I, like many of you ladies, recieved a charge of $4.95 on my bank account but it was under web access along with an 866 # so after some research online reading many of your stories I decided to call the # [protected]) and they answered right away said customer service may I help you & I told them what happened & he put me onhold for about 5 mins then transfered me to a lady who said I was automatically signed up for a secrets & insiders club that was a monthly charge. I asked her to cancel it and with in a few mins she cancelled my automatic subscription, make sure you ask for a refund though! I asked her would this money be refunded back into my account & she said well you didnt ask for a refund, so I asked her to please refund my money back into my account & she politely said yes it should be back into your account within 5 to 10 days.

Call them on [protected] and persist until you actually get to speak with someone, and tell them you want a full refund. I was owed £101.45 - I have managed to get £78 back (seem to have lost about £12 on the exchange rate) but (not yet!) the last two charges for shipping she told me she would also refund. I was incredibly polite, as well as incredibly resolute that they would be refunding me when I spoke to them - she tried to fob me off with a single refund on the grounds that the product might subsequently arrive. It took weeks and weeks to get sorted, and its not over yet - but at least I finally have the majority of my money back. Good Luck!

I didn't even order a free trial of the product, but I received two bottles of pills in the mail. Then my credit card statement showed more than a hundred dollars of charges. I don't know how they got the credit card number. This company is a rip-off.

This company is a complete scam. Our credit card company is very aware of their activities. They set up a series of "subscriptions" for small amounts, apparently this bit is legal because of a load of small print on the agreement.

Ironically, my wife actually received product from them (more than a lot of people did) but a week later very weird fraudulent transactions appeared. We believe the two are linked, so it seems this "company" is selling/renting/giving away card details.

This is 100% a scam. Don't attempt to buy from the company. Source your supplements from somewhere reputable - you might pay a bit more but you'll be far less likely to be fleeced by these scam artists.

I 100% agree with this complaint! I had to go through 2 weeks of consistently calling their 800 number and double checking their shipment of my returned product for them to refund $64 to my account. I had about 5 different charges to my account withing several weeks and not anyone could help me out especially my bank. I had to change my bank card # to stop all these random charges ALL BECAUSE OF ACAI BURN!

I agree with everyone on here. Do not order anything from this company, especially if you saw a posting on a social website or a job website. However, if you call and talk with Bonnie she is extremely understanding and helpful. She refunded everything including the shipping charges. Good luck!

THEY STILL BILLED ME AND CONTINUE TO BILL ME!
They told me they did not bill me that is was their partner company.
I asked them who gave them the authority to give their partner company my credit card info, they had no answer.
BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM, THEY WILL BILL YOU VERY SINGLE WEEK WITH A DIFFERENT COST, I AM POSITIVE THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO GET ACAI BERRY!

I too got scammed! So much for $4.95, I returned the product w/in a week and they said it would take 2 billing cycles to get my refund! You need to call your bank and have them blocked! I was extremely ticked off when I reviewed my bank statement and there was an additional charge for Insider Secrets. I called and cancelled Acai burn and that's when I learned that I had been signed up for Insider Secrets. So when I cancelled Acai burn they gave me the number for Insider Secrets, but conveniently forgot to inform me about CW (Comprehensive Weight loss). It wasn't until I saw another charge on my acct! It is ABSOLUTELY A SCAM! I will NEVER purchase anything like this again! I will also Contact the BBB, because this needs to be stopped.

Hi, I like many of you got scammed big time. I've lost over $290 and I'm trying to get my money back. Because of the currency conversion the charges on my credit card has double the charge.

I've tried like a million times calling the # [protected] but the operator keeps saying 'the number you have dialed is not in service". I'm confused because many of you have gotten through.

I have other charges on my card by "Membership 800... and Dietpill 800..." Can anyone please help me with these two names?

I received the pills but 6 weeks late and with no packing slip with it, but only a letter (with the Breast Cancer Logo on it) from a person called "Sarah Nicholson" - did anyone else get this letter?

It sucks to be scammed big time!

Normally i'm really careful when ordering things online. I guess I was drawn in my the free trial stuff I didn't realise i was signing up to a membership. Luckily i've only just ordered and I realised there so i called up my bank and cancelled my credit card which will prevent them charging me any further.

I think that we all should write the Oprah show to let them know they backed a scam product that caused lots of poor people a lot of money they could not afford and they should check into these things a little closer before they back it on national TV.

