Mercari review: Mercari scams its customers

FRAUD, BEWARE. Mercari SCAMS its customers by fraudulently increasing the weight of the item and then leaving a negative balance on the sale. BEWARE. READ this. I had 2 identical car seats. Sold one 10 months ago - no problem. The same car seat shipped in the identical box was sold a week ago. The weight was doublechecked with the manufacturer to be 39 lbs. All of a sudden and after the car seat was shipped and received with a 5 star feedback from the buyer, I , all of a sudden, get a memo from Mercari that the weight was not 40 lbs but 78 lbs (yes ridiculous) and that the package shipping fee was $220 which is more than the car seat was worth. I started reading reviews and see that this is what Mercari does now (end of the year profit generation for Mercari). If you were defrauded by Mercari, contact your state Attorney General to complain!
