Westgate Resorts River terrace convention center gatlinburg

Well it started out great the check on people were very nice. Then we got to our room and the Tv was going out and a very sweet young man came and put a new TV. So all was good, then came the awful part we were watching the Republican convention and we kept hear knocking not sure where it was coming from than it happened again and again all night. Then came the big knocks they were so hard it shook the door And the person tried to grab the knob. I talked to front desk and all they said was turn your TV down because the walls are paper thin. So tell me who wants to stay to stay in a hotel where walls are paper thin.
I have tried to get a refund, but they said it is not there fault. So I guess they are ok with guests
being harassed all night.
So he'd my warning stay away from this awful hotel do not waste your money.
I expect a call telling me I am getting a refund

Westgate Resorts Disgusting Accommodations

Westgate Resorts offered us 4 days / 3 nights at the River Terrace "Resort" and a $50 meal voucher for a great deal to attend a 90 minute time share presentation at Westgate Resorts Gatlinburg. When we walked into our room, we were hit with a strong smell of something dead. We traced the smell to the bathroom. We looked all over but couldn't find a rodent. We did see some serious and poorly repaired water damage to the bathroom ceiling. We also noticed that although the room itself was huge, it looked like it had not been updated since the 80s. Wood paneling on the walls was painted over. It had an old gas fireplace, and the dressing area had questionable built-in wooden drawers that weren't properly cleaned. The cracking sinks looked like they had been spray painted and it had begun to scratch off. We unloaded an entire can of Lysol and told the staff about the terrible smell. They stated they were fully booked but would move us in the morning, and had us come to the office to get a bottle of air freshener. It was already late so we decided to try to go to bed, and get out early the next day. Around 3am, I had to use the restroom, and when I flushed the toilet filled up and would not go down. When we contacted the office, they stated they would see if they could find a plunger. When they arrived, they tried to hand my husband the plunger, like maintenance was our responsibility. None the less, they got the toilet to go down, and we went back to bed. The next morning, we got up ready to get out of there and do some sight seeing before we had to be at the time share presentation. When my husband walked into the bathroom to take a shower, he stepped in a huge puddle of water in his socks. The whole bathroom was flooded, presumably with toilet water. From our toilet, the toilet upstairs, who knows. I was livid. I had to go to the office twice to get our room switched. They acted like they had no idea our room was like that. It's obvious it had been a long-term issue. The second room they gave us was equally old and the bathroom ceiling and bathtub were peeling, but it didn't smell and didn't leak, so we dealt with it. We did however decline the meal vouchers for their in house restaurant. After being subjected to such a disgusting room, we certainly weren't going to eat there. By the time we got moved and showered, it was time to go to the time share presentation. We had already burned half a day. Our appointment was at 2pm. They took us on a tour of beautiful accommodations and an outstanding indoor waterpark, which only added insult to injury after the night and morning we had just had. Once we sat down to talk prices, we declined to purchase a time share. They then proceeded to show us 10 different other price points and ways to purchase, through 3 different sales people. It was 6pm when we finally got rude and insisted on leaving. Our 90 minute presentation had turned into 4 HOURS. We couldn't have cancelled or no-showed because we would've been charged $300 for the terrible room we were stuck in. We also made our complaints about our hotel known to the time share staff, who acted concerned but did nothing to help. The ONLY positive to staying at River Terrace was it's location. It is smack in the middle of the main strip in Gatlinburg and we could walk to almost everything. All in all, it was a terrible experience. I have never stayed in a place like that in my entire life, and I would never recommend it to anyone. If we had know what we'd be subjected to, we would have just stayed home. It's appalling that Westgate would put us up in such an awful place and then have the gall to try to sell us something!

I don't want anything from them. I only posted this review so that other people would know what they're in for.

