider). But h is getting messages from other mobile nos. except mine. Anyone has the same problem?
I have Airtel lifetime prepaid card with daily decrement of Rs.1.50 with local call charge at Rs.0.49/min. with a Rs.1400/- one time payment. It was launch in March'07. Just to capture the market they had launched the scheme. Now just in three months Airtel are going to hiked and double the call rate to Rs.0.99/min. from June'07, which is a totally fraud with the customers. As when the scheme was in the market at that time there where many other scheme of different service providers much beneficial than this with the hiked rate, I (and many others) would have opted for that. Means Airtel policy is that introduced scheme with low call rate with high one time payment, capture the market than where are the customers going to go as they have paid huge amount for the service which Airtel is not going to give Refund. And than Airtel says we are largest subscriber with counting millions of customer with such fraud scheme.
Mobile num [protected]. Bard from 19-05-07 without any intimation. All documents submitted to m/s carving telecom, patratu, dist - hazaribag, jharkhand. Which reached to patna airtel control room on 22-05-07. Several request is being made to retrieve the connection till date, but after passing one week connection has not been started.
I am the using airtel post paid connection since 1999. I am caring the same no. In 1999 i deposited Rs.3000/for the local call, Rs.3000/ for the S.T.D. and 18th or 19th AUG2002 i deposited Rs.7500/ forI.S.D. roaming and phone was working out of India. Now i went to china i informed airtel that i am going china on such an such date please make sure that my ISD is active or not then person told me it will active with in a four hour. I went to china phone was not working then i send the s.m.s from my friend's phone then i got the sms that i must deposit Rs.7500/ for this. I can not understand what they are doing, when i came back from china then again i called customer care then EXU. was telling that it was wrong it was our mistake your deposit is with airtel Rs.7500/for ISD roaming i am sorry you will not face any problem in future. But who will cover my lose?
My complaint is regarding the different scheme that Airtel is introducing and not keeping in constantly and consistently. I've been using the Airtel booster pack since March 2007. The Booster pack is for calling any airtel mobile [email protected] Rs.0.10. After the first month I had made a recharge for Rs.97 on 23rd of April and on 25th I had received a message from Airtel that the usage of Booster pack is limited to 30 minutes per day. I'm really disappointed with this kind of scheme.
You've offered a scheme that will be beneficiary to both the customer and service provider. So upon this new scheme we customer take the responsibility to use this scheme and if found satisfied we continue to use the same and for which we are paying.
What's is the point in limiting the usage time without prior information to the customer?
Prior Information should be given prior to recharge and not after the recharge. When you change the plan of the scheme you should give at least a month of time. I have changed my plan from STUD49 and migrated to BUD and STUD. Now I'm in totally in mess not able to change the plan not able to use the booster plan to my satisfaction. It levies me a lot to pay more than what I had been using in STUD49.
I feel that Airtel is now in a mode of charging more to the customer. I really feel good with the service but these kind of sudden change really frustrate customer. I can even say that Airtel is "cheating" in terms of new schemes and after introduction it change the scheme in favor of itself and trapping the customer like me.
Since I had been with Airtel for 2+years as of now, I had indicated a lot of faults to Airtel so that both will be benefited and introduce a lot more customer to Airtel. Even if I now decide to change my service I could not do so as such I had spread my mobile no.
With these issue I had made complaint to the customer care, TL Ms.Hema has declined my request to talk with the manager in this Booster pack Issue.
Nowadays I do find that there is lot of congestions with the Airtel Network and in this regard also I had made complaint to the customer desk and till date it has not bee sorted out. Whenever Some one tries to reach me, they had to try so many time to call me and I too face the same problem reaching the Airtel Customer itself. I'm getting as "All line in this route are busy, please try after sometime" .
I have broadband connection of Airtel and for the past one month it has not been working at all. I have continuously lodged complaints but to no avail. Everytime one needs to talk to a new customer care executive, they will make false promises and nothing would happen. So far 4 technicians have visited my house but could not rectify the error and end of the day its the customer who is suffering. I have requested & shouted but Airtel is least bothered. They harass the customer so badly and on top of that when I am asking them to disconnect the services they would not do that either.
The technicians who visit the house come at their sweet own time assuming that the customer is just waiting for them to give a red carpet welcome. One of the technicians came to my house around 9.00 PM and when he could not resolve the issue until 10.00 PM he promised to come in the morning. Since then that morning has yet to come.

I am writing to share my frustrating experience with airtel in the us: I registered & bought a talk time card for $5 in dec06. When I received my credit card statement, I found that not only did they charge me $5 but they also charged another $50 on my credit card without my confirmation. I called on 30 dec06 the helpline & I was given the sr number: 285551 with a promise that they would get back to me earliest.
