Hyundai - harassing phone calls

Hyundai motor finance starts making multiple harassing phone calls a day when my payment is not even late yet! Calls starting at 8am on Saturday morning. I did not receive a monthly bill this month, so my payment was a few days into the grace period, but still within the grace period. I will never do business with Hyundai finance, and possibly Hyundai motors, ever again.

Hyundai warranty

I am extremely disappointed with the way Hyundai chooses to DISHONOR its "bumper-to-bumper" warranty...which seems to be useless!
When the check engine light came on in my 2008 Hyundai Sonata, I immediately stopped at my regular service garage. A very reputable and honest company, I would like to add - the mechanic told me to get it to the dealer since it was still covered by the warranty.
Because I had to drive it home (just under 5 miles!) I called the Hyundai dealership in Alexandria, VA to make sure it was okay to drive it with the light on, and they said yes. But when I got home I noticed foul-smelling exhaust fumes when I got out of the car.
After speaking with the Corporate Customer Service Rep (who was very polite and patient about explaining the WARRANTY to me) I had the car towed to the Hyundai Dealer in Alexandria, VA - just to be sure that nothing else would be damaged.
It was "diagnosed" with a broken engine sensor which had been short-circuited I asked if it was a covered repair: "NO. It is damage from an outside source, apparently some kind of rodent chewed through the wires."
You can imagine how surprised I was!
The damage was not THEIR fault...but nowhere in the warranty does it state anything other than an act of God, abuse, neglect or improper maintenance as reason to default on the warranty coverage of repairs.
When I called Customer Service at Hyundai America, a rep named Olivia, said animal damage is NOT covered in the warranty as it is an "OUTSIDE SOURCE".
What a bunch of BOGUS CRAP! I wonder why they even bother providing the Warranty at all...it is apparently useless.
Now I am stuck having to pay nearly $500 in repairs! If I had known the warranty would not be honored I'd have taken it to my regular mechanic who is honest and fair in his dealings with his customers...and has never gouged anyone by charging outrageous fees for repairs!(JAPANESE AUTO SERVICE, Annandale Rd., Falls Church, VA)
I considered having the car towed from the dealership to my regular mechanic but the tow charges would have been more than $150. After all the frustration and disgust it seemed a moot point...so the dealer is doing the work, after all.
In the future I will NEVER take my car back to a Hyundai Dealership...I will consider the warranty null and void...since the reality of "BUMPER TO BUMPER coverage is semantics - no basis in reality whatsoever!
Disgusted

Hyundai I was scammed by 401 dixie hyundai

I went to dealership to look at used cars. 2 sales personnel convinced me to look at new. They wrote up a bill of sales and told me that if I signed it I could go home and think about it and my finance over the weekend, and if I decide that I do not want the vehicle, they will refund my deposit and hold me to nothing. They claimed my signature is simply for them to check my credit, and so I can use the VIN number to get insurance quotes. They seemed very very nice, and after they assured me of the above several time, I signed and went home to think. Next day I returned for a test drive. I told them that I did not like the colour as I did not see the vehicle before I signed. They changed the colour and send me home to think and return on Monday with a decision. Needless to say, when I returned on Monday and decided NOT to purchase, they flipped the script on me. Now they claim they will take legal actions to make me pay. I trusted them. They lied to me. They scammed me. Had they not promised and assured me that my signature is not binding unless I come back in 3 day with a decision to purchase, I would not have signed. Don't buy from 401 Dixie Hyundai. They are stone-faced liars. They are unethical, and lack integrity and decency. Warn your friend and relatives. DO NOT BUY FROM 401 DIXIE HYUNDAI.

Hyundai hyundai

i purchased my second hand Hyundai ATOS in October 2010, the sales consultant Tertius just never seems to return calls. I am to date still waiting for him to tell me when i can collect my spare keys. Each time he apologises but he just never comes back to me. My other disappointment is that the ATOS i feel cannot handle the strong wind, i battle to keep it on the road and to stay within my lane especially when the wind is so strong. In January this year i drove from Brackenfell to Kleinmond and back, i was sweating and my legs where shaking, i thought i was going to be blown with car and all into the sea as the wind was extremely strong. Yes it is economical but hell it is just not what i bargained for. Your comments and feedback would be appreciated.

Hyundai warranty coverage

So today it was time to take my 2010 Tucson in for it's first service/Oil change (6000km), and of course I had a list of things I wanted corrected or looked at.