I also signed up for the trial and was told that my membership was cancelled for autoship. So I asked how I could get more of the product. The woman told me about the two buying options. i asked if I would have to sign up for ANY MEMBERSHIP. She said no, so I assumed it was the truth but little did I know it was a complete lie.I ordered the buy three get two free option and was excited to get this wonderful product. Well, I soon found out that there were memberships involved. When I called the number next to the transactions on my bank statement, I was furious to hear that didn't cancel any membership s at all! I had two memberships but for what? I only got pills and nothing else. So I called two more times to cancel and what do you know, still got charged again. I will not recommend this company to anybody. I read the small print and made sure I was cancelled for the memberships. I disputed them with my bank and filed a complaint with BBB.

I totally agree, i ordered acai burn crap on 3rd March 2009. Within two to three weeks of that date, i have been receiving anonymous calls with no call back numbers. Further to the initial $4.95 order, i have been enrolled on E-books, insiders secrets, acaiburn extreme and God knows what else. The most annoying thing is that you have to call all of them individually to cancel or else they will continue to charge your card. Also make sure you cancel your card and get a new one. The numbers required are as follows:

1. [protected] -For insiders secrets and Acaiburn Extreme
2. [protected] -For Acaiburn
3. [protected] -For Comprehensive weight Loss (E-Book)
4. [protected]-For Acai Burn extreme.

NOTE: Please note that you must call to cancel Acaiburn extreme (Costs $29.95 and $39.95 which is different from AcaiBurn (Costs $59.95) as they will not cross cancel for you. Similarly, demand a refund (as in ask for it).

The most annoying thing with this nightmare, one click gets into many different accounts yet one call cant cancel these many companies.

KEEP AWAY FROM ACAI AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES.

For the customers who placed the order for acai burn out of the United States, Please Read this.
I ordered the free trial acai berry from Australia and I decided i wanted to cancel the order.
I tried to call [protected] through public phone, cell phone, and home phone and i just couldn't get through the number. The call constantly got disconnected while the auto machine was talking.
I finally came up with the idea of using SKYPE. It's a free internet phone program. I use it to talk to my family and friends and you can actually make a call to a real number through this program. And it's free. just select the United States from the country section, and put the number [protected]. You need a microphone to talk to the person. The lady who got my phone call was very helpful. Don't panic guys, it is obviously a scam and the acai berry company's got a pretty dirty way to scrape all the money but we all learned a lesson; Read the terms and conditions before giving any of our credit information.
I canceled the order and I get charged 59.95 American dollar.

It's a scam, I got ripped off $60.32, after trying their Free Trial product, the product didn't even help me lose an inch.

Please bear in mind that the company's location is in CYprus! Nicosia! that's in the middle east, i mean.. the middle of nowhere eventually, because that small island has no internet law that can protect you from FRAUD!

You will be very lucky if you can return your money!
If you try to call them, the answering machine will ridicule you! they accept no REFUND! this company should be sued after burning it to the ground!

I too had the same result. I paid the 4.95 and then found the 79.00 charge plus a web charge as well. I can't seem to get a hold of them on the phone. They are really a web fraud site. Don't order from them. I never received a second bottle to warrant a charge.

I tried the acai burn and the cleansing pill. I have not yet to see any progress in my weight. They did not curve my appetite or give me energy. I don't recommed this product to anyone. I was sucessful in the return of my products. I have contacted my credit card company to stop any future charges from these companies. Good luck to those who are still having trouble with their return issues.

Every one of your posts are right on - happened to me too. I am very skeptical usually. About once every 10 years I have relearn my lesson! ugh

I am out 2 times $59.95 until I sent the shipment back. A shipment of 3 bottles I didn't order. (or didn't know I ordered) They arrived with no documentation with them too. Very strange. I have cancelled and when they receive the bottles back they are suppose to refund the monies charged. I got the whole speil about insuring the package, etc too.

I am also out $9.95 for some other subscription. And 2 $4.95 charges. I cancelled but they say they can't refund. UGH again.

I just called my credit card company and had them cancel the card and reissue the card so this will stop.

Nothing is ever "free" in life. I should have known! Stupid scam companies.

I only paid for the $4.95 charge for shipping and handling for my "Free 30 day trial" and the next thing I know my the following month I've been charged an extra $100 on my account with and my bank too out an overdrafting fee because of this mess. When I tried to find a number for AcaiBurn, there was a non-existing number listed. I was very upset because these people are taking money from my tuition for college that I really need. I don't have a job so this makes it even worse.

Another one on this Complaint board:

Consumers Warned to Avoid 2 Supplement Sales Sites
BBB warns consumers of 2 companies that use Oprah, other celebrity names, to sell supplements
NEW YORK January 7, 2009

The BBB on Monday named Central Coast Nutraceuticals Inc. of Phoenix and FX Supplements of Arlington, Texas, as two companies that engage in misleading sales and marketing practices. At least part of the issue is their use of "negative option marketing" techniques that require customers to cancel recurring orders or membership in ongoing programs they may or may not be aware they've signed up for. BBB said it received numerous complaints from consumers who found it difficult to cancel the orders, and were often charged multiple times.

