Very Disappointed – Overcharged for Gold Bangle, No Response from Customer Service
On 24th July 2025, we purchased a gold bangle from PureGold Jewellery at Abu Dhabi Airport during a short transit. Due to limited time, we couldn’t verify the price properly at the counter. After returning home, we checked the purchase details and were shocked to find that we had been charged AED 11,653 for just 17 grams of gold – nearly three times the market price.
At the time, the gold rate was around AED 210 per gram, but the price charged works out to AED 685 per gram, which is completely unreasonable. We double-checked all calculations and have full proof of purchase.
We have tried to contact PureGold customer service multiple times, but have received no response. Even if this was a human error, the lack of support or follow-up is unacceptable. As we are not transiting through Abu Dhabi Airport again, we don’t know how to resolve this issue.
We trusted the brand and expected honesty and transparency. Unfortunately, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I hope someone from the company sees this and responds to resolve the matter.