One of the issues I wanted fixed was the left hand License plate light lens. I don't know if you noticed but the lens is only held in with a plastic clip and when I pushed on the clip with my thumb it broke off (left side only, the right side was fine). So I stuck a piece of tape on it to hold it in and told the dealer I wanted it fixed. So when I go to get my car the dealer says the light is not under warranty as it is broken...

I respond with: "yes your right it broke when I tried to remove it" and they said well since it broken we can't replace it, but if it was defective we could have. So when I say the reason it broke was OBVIOUSLY due to it being defective they say no sorry if it was a defect it would have leaked and then we could have replaced it.

So being more then a little annoyed I told them I wanted to talk to Hyundai Canada and I was given the number. So guess what? They told me the same thing.

Is it just me or this a little stupid? It is not under warranty because it broke, but didn't it break because it was defective?

So in the end I had to buy the lens myself. Really not a good first impression with Hyundai, since this is the first Hyundai that I have owned.

Think Twice before you purchase a Hyundai for it's warrenty, if the part is "broken" it is not covered.

Bought a new Hyundai Elentra in 2010 September . By the end op 2011 April my car was loosing its paint on both sides from the front to the back . By begining of June it started to rust .
I have complained to the dealer, Hyundai Canada, BBB. I wastold all this problem was from normal wear and use . You are kidding me ! Driving on pawed roads is wearing the paint off ? I should have put my car in the garage and leave it there .
I am stuck wit a rusting away car and will have to make paiments on it for another 6 years and 3 months. It sucks to be me .

I was involved in an accident with my 2007 Santa Fe. I was traveling 60 Kms/per hour when another vehicle crossed my line of travel and I hit her. The crash also pushed me into another vehicle in another lane of traffic.
None of the 6 air bags in my Santa Fe deployed.
Everyone with a Hyundai should check to see if their airbags are truly working.

Hyundai deceptive sales

We had our Hyundai Veracruz in for inspection and oil change, and the service manager recommended a "fuel induction service" for approximately $150... He explained that this service involved passing a chemical cleaning solution through the fuel injectors that would ensure proper acceleration and "PREVENT THE GAS PEDAL FROM STICKING". I was shocked to hear that I could have a problem with the gas pedal sticking - so I asked "Really - this service will prevent my accelerator pedal from sticking?" and his response was "ABSOLUTELY".

First off - detergents in gasoline are what keeps fuel injectors clean, and is completely unnecessary. Second - this treatment does nothing to address accelerator pedal sticking issues, even if there were issues, which there are none reported (i.e. like Toyota issues).

This is a scare tactic to sell unnecessary services and is essentially theft by deception. Take your service business to someone you can trust.

Hyundai door lock issues

I have a 2010 Santa Fe Limited. When placing the car in park, all doors are programmed to unlock. The problem is that the rear doors (mostly the right rear passenger door) will not open. The child safety lock is NOT engaged. This occurs at least three out of five times the car is driven. Even after pressing the power lock button, the door will not open. I can't even manually unlock the door. Someone frequently has to get out of the car and open the door from the outside. The problem I have is that it has been to the dealership on two occasions and the service technician has not been able to recreate the problem. This is a major safety issue! In the event of an accident, my 14 year old daughter would not be able to get out of the car. I have never sued someone in my life, but if this door lock problem were to cause added injury to anyone in my family, a landmark case would be filed. This problem not being repaired is highly unacceptable and my time wasted thus far attempting to get resolution has been excessive.

Hyundai dishonesty

I have been a ### runaround person which I received from Hyundai staff and their management team. The first day I have approached, a salesman at the Hyundai used car department in Umhlanga, I asked him for
a second hand vehicle, he therefore told me I have a Hyundai Get z 2005 for R50 000. He told me he needs to speak to his manager who will be back after 2 days. Failing to service me has a customer he kept lying and ###ting me, that my manager will be in shortly, which was now gone 3 days, I have been to Hyundai the forth day and personally had spoken to the manager of the used cars department, then he referred me to another salesman. This salesman had told me they need to first do the following procedures of the company standard and load the car into the computer of which is called Bet to buy, of where Car Dealers view these second hand cars and bid their money on it. The fifth day the same salesman told me the car has not been sold and it is still available, I took my family member to view the vehicle and she even spoke to the salesman, so we knew it was a guarantee sale to us, the salesman also told me to go to the bank and organised the money, which I already did, I therefore made arrangements and got my carh on hand. The six day of going with cash to Hyundai, this is the response I have received, now a different manager had come in the picture, he is the principal manager of Hyundai, a white gentlemen, he then "quoted" me he can sell me any other car except the Hyundai Get z, and he told me that I can do whatever I needed, but I can not purchase this Hyundai Get z and this is his business.
If this company is such a reputable car dealer, that advertises world wide about the Hyundai company, how can they make me run around like a mad person, I am a honest person looking to by a secondhand hand car, which was offered to me by Hyundai, overnights the decision was reversed, and the manager was so unhelpful to me, or is it just because I am not his skin color. I have waisted my time, energy, word, carry around R50 000 for nothing, I will please advise you guys if you like Hyundai and their cars, please watch out for their services, it's lies and nothing buy lies, I will be telling my friends and family about Hyundai and their customer service, what horrible experience and dissatisfied person I am right now.

