I took my car to Don Thornton Cadillac Inc. because it was idling rough in the morning and losing coolant slowly. I had to add coolant every few months. They said it was the spark plugs and crossover gasket and charged me $1200. My son told them that the Cadillac forum experts said it was unlikely to be the spark plugs because the car only had 50,000 miles on it, but they said it was the only possibility. The next morning, I still noticed a slight idle issue, so I asked if they fixed the coolant loss. A couple of months later, I had to add coolant again. They fixed nothing! I took the car back and told them we still had to add coolant every couple of months and it still idled rough in the morning, exactly like before. They diagnosed it as a blown head gasket, which would cost more than the car is worth to fix. I wasted $1200. I told them it wasn't the spark plugs, but they insisted it was with a smug attitude. They were wrong!

I left my car at Don Thornton Cadillac on 04/22/2022 and got it back on 05/05/2022. I paid $1,178.25 for the service. The service department said they did a complete multi point inspection for $159 to check if there were any other repairs needed besides fixing my battery and power steering issues. They also replaced the rear tow link that was part of the NHTSA safety recall. But now, my car is in worse condition than before. When I told Blake King, the service representative, that my car wouldn't accelerate, the check engine light was on, and it wouldn't start, he said I could bring it back, but I'd have to pay for them to look at it and any repairs needed. I contacted Cadillac and GM because I didn't think it was fair for me to pay for problems that weren't there when I dropped it off. GM talked to Bob Hallam, the service manager, and he said they weren't responsible for fixing it because the car was "altered" since a fuse was missing when I brought it in. Now, my car is at the only other certified Cadillac dealer, and their service technician found several safety concerns during the multi point inspection. My car is leaking oil from the power steering, motor, and transmission. The back of the evaporator purge valve was completely off, the rear fuse panel and wires are melted, my right rear wheel hub is loose, and the battery needs to be replaced. He found a wire that was grounded going to the rear fuse panel. On the "receipt" I got from Don Thornton, it says the technician installed a fuse in the rear fuse block and performed wire repair to ground wire. The cost to fix my car is more than what it's worth now. RO#XXXXXXXX.