Westgate Resorts Customer service

Good morning. Maybe this email has no concern to you. I'm a healthcare worker. Who decided to take his children on a getaway. I'm currently staying at the resort. I checked in on 06/25/2020 a little after 3pm. I bought groceries put them in the refrigerator. We went to the pool came back around 6pm. Children were hungry went to the fridge and found out it wasn't working. I called the front desk they sent a maintenance guy up almost 30 to 40 minutes later. He came supposedly he said the issue was fixed. At 830 I checked the refrigerator again and it still was not keeping the items cold. Now it has been a little over 5 hours that my groceries has been in the refrigerator not being chilled. I called the front desk they said they will send someone up. They came acted like I did something wrong the guy kept telling me to take the things out of the refrigerator but I couldnt because of the door that cant be open all the way due to the fact the other guy was unplugging it. Then in rage he just grabbed the refrigerator and dragged it out from the kitchen out the villa. Around 9:30pm security came did a report and took pictures of my receipt. Then he came back at 10pm said that they will reimburse me but has to take all my groceries. Which is fine they were all bad anyways. Then on 0626/2020 at 830am. I did not hear anything from anyone and was concerned that my kids would wake up and not have anything to drink or eat so I called the front desk. I spoke to the manager and he said he will find out and let me know. I waited a hour and got no answer. I called back at 930am and said the head of security will be contacting me. I explained that there is no food no drink and I have little children. He just apologized. I called security then spoke to a lady she said that he will not be coming in at 2pm and he is aware of my issues. So that means I have to wait until 2pm to get a answer or wait to feed my kids. We came here to be stress free and get away from the world and all its issue and I only been here one day and have anxiety. Nothing was done to make sure we were comfortable or accommodate. This is unacceptable and for a resort to have such a good reputation and big name no one cares. I did pay money for this vacation it was not free. Like I said in the beginning of this email. This will probably be brushed off or not even read. What big name company cares about the little people. I put pictures to show the drag Mark on the floor and how all my stuff was just put out. Today is 06/27/2020 and I have not heard anything from anyone this email was forward and sent to different people but got nothing in return. I guess we dont care if my children got anything to eat or drink. I had to go out and buy more food and spend more money. Like I said big companies made there name already so why care about the little people.

Westgate Resorts West gate travel club

On April 7, 2014, we were approached to buy a timeshare travel club. After saying no, and many many offers, they gave us a price we couldn't refuse to be exclusive members so we can travel to beautiful places. We paid them $6500.00 that day in full. Since this time I have been unable to use it because when I call to make reservations, there isn't any availability. So after 6 years of trying, and frustration and being ripped off, I'd like my money back. I'd like to join the class action lawsuit to recoup my money if possible. They are very misleading and liars.
My name is Nancy Kneipp

Westgate Resorts Travel club

Save your money and time. It's all lies. My husband and I bought a vacation club. You have to wait 2 month for your account to activate so you can just login and see thier crappy hotels deals. Also, you cannot book anything until u pay a certain amount of your vacation club. And the prices for thier outdated resorts are too pricey for what you get! Your better off paying normal prices or air bnb. When getting scammed they make u pay $1000-$4000 for the club as an initial down payment. $200 to renew it every year and the prices of the resort always go up after the yr. It's not worth it. And they dont tell you you have 3 days to cancel this [censored]ty deal. I just stopped paying these people and took off my credit card from records for them to charge and changed my phone number on file. If I get sent to collections oh well. Usually after years of not paying, collections debt gives u a way cheaper payment opt out agreement then what u actually owe. Screw these people. They dont deserve our hard working money and I hope this helps many more people if getting scammed.

Westgate Resorts Asking people to lie about their ability to become an Owner

I'm a former Chaplain & Police Officer & EMT, who is on disability, who came to I find that along with my now wife, how you can be trapped to sign for a time share..
We were my wife's companies visit to Las Vegas, and we were just strolling along the Strip, we were approached by someone in reference to learning about their time share program and Ownership..
We told them that I was on disability and working towards getting hopefully becoming a disable veteran, and they asked me to tell them that I was retired, which I wasn't and even though I tried to tell the truth, they still continued to question both my wife and I to sign on the dotted line, Yet, we learned that they wouldn't take no for an answer...
My wife and I struggle enough, but I een contacted them through their website to change informtion on our account, and they still withdrew money from the accunt, which we asked them not to.
I am on SSI Disabilty and don't make enough money and my wife works for a local company where we live..
Yet, We feel trapped and unable to get out of this contract.. We really didn't know how much it was a scam until we got home, and it's been over a month that we signed and they just are after us despite trying to tell them that we felt forced to sign, because they wouldn't allow us to leave literally without having signed papers for something that you in many ways finally didn't really want, but pressured to do, because tactis they used to make you sign...
I am trying to look into getting this undone and not sure how... Just sad that we and others are literally forced to do something that we really don't feel comfortable in doing.. If anyone can help, please drop me a line... We can't afford a lawyer, but are in need of help to get out of this..
My advice to anyone is don't talk the tour, because they will hold you until you sign for one of there timeshares..