BBB also criticized the companies for using what appear to be endorsements from Oprah Winfrey, Rachel Ray and other celebrities for their products to lure customers in. "They knew they had a gold mine here by using Oprah's name, " said BBB spokeswoman Alison Preszler-Southwick.

Both Web sites feature photos of and comments made by Winfrey and others regarding the reported health benefits of acai (pronounced AH-sigh-ee), along with identical photo montages of other stars who have purportedly used acai to boost their diets. While neither site specifically claims endorsement of their products, the BBB said the tactic misled consumers who thought the products were getting the nod of approval from their favorite stars.

Someones Complaint on this website:

Acai Berry SCAMS - Beware Free Trial SCAMS

Got this from doing a search through CNN.News.com

"FREE TRIAL OFFERs" FOR ACAI BERRY ARE NOT FREE!
In fact they will cost you more than 4 TIMES AS MUCH as it should cost per bottle. These scammers will charge your credit card at least $80 per bottle each month. That more than twice as much as quality freeze-dried acai berry should cost. And to make it worse, they send you crappy drum dried Acai Berry, which cost about 1/2 as much to produce. So you end up paying at least 4 times more per bottle than you should.

YOU WILL BE SIGNED UP FOR A SUBSCRIPTION
Yes, they say they just charge you for shipping. If that were so, it wouldn't be bad. But in reality, they just want your credit card number and will bill you every month for a subscription you didn't sign up for. They bury the fine print in their terms and conditions.

YOU WILL SPEND HOURS TRYING TO CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION
There will either be noone to contact to return the crappy product, or they will say you have to call their customer service number to get return authorization. When you do, you are put on hold and shuffled between different people until you give up. Don't believe me? Before you purchase, call or email them and say you did not sign up for a subscription and please stop sending the product. You will get the runaround

THEY WILL SHIP YOU A CRAPPY, NEARLY WORTHLESS NO NAME BRAND OF ACAI BERRY SUPPLEMENT
They don't expect you to be happy with the product. They don't care, so they make even more money by shipping you crap. Acai Berry supplements must be freeze dried, or else they lose most of the nutrients and antioxidents. These scammers use cheap, heat processed Acai that cost 1/2 as much. Read more about choosing a quality supplement

THEY OFTEN BUNDLE OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE SUBSCRIPTION TO CHARGE YOU EVEN MORE
It's really obscene what some of these scammers do. We've listed a common offer below, where they bundle additional offers if you do not deselect the checkbox (it's checked by default). Some are hitting people with $150 a month in charges.

Cindy,
You are not just getting to the "Scam of things"... the BBB, Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General's office in pretty much most of these States are aware of this...

I think the sad thing is, the Scam Artist and those of you in other Countries... know how easy it is to put together a fake website with a bogus product and charge up Our cards... you take advantage of the innocent Consumers who are use to buying online and know that the System online has not quite figured out how to make the laws strict enough from stopping crooks like You.

This company is a fraud, they charge you things that you don't even need or use at all, such as the internet access, which are only suggestions about eating, so it shows that this product is not a "magic bottle" like they say. I cancelled my membership and after that, they still keeping charging for membership, it seems that they have like three different ones. I wouldn't recommend this product, try to to buy something different and buy it from stores, it is the safest way.

For Australian orderers, the numbers will say 'disconnected' or you will call another company. in front of the numbers place 0011. i ordered my products last night and am in the middle of cancelling them. i did order from acaiburn.com, so im not sure for other websites, but i had no trouble from 2 of the 3 companies. the 3rd is closed due to time zone differences so i am waiting for them to open.

Cancelling acaiburn [protected].30 am-9:00 pm MST)
Cancelling insider secrets [protected]:00 am-7:00 pm MST)
Cancelling comprehensive weight loss eBook: [protected] (sorry, not sure of times, though similar to acaiburn times)

there is a 24 day no charge period from the comprehensive weight loss, so they said i had no charges, will check and let you all know within the fortnight.

shipping will be charged for the acaiburn, but so long as i send them the bottle back, with the reason why i cancelled and the order number inside, along with the order number written on the outside they will refund the 59.95 and i will have no more charges. items need to have a tracking number when sent, so if any problems you give them that number and they will check, see where the bottle is and you will get the refund and it also needs to be insured.

the acai burn address is:

Acai-Burn USA
Army Road Distribution
3600 Army Post Road
De Moise, IA, 50321

be nice to the call centre people and they will help. I had Beatrice from Acai Burn and Linda from Comprehensive.