Dear Hyundai
I am also a disappointed customer - I had purchased a I10 in 2012 and have had endless problems and the service is very bad especially when it comes to communication. Whenever my car went in for a Service I had brought to their attention that in 2012 I met with an accident when I got my car 3 months later from the accident there was a shudder on the right hand side when I break, my car is doing its 90km and they still cant find the problem - apparently I need to redo breaks and breakpads so for the past 3 years I've been driving a car that didn't have breaks? my Stereo control have been faulty for over 2 years a New part is still been order. Last week Thursday I took my Car to Hyundai Umhlanga for its 90k service - my right indicated has not been working apparently the stork is gone and Hyundai such a big service center don't stock the part they need to order it and will get back to me in 48hrs - I am still awaiting for someone to get back to me? I wonder I will tell a traffic cop if I get pulled over because my indicator isn't working - Hyundai is trying to find the part?

Hyundai clutch, clutch cable

To whom it may concern

Registration lexi zn
Hyundai i10

I am at the end of my tether I have brought my car in now over four times for the exact same complaint and each time I get told it is something else….
I got my car back on tuesday afternoon and by last night the noise was back and I can hardly get the car in to first gear and it is sticking in reverse as well.

I am a bookkeeper that gets paid per hour each and every time I have had to bring the car in and fetch it, it has cost me personally…..

I really need this to be addressed asap or I will have to go directly to hyundai and express my totally dissatisfaction with the way in which the problems have been
Not sorted out but compounded each and every time.

I know of someone who had the exact same noise as my vehicle I seems to depend on the weather and if the car has been sitting on a incline for the first couple of minutes driving
The car sounds like the breaks are worn and its as if steel is on steel….. The problem with their car was the fire wall and I expressed this the previous time I brought the car in
And was told no now it’s the clutch cable, so with a new clutch, new clutch cable I cant get the car in gear….

Please get back to me asap

In disgust

Hyundai 2011 sonata w/ 10 needs transmission after 1 week

Question?
If you purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 SE Turbo on Jan 5th 2011 with 13 miles when you pulled off the lot and a week later (Jan 12th 2011) were told it needs a NEW transmission would you be fine with the dealer replacing the transmission because it's under Warranty or would you want another NEW car?
This is the EXACT dilemma I am currently going through with Faulkner Hyuandai on Paxton Street. Paul Salvaggi the General Manager & Hyundai are hiding behind Warranties and paperwork with ordering and wanting to replace the transmission ins...tead of putting me into another NEW comparable Sonata.

I know it is not Mr. Selvaggio's fault the transmission is bad and it definitely is not my fault. I waited 10 years to purchase a NEW car and I want another NEW CAR not a "Fixed" New/USED car.

Hyundai's website with a message from Hyundai CEO Mong-Koo Chung states "Since its establishment, Hyundai has placed customer satisfaction as its highest priority — achieved only through meeting challenges head-on with our undying passion."
http://worldwide.hyundai.com/company-overview/ceo-message.html

Well, I'm here to tell you I'M NOT SATISFIED OR HAPPY!

When did doing "The Right Thing" become so difficult?

Hyundai car repir

I took my car to Jones Hyundai service deprtment to inspect my Hyundai for a steering problems. He informed me that I had a steering hose leakage. He also informed me I badly needed brake pads, an all wheel alignment, and a battery. The pre-estimate was $600.00 plus. I told him to fix only the hose leakage covered by my extended warranty and not to do the other repairs. He again warned me not to drive my car due to the brakes were in terrrible condition and a failed battery.

I took my car to another local car repair business to double check what the Jones service department found. The local service owner told me that my brakes and battery were in good condition. He also told me my car did not need an all wheel alignment. I paid the local business $15.00 to inspect what the Jones service department recommended was an emergency repair.