Westgate Resorts checking-in process

February 25, 2020

To whom it may concern,

My reserved week was for feb. 16th - feb. 23rd at westgate resort villas in orlando, florida. I had phoned the resort to let them be aware that I had a late flight (9pm) with my family on the 16th and we would not be arriving until after 12am on the 17th. When we arrived at the resort and I checked in, they told me that they were short on 2 bedrooms and to have a seat because my room was not ready. Really? I was due to arrive on the 16th (check-in 4pm) and we didn't arrive until 1am, which the resort was well aware of, and you don't have a room ready for me?!?!?! After I got very upset, as my mom is 81 years old and was exhausted, they came out of the room and proceeded to tell me that they suddenly had a room. It was dark and late, and we all went to the room that was given to us... It was a room that was outside of the security gates. We get to the room, we unpack and we went to bed, only to wake up to construction/landscape workers in the back pool area, I jumped out of my sleep, open the back door and find that the pool behind our room is empty and under construction! Are you kidding me! I have been an owner now for almost 6 years, I am sure you are aware how much I pay for this time share! This was reserved almost 10 months in advance, and this is what you give me... This is what I have to look forward to... An empty pool and landscapers to wake us up! Needless to say, after losing my mind, they changed our room, so we all had to pack back up and move! The fact that they stuck us in this room is unacceptable! This was not the first time that I have arrived at the resort in orlando and my room was not ready. The last time I was there, I arrived at 5pm and again had to wait for my room to be ready. How is this possible when check-in is at 4pm. How inconsiderate is it to travel all day, only to arrive at your resort (that you pay good money for) and not have your room ready! As much as I love staying at westgate, I am once again disappointed with their service. So much so that I would never recommend anyone to buy or stay in westgate. The next time this happens, I plan on not continuing to keep my timeshare. As an owner, I am not satisfied with your service, especially at check-in!

Sincerely,
Danette esposito
Westgate owner #[protected]

Westgate Resorts unauthorized debit payments

We paid for a promotional stay for 66.00 for the entire weekend from the 17th of January until the 19th. Before I arrived I paid the 66.00 then we arrived I paid the 50.00 deposit. When I got to the Timeshare desk, they wanted me to pay 50.00 again because the front desk took my payment. When I refused to pay 50.00 again, they canceled the tour and are now trying to take 300.00 from my account. Never mind the fact we had to leave a day early and they kept the $66.00.. Complete fraud and ripoff

Westgate Resorts westgate "travel club"

Westgate travel club is a lie!
Your better off paying normal prices or just doing the sweepstakes deals once a yr to enjoy your discounted vacation without a contract. My husband and I paid 4k down plus you still have to pay 500 dollers to book a week in a resort and theres no special 50 doller vacation deals as they said. I fell for this trap in the orlando westgate. They make you do a one hour presentation and promise lies to you about thier resort to land a sell. DONT FALL FOR THIS PEOPLE. DO THE ONE HOUR PRESENTATION AND SEND THEM TO HELL. ITS A HUGE RIPOFF.

Westgate Resorts resort stay and customer service

We vacationed at Westgate Lake Resort and Spa December 28th-31st, 2019. We were assigned to Building 1600 room 1643B. Valet and Front desk staff were nice and helpful. Resort is beautiful. Every day during our stay our key did not work, and we had to have our keys rekeyed. Elevator in our building did not work for two days of our stay. We were on the fourth floor. Morning of check-out Elevator did not work. We had to carry luggage from the 4th floor. My issue with Westgate is their timeshare presenter's. We had the liberty of having Julia Kalaf PA.in the beginning she seemed to be okay then she became rude, she had the nerve to get rude with my husband because he wasn't paying her any attention my husband is 37 not 7 we were not in a classroom, nor was she his teacher. We are business owner's my husband conducts the physical duties and I do all administrative duties. I'm use to reading contracts and asking a lot of questions before signing and submitting documents. Long story short Westgate should be ashamed of themselves hiring people that have NO! people or customer service skills to sell timeshare properties. I don't see the problem with telling someone to give you a chance to review things and look over documents. When buying a home or automobile you are given time to review and discuss your purchase before finalizing the deal. This doesn't mean you can't afford what you are trying to buy. A sensible person would make sure a purchase that ties you in for 3 years or more makes sense today, tomorrow, and here after. Under no circumstance should you be told you have to spend $30, 000 or more right now. That BS! And shame on them for the BS. I left there mad as hell. No one disrespects my husband or tries to belittle me because I did not purchase something at the drop of their hat. She sat there with her face tuned and rolling her eyes (unprofessional) because she did not like the fact me and my husband wanted to discuss things with our team before making a purchase. I'm not sure if these people are trained to be ignoring, disrespectful or aggressive. They should be advised to be mindful of the person sitting in front of them, sometimes you have no clue who (Business owner's etc) you are dealing with. I feel this resort care less about how things are pitched to their guest if so they would follow up immediately with questions upon the ending of a timeshare presentation. I'm going to speak with the Florida Attorney General Office and a few other entities to see if this behavior towards guest is permitted at their resorts. Julia really disrespected the wrong people we really wanted to buy with our experience we will not be returning to Westgate and we will not refer anyone. I'm highly disappointed with Westgate Lake Resort & Spa.

