I purchased a round-trip ticket for my wife from Phoenix AZ to Paris France for $2880.53 (XOEFRQ). The ticket was listed as changeable at no charge. When we changed the return date from August 30 to September 22, Air France charged us an additional $1238.50, claiming that they changed the fare basis. When I asked for a refund of the $1238.50, they canceled the flight.
At this point, we have paid $4119.03 (1238.50 + 2880.53) and have not received what we paid for, a round-trip flight, only the one-way flight to Paris.
The Air France website shows that seats are still available for $1728.43.
I request Air France refund the additional fee of $1238.50 and honor their commitment to provide a return flight for my wife at no additional charge.
I have filed complaints with the French MTV and the US Department of Transportation.
Claimed loss: $2880.53
Desired outcome: I request Air France refund the additional fee of $1238.50 and honor their commitment to provide a return flight for my wife at no additional charge.