Life is good. I saved $600.00 plus.

Hyundai hyundai tiburon

Had Titus Will servicing my hyundai tiburon since purchased new. I had payed them 1200.00 for the 60, 000. mi. overhaul on it as recommended after purchased. And supposedly 700.00 worth of replacement parts on it. Then, found out shortly later after started having problems with the manual transmission took it in for a check up and they refused to use the two warrantees to look into my complaints on the car. Then they are now lying and telling people that I refused to allow them to look at it. after, I brought the car in. The transmission started going bad at 90, 000. mi.. They linkage just fell apart and now no one will honor the warrantees or the car. It is a manufacturer defect. Have had three cert. mechanics look at it, in my driveway and they say the same thing that this should never have happeded to the transmission, that the linkage just doesn't fall apart, unless it's a manufacturer problem. Purchased the car from Vancouver Hyundai in Vancouver, WA..
and they are refusing to honor the car also. Apparently, from what I'm told it's a rare tiburon. It's a 2005 Tiburon, GT with a V6 and a manual 5 speed transmission. Unable to even locate any used 5 speed transmissions for it. most are 6 speeds.
The car is toast, and I;m not able to get it fixed and it's still costing me 500.00 a month with payment and full coverage insurance related to being financed still for another year and a half. And unable to even to trade it in! All anyone wants to do is ask me to buy another one of their Hyundai's are you kidding, why? no one will even honor their product with this one that has turned out to be a lemon. HELP!

Hyundai 2010 tucson junk!

Since I purschased a 2010 Tucson in February of this year there has been nothing but problems with the vehicle. The service department is so overbooked that the mechanics simply do not have time to do safe work. The rear spoiler needed replacing, electronic brake system replaced and most recently the electronic power steering went. I had told the service department about the steering 2 months ago and they said it was fine. It ended up being a total safety hazard for me when all of a sudden I couldn't steer. I have a 7 year car loan for a total of $43, 000 and I feel totally taken advantage of by this dealership and would never recommend this company to anyone!

Hyundai refuse to take the blame

I brought 2 Hyundai in 2005, I am a 84 year old lady, I always had my car serviced at the dealer when was time .I have less than 50k on my car. I recently had a problem with my car running hot, had it checked out and found out that once when hyundai serviced my car they damaged the radatior and patched it up and never told me now I had to spend about 200.00 to get it fix and the store manager Byron Williams said that how do we know that this happened there, he said it could have happened at the factory. I said then your service people should have seen it then. This is my second time to post this complaint no one has ever call about this as a follow up what poor poor customer services and I will never use that service department again, I asked Mr. Byron tht when ur mothers has her car service do you go and check it out then with me being 84 why would I, I asked Byron if the shoe was on the other foot he would want something done

Hyundai retail installment sale contract has wrong monthly payment.

This is an opportunity for Cocoa Hyundai, Inc., and Hyundai Motor Finance to make right a wrong. My wife (age 80) has a memory problem, and I (age 83) have a hearing problem. We have no guarantee of life tomorrow, let alone an additional 6 years to pay-off a loan. We told the salesman that we have bad credit. Therefore, we asked about buying a used vehicle and, based on our income, we could possibly afford a monthly payment of less than $200.00. Various lenders apparently either immediately declined to offer credit, or delayed a decision. (i.e., AmeriCredit’s denial was dated about one month later). As such, a vehicle should not be released to any potential buyer pending approval of credit. In my opinion, the sales person apparently used undue influence to intimidate us to purchase a new vehicle. The salesman forced us to take immediate possession of the new vehicle in an apparent attempt to validate the sale despite pending approval by Hyundai Motor Finance, an apparent lender of last resort. Later at home, I reviewed the purported Retail Installment Sale Contract, and I realized that Cocoa Hyundai, Inc., arranged our payments to be more than $300 per month! When I immediately contacted the salesman, his excuse was that you could not take back the new vehicle because it was driven off the lot. That excuse is ridiculous because, pursuant to the Retail Buyer’s Order, subsection Financing Negotiation / Approval, if credit were rejected by any lender (i.e., Hyundai Motor Finance), then the RSIC would be void, and certainly Cocoa Hyundai, Inc., would have required return of the new vehicle. In-other-words, as a result of Cocoa Hyundai’s apparently negligent procurement of financing (the additional $120 payment per month), then the RSIC is void, and Cocoa Hyundai is absolutely required to take title and possession of the vehicle. I have not received contact from Hyundai Motor Finance about my concerns. Rather than working with me to resolve the issues, instead, Cocoa Hyundai’s attorney denied my claims. Meanwhile, my employment has been reduced by 30%. During the original sale, the salesman described a so-called "walk-away" provision such that a person like myself who sustained an economic loss (i.e., reduction of hours, lay-off, etc.) may simply return the vehicle. However, the "hoops" and "loopholes" make it impossible to do. A good public relations policy would be for Cocoa Hyundai, Inc., and Hyundai Motor Finance to resolve my concerns. They have my contact information.