Westgate Resorts complaint

I am not sure this is the right email to write about, but I was told to write my concerns on these email id's

Last year when I visited Las Vegas there was a team of people from Westgate, sitting in a mall and told me to take a package where we need to take up a 90 min tour and told us to pay $99 and then they said we can book a holiday at any of your properties listed in the website, we will booked a slot during Christmas and all confirmation was provided.
I had several questions related to the terms and they said I am good until last week. when I called them again for reconfirmation same team said that I don't meet eligibility criteria, but its after 3 months after my booking, not even a cancellation mail was sent then .
Now I have lost all my vacation plans and all bookings I made in Tennessee. I never expected this with such a reputed resort in United States . They have not done basic checks before making a reservation and not even thought of reversing the amount I paid, I had to follow up on this and every time my call was routed to ten different departments who said it doesn't belong to them .
I am really upset with this whole experience, I had to cancel my family vacation because of this .
Belive me there was no one ready to respond

Westgate Resorts westgate lake resort and spa

Very rude hospitality person named Richard told us to get our own Uber service on our phone using an app. It was our 31st Anniversary and when we got into our room a card with balloons saying Happy birthday, we brought all this to everyones attention and Angela said she would handle it. That was on the Thursday we arrived November 7th, 2019. On Friday we never heard anything of what had happened. We did however, talked to Angela, Shannon and Carlos about Richards behavior and said that we were not to take care of finding a ride to a concert we were going to Saturday that Richard was wrong, but nothing was done about how rude he spoke to us. Saturday morning there was to be a 90 minute presentation on the Westgate Lake Resort Spa timeshare with a breakfast, we waited for a gentleman to take us to a cafeteria of hundreds of people all eating with their sales person. Instead of 90 minutes it was 3 and a half hours of high pressure tactics even after we said we said we were not interested, so our sales man Adrian brought over his manager to try his sales tactics on us and we just said no we have been here long enough and the manager said tomy husband and I, then why did youcome here and waste our time. get out of here. I started to cry. When we went back to our room the top lock on our door had been latched and we couldnt get in. The maintence man had to come and take off the lock so we could get in. we found out one of the cleaning ladies brought a bottle of wine and Anniversary card and had bolted the door, but didnt end up cleaning our room. So our room was not secure and it was only given to us clean towels, our bed made and trash can emptied. When we brought all this to Shannon, Angela, and Renatos attention all they said they wouuld do for all the inconvenience and our Anniversary ruined is take off the resort fee of $43.23. That didnt seem fair to us so i ask for our room rates to be paid for and they said they could give us $25.00 additional dollars to use at the resort. The problem was we were leaving that Sunday November 10th 2019 and we didn't want to spend any more time there. We want a full refund for al the inconvenience, high pressure tactics and unprofessional way we were treated.

Westgate Resorts account cancellation

I have requested my account to not be renewed for three consecutive years. I have requested they delete my account each year, only to have them bounce me around between representative agents who fail to complete the request. They say they have, and it usually takes at least three additional calls to even get refunded each year.

At what point is this blatant theft, fraud, or legally actionable? DO NOT deal with this company or any of its associated companies. They will hide behind "It wasn't us, it was them" and just pass you around in a game of phone tag hoping you will give up.

I have been flat out told by my bank the only thing I can do is wait for them to attempt to bill me again, and dispute the charge. Alternative would be to close my bank account and open a new one so they can't even attempt to bill me. I fear this would only lead to WestGate attempting to put me into collections for something I don't owe. That is the kind of sleaze bag company this is.

Westgate Resorts 90 minutes turned into 4 hours

First of all when I arrived it was late, after a 12 hour drive we all went to bed. Needless to say I had to get all the information and ids to customer service the next morning no problem... First thing I noticed was [censored] that's right [censored] on the bathroom facing... Then blood spots on the door in the kitchen, so when I took all the information down to customer service I advised what I found, the young man said let me see what I can do, I even showed him pictures I had taken. He came back and said someone would be up to check the room they could not go by pictures. Okay they came cleaned half assed. I never here back...

