I currently have a mortgage on my home with Wells Fargo. I asked about refinancing to a lower rate and they said they would. After paying them for an appraisal and their fees, they have done nothing but find lame excuses to delay and deny refinancing a loan I already have with them. They've lost paperwork, ordered appraisals and canceled them and the loan processor has no idea of who or why appraisals were cancelled. They are either entirely incompetent or deliberately not refinancing loans. BTW, my loan balance is roughly 25% of the appraised value of the home and my wife and I have excelect credit scores.
Stay away from Wells Fargo!

Nearly three weeks ago I received a call from Wachovia stating that my debit card had been used in fraudulent transactions. That was the only good thing about their customer service. They shut off my card and said that they would send another one in 5-7 days. I wait until day 6 (and actually day 7 but they were closed for Veteran's Day) and call, being a little concerned. The lady on the phone said that due to Veteran's Day it may not be until Monday the 22nd (I called on Thursday, the 18th, I think) but no worries it was processed and shipped. Monday comes and there is nothing in the mail. Tuesday comes, there is nothing in the mail. I call back on Tuesday. Lady on the phone tells me that she can't find a record of the new card even being processed. I state what the other woman said the last time I spoke to the company. She says nope, it was never processed. She gets her manager on the phone who says that the card never processed at all. They would process it and get it to me by Friday (Black Friday). I ask, because this has been already a nightmare and their multiple mistakes, to have it Fed Ex'd by 10am on Friday. It is Black Friday afterall. No, they can't do that. So I wait all day Friday. And wait. And wait. Our Fed Ex delivery occurs by 3:30. So I wait until just around 4 and call Wachovia. Here it gets even worse. First lady tells me that the package shipped to arrive today (Friday). I ask for a tracking number and get put on hold for nearly 10 minutes. She comes back on the phone and says that the package shipped for arrival in 5-7 business days. I say no, no, no. It was supposed to be shipped to arrive today. I ask again for the tracking number and she doesn't want to give it to me. I get put back on hold. She comes back and says that it was scheduled for delivery today. Again, I ask for the tracking number. When I get the run around AGAIN I request her manager. Her manager comes on and is about as much help as asking a brick wall to produce my card. She tells me that "I've never seen this before but we can't locate your tracking number." I tell her that I just want to know when my card was sent. She says it was sent on Wednesday the 24th at 1pm. Then I asked why she couldn't find the tracking number. She says she doesn't know. At this point I'm livid. Husband comes home and makes a nice phone call to Wachovia. Very nicely asks about this situation and gives me the phone to a guy named Steve. Steve tells me that my package shipped on Wednesday at 1:16pm for arrival by end of business day Friday. Stupid me, I forget to ask for the tracking number. I hang up with him and call Fed Ex. They do a fabulous job at looking up every aspect of this issue and confirm what I thought...the package was not only never shipped but never even put in the system to be shipped. The nice woman at Fed Ex even told me that banks tend to use that "can't find the tracking number" excuse when they haven't shipped it yet. I calm myself down and call back to Wachovia. I speak to yet another customer service rep who tells me that my card never shipped, in fact it was never processed! He can have it shipped to me and in my hands on Monday, the 29th.

By the 29th of November this will have been going on THREE weeks. And the worst of it is that NOT A SINGLE PERSON AT WACHOVIA has admitted that this was Wachovia's fault. NO ONE ever apologized or took responsibility for the problem. Why the lies? Why hiding the fact that someone (or more) screwed up multiple times? They kept lying telling me that the card was processed. The card was shipped when all along nothing had happened!

It's only Saturday but I'm not holding my breath that I'll be getting my card on Monday.

I began back in the 80′s with SC National Bank which then went to Wachovia Bank and just recently to Wells Fargo. In all the years of banking I have to say Wells Fargo is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. I feel like a number rather than a customer and will strongly consider moving my money out of Wells Fargo. They are not friendly nor do they treat their customers (who support) the bank, but now we are charged for every single thing we do in the bank and it is expensive.

I went to get a cashiers check for $17.81 for the hotel I work with to send to a customer and they charged me $10.00 to do this. I was shocked this happened. I do not feel welcome in the bank anymore and do not appreciate being treated in this manner after so many years of loyal service with SC National-Wachovia-Wells Fargo. In my opinion this is one of the worst moves ever made. I assure you I will be moving my account. I have visited many banks and have found two in my area that treat customers as people, not a number.