After waiting for 1 month & not hearing from them through mail or phone called them & was assured of resolution - they said they will get back in a month. I patiently waited for 2 months and called them back on 02 april07. They filed a case sr number: 358802 and promised to help. But nobody called or mailed.
On this day I also closed the account. They gave me a refund of $5 but the actual issue of debiting my account with $50 for which I was following up for so long was still not resolved.
On april 26th, we got very frustrated and called/emailed them. They asked us to send the transaction details which we sent them. We gave them the transaction date: 8th december 2006, transaction amt: $50 & the reference number.in our credit card statement it clearly shows that the transaction was done by "bhartiairte [protected] ny [protected] description cellular telephone".
To this they sent a reply saying that they had refunded an amount of $5 to us already. [this was not even our issue - our issue was about the extra $50 that they had charged us]. We were all the while following up about the $50 which they had debited to our account without our permission and they replied about something else.
Now, having gone through all this-we called our credit card company to dispute this charge of $50 but since the number of days since the txn is more than 90 days they said it wouldn't be able to help.
I fail to understand how a company like airtel would be so irresponsible and be so unethical in answering a consumer complaint. They first ignored the customer for a long time and then they responded to a wrong issue, and now they refuse to take any responsibility of the txn.
I have brought to the notice of Airtel Mobile Services on several occasions that my Voice Mail Service once activated was deactivated (without my knowledge) and activated (on my talking to them) and once again deactivated (without my knowledge). Is this company playing a regular hide and seek activity with their customers or is it always necessary to lodge your complaints with the complaint board to make them function properly. Please note that I am not interested in their connection for payment only but for their prompt services too.
The manner in which their customer service department handles their issues they could be running out of my and other good customers business soon, may be they are not interested in individual business and writing on this site is a way I could warn my friends and acquaintances. During the last discussions with their customer service I was informed that the VMS is active; which was a blatant lie. This company teaches persons to tell lies and lies only, with such bogus staff they deserve a royal blast.
I get calls from their customer service departments like "liar kings" of Airtel (at the back of my ###) and also with Text message (SMS) that they are trying to contact me when I am on a flight and that they would call after 4 hours but no call is received. Why do this company live on lies and money out of lies? May be that's the easiest way to make money for them.
They have to change their attitude towards public service or this company will certainly be listed in most complained list (82 now) internationally and will be soon in the gunnies book of world record for lies and a lousy service.
I think this is cheating their ignorant management and the Indian public, besides the shareholders by persons not responsible for their actions and consequences, for a quick buck.
Hope the message is clear and I expect their reply at the earliest and also stop this fooling business soon. The irony is that their web service is redundant for lodging complaints and servicing the needs of the customers, but only for their payment details.
Without my request or my knowledge airtel have deducted for membership for some entertainments services like love. It had been noticed that lot of unwanted sms stuffs and invitation calls are received which disturbs during office recehours / meetings. Expecting a better service from this mobile service provider in future.in name of entertainments please dont fool the customers by deducting from the credits without their knowledge or acceptance.
Today I had recharged for rs. 122 and received a erecharge sms saying talktime credited rs.108.58, mrp 122.00, trans id [protected]
When I checked the balance with *123# it was showing only rs.90. When checked with a customer service officer by dialing 121 received an information that I had been deducted for subscribing for entertainment service like love.
When I complained that I never request or subscribe that service he told me to sms to unsubscribe. Very bad service!
I received [protected] dated 21-April-2007 against number telephone number [protected] . This was cleared vide cheque no. 666656 dated 24-04-07 drawn on HDFC bank, Kalkaji. Account number mentions on invoice is 102-[protected].
1. In spite of my clearing the bill of 21-April-2007 I get calls from AIRTEL that I have not paid. I discussed the matter on their helpline number 121. The outcome of discussion is that AIRTEL has generated two bills against my telephone number [protected]. This mistake must be corrected by them only. According to a SMS message sent by AIRTEL they gave a a service request number [protected] with a commitment to sort out by Wednesday 16 May, 2007 by 1000Hrs. Without concluding the matter they have disconnected my number. Why; I want to know my fault from AIRTEL. In fact I have not received the second bill from AIRTEL Probably they have sent the bill to my old address, telephone number?
2. AIRTEL have messed-up my mailing address too. According to their mail dated 02-April-2007 they have confirmed my mailing address but they keep sending the bill at old address.
I want AIRTEL to tell me single valid reason for discontinuing my outgoing calls. Why such a harassment to the customer?