Westgate Resorts poor customer service and dirty/moldy room

Cedric and Carmen Wormely, Owners since 2007, Gatlinburg, TN

Date of stay: September 8, 2019 - September 15, 2019

Being an owner since 2007, we have always been pleased with our stays and enjoyed Westgate Resorts - especially the location in Gatlinburg, TN. However, upon arrival on Sunday, September 8th, we had the following issues:
• We had reserved one room but found that both of our units had been reserved, so we had to make sure our other unit was banked - we were told our concierge had to take care of that
• We had to wait for almost 10 or 15 minutes for someone to take us to our room; but we finally decided to find the room ourselves
• Once we arrived at our unit (66 23A), it was extremely disappointing. The room had black spots in the carpet in front of the door and a couple other areas, spots in some of the chairs, cracks in the kitchen tile floor, the stove was old and stained, the water jets in the tub in the bathroom looked moldy and black, there was mold in the grout between the tiles in the shower and there was mold on the ceiling in the shower area, there was a lot of dust on the air vents, there was dust on the wall under the vents and the glass in the back door was all smudged and unclean. As an individual with allergies, all the dust and mold was very disappointing and unhealthy for me. We sprayed Lysol in the room and even though we did not want to stay - we decided to stay in the room because it was late.
The next day once we got in touch with our concierge, she immediately made sure we were moved to another unit (70 21A). She provided great service. She indicated someone would call us when the room was ready. We packed our suitcases, etc. and waited. The front desk called to let us know the room was ready and that someone would arrive to assist us with the move and bring our key for the new room. We waited almost two hours and when we called the front desk to check on the status, the person we spoke to was very rude and discourteous. We decided, after waiting about another hour, to go to the front desk ourselves, to get the key. The front desk told us they had already sent it up and to go back to our original room and they would be there. Needless to say, no one was there. We called back again, after waiting, and was told staff would arrive shortly. We wasted almost half a day, after we packed the car, sitting around waiting even though they said our room was ready. Eventually, staff arrived - we got the key and found the room ourselves. Once we found the new room, we discover there was no parking in front unit. There was a rope on the ground that appeared to be used to enclose the area that is located in from of the unit. Since it was on ground and we needed to unload our suitcases - we thought it was ok to go up and unload the car. When we finished unloading, and went to return the car to a parking spot - security had put the rope up and left, leaving us locked in - even though our vehicle was in plain sight. It took about 15 minutes to get someone to come and unlock the rope. Once we parked, we finally got to settle in our room. It should be noted that during part of our stay, we noticed the rope was down and several vehicles were coming in and out of the area without being locked in. It was very inconvenient to have to be in a unit where there is no parking and you have to carry your luggage and bags up and down a hill to load your car. At least the new room was clean and very satisfactory. However, once again, with all the back and forth - we left a whole bag of groceries in the refrigerator in the old room. When we called the front desk see if it could be retrieved, since no more than 45 minutes had passed - we were told the house keeping staff had already disposed of the groceries.
Needless to say, this was the worst experience we have ever had at the Gatlinburg resort. Our concierge was wonderful and provided great customer service, but the front desk personnel was not friendly, was rude and had bad attitudes. We were really looking forward to the vacation, but had to deal with a lot of issues during half of our stay. Desirable resolution? It would be nice to be refunded some of our days for all the inconvenience. We also hope that the next time we come out to the resort that we have a pleasant, quiet stay in a clean and comfortable room. We hope to be treated like owners and not treated like we should not be there. The front desk personnel should also ensure they treat customers with respect and dignity. We do not want to regret our decision to keep our timeshare in TN.

I have made multiple attempts to cancel a timeshare with no resolution. Purchase made on 09/08/19. Cancellation made on 09/09/19. Requested assistance from Mitch Stoun on cancellation process. He had a rep from corporate office call that tried to sale other options. I expressed I wanted to cancel. I also contact Luis Torres and was advised by Jasmine at home office that I could only cancel through Luis. After making multiple attempts to reach Luis, I spoke with him today. He stated that he could not assist me and that I need to reference documents. I expressed I had difficulty in locating the page number, and Luis stated that he did not know and could not assist. I have been receiving the run around and would like my cancellation on record. The whole process has been a discouraging process.

Westgate has continued to do shady business and deceive new buyers looking to find a vacation place the lie mislead and misguided customers and also use deception and false statements. We were tricked into buying and overcharged for units that sell thousands cheaper or are free some place . They left out the fact we had time to change our mind and now they try to misappropriate my payments to principal that was for my mortgage and act as if they did t know.