I too have been screwed by Cocoa Hyundai. It was my very first new car. I was so excited to be getting a new car I completely misread the contract. The sticker on my car was $18, 480 and when I looked at the price of the car on the contract I though the number I was reading was the price AFTER tax, tags, license, etc.. Boy was I mistaken! They sold me the car for $21, 888! No special add-ons or anything, just a $3, 400 markup OVER sticker. Then they added tax, tags, etc... I didn't realize it until the excitment of buying the car wore off (later that night). I went back the next day to complain. Slim Jackson was the (crack dealer) salesman I dealt with and he just sent me on my way and told me that he would get the deal put back on the table and get me a better price. He then called me a few days later and told me again to hold on because he was going to get me a better deal. He never did. But he sure put a whole lot of effort into begging me to give him a good score on the Hyundai survey I was to recieve. I gave him as bad of a score as I possibly could. He was not happy about that. He actually called me, yelling at me, pissed off about his bad survey. I told him to NEVER contact me again. He does, this time by e-mail. The following is his e-mail to me,
"COSTOMERS LIKE YOU ARE HARD TO FIND, , , , SIR, , , IN ALL DUE RESPECT TO YOU, , , YOU CAME TO ME IN NEED OF A NEW CAR, , , I DID MY JOB, , , YOU HAD THE OPPTION, , , TO SAY NO, , , NOW YOU ARE BLAMING ME FOR WHAT YOU ASKED FOR, , , , , A GOOD DEAL, , , BUT YOU GAVE ME THE BAD SERVEY, , BUT THATS OK, , , , REV. DONNY (SLIM) JACKSON"

WOW! That is literally a copy and paste out of my e-mail.
He called me again a few months later. After that one I called the General Manager, Bill Wolfe, and told him that I did not want ANYONE from Cocoa Hyundai to contact me again. Bill says ok. Then, after another few months, I get another call from Slim Jackson. I reminded him that I asked him to never contact me again. He said he would make note of that this time.

My advice to anyone looking for a car, RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM COCOA HYUNDAI AS YOU CAN!

Cocoa Hyundai did exactly same thing to me. I am also a senior. They got me so confused and screwed me. I wanted a used car I could afford and instead would up with a $300 payment for a new car. Also said I didn't have enogh income to afford a used car but could get a new one. I would love to return this car and will continue to fight this until they take it back.

If I was you I would simply take it back to the dealership, give them the keys and walk away. I would not make another payment and just work around the bad credit report. I would also report this to the better business agency. Sometimes people need to work with our elders and take extra time for them to understand without making their life a living hell because they do not understand. I agree Hyundai dealership pushed this vehicle on you just for a sale...shame on them..

While they should have validated your request for monthly payments, no one can force you to purchase a new vehicle if you do not want one. You purchased that vehice of your own will, despite however they encouraged it. Additionally, you should always read the fine print to account for those "hoops and loopholes."

Hyundai car tradind

I would like to make a complaint for rendez-vous hyundai at 245 madawaska steet, grand falls nb, e3y 1a5... Daniel levesque the owner refuse to talk to me, they even call the police to tell me that I can`t call there no more... Want to know why... My neighbord took my 2009 suzuki sx4 and went to the dealer and trade my car for an hundai... The dealership never check if the title was clear and trade my car to an other person... I still have to pay the bank but I have no car... Daniel levesque sold my car to senechal suzuki mg & fils ltee/ltd. Daniel sold my car for 10 000 dollars and I still owe 23 000 on that car that I don't have no more. I do have a hundai santa fe, do you know what? I will never buy a car at any dealership, I do not trust that company anymore. I even have to pay a lawyer for that complaint and it cost me money big time for something I don't have anymore. Do you want to buy my santa fe 2004, cause I don't want that brand anymore... I have no trust for that company. I have to be in court on the 3 of december 2010 and the number of my court report is e-sc-155-10... This is the reference for the court. What will he do if I call the local journal and tell that story to the other people. What kind of company are you to do this # to us... Thanks for your big christmas gift... Do something or I will.