Back in December, I had auto-pay...the payment didn't show up on my online bank site, so I made an immediate payment...and the day after, they debited my account, so I made a double payment. I asked if they could count the second payment as January's payment...dating it as being paid to them on the due date. They said it wouldn't be a problem. Then my balance went up, even though it said “no payment is due at this time” because they never updated the date like I asked them to. Then there's this month. My payment is due on the 20th. Well, today's the 22nd and I logged into my online banking site, and it still hasn't been debited! Again? Really?! Well, come to find out, they canceled my auto-pay without telling me about it! They said that I had concerns about the payment being made on time (last month), so they thought I was asking them to cancel it because it wasn't right for me. They never told me...by phone, e-mail, or snail mail...that they canceled it! I tried viewing my online statement? “Page cannot be displayed!” I couldn't view it! So last month I had extra interest added and an increased balance because they never updated the date like they said they would. On March's statement...I'm going to have a late fee for the payment that wasn't made on time (when it's their fault for not notifying me for canceling it on me)...and a “black mark” on my credit report...again, their fault for not telling me they canceled it...or I could've had one scheduled for the payment date or earlier! The statement for this account comes out (usually) on the 25th...Monday. Meaning that the immediate payment I made today won't “show up” in time to show up on March's statement...so I'm going to have extra interest added...as well as a late fee! I know for a fact that the error was on their end. How? I'm over 30 years old. I've never...ever...once...been late on a payment - or missed a payment...ever...in my entire life. Then all of a sudden, I have two issues in two months. My husband's job requires financial reviews (on both him and myself). My husband could be fired...because of Wells Fargo's shenanigans!

I have written to Wells Fargo several times before today. I have a HELOC with Wells. Wells is the 4th company to hold the HELOC and the only one to repeatedly hassle me about insurance. Several months ago, I wrote to them by first class mail, by FAX, and via their web site; and I provided proof of insurance. But once again, they are sending me a binder from another company and saying they will charge me for that insurance - insurance that I do not need. I should not have to take my time dealing with the same issue repeatedly. Wells knows that people are busy and consequently, they probabgly succeed in "selling" extra insurance more often than not.

Got a loan from best buy for a tv...wells fargo took over the loan (very confusing at the time)...
Once I was under the impression I had paid it off in full, I found out months later that my credit had been flagged. When I contacted wells fargo an agent told me there was NO balance to pay...not I learn that my credit score was affected because of this...have received nothin in the mail, no bill, nothing...now I am unable to get a car loan...Need to speak to an ombudsman, but can't locate one...HELP?

Attempting to re-finance our existing 30 year mortgage with Wells Fargo for a lower rate. We have credit scores in mid to upper 700's and have never missed a payment. The appraiser Wells Fargo selected was incompetent and used home sales from other towns in less desirable areas. We own a log home and with virtually no recent or local log home sales, we asked Wells Fargo to amend the appraisal as a log home in our area sold 10 days after the appraiser visited our home. Wells Fargo has refused and stated that we would have to pay another $510 appraisal fee to have a re-inspection done. This doesn't make any sense to me.

Wells Fargo is busy losing my faxes as of 6/14/2011. The lost paper work and request for documents not asked for at the beginning is JUST like so many compliants about wells fargo lying from so many hurting Americans. What can we do to stop this and just get the truth. My quess is you can't bank moral responsibility. A person of mexican descent is handling my HAMP application. Is it possible there is some raceism going on here? I just know i keep getting the run around and and new request for documents that weren't originally asked for. Also, and this is no accident, the person handling my HAMP application works only 4 days a week 2nd shift. That means that, going by my time, all the companies in my area are closing the same time she starts work in California. The result of this is, any document I have to send them is delayed by one more day. They are taking blatent advantage of us. Do something. Time for David to bring down Golioth. I believe the idiots at wells fargo don't think this can happen. Look to the bulshivics and sailors of the Soviet Union before CCCP. It can happen.

We were charged 4 times to transfer money from our savings account into our checking account…without knowledge. $12.50 each time, totaling $50 in 2 months. They told us the new charges were mailed to us in several letters months before, but that was a lie..we never received a single one. The customer service woman at the bank actually told me the letters were sent back to the bank! This confirms we never received them and it was a bank error. Needless to say despite the fact that THEY messed up..I was told there was nothing they could do about the charges. Unreal. We are taking our money out of this bank at the end of the week.

TD Sucks. I opened a personal checking account 10 days ago and they unilaterally closed it yesterday. I went to the branch today to collect my initial deposit and to know why they didn’t want my money. They told me they tried to call me to verify my SSN and address and I never picked the phone. The funny thing is that my phone never rang. I asked them which number they were dialing and they told me that, at this point, it didn’t make sense to give me the number they have in their records since the account was already closed.

After reading all this complains I just have to thank TD for closing my account unilaterally. I would never ever aproach them for any kind of business, they simply suck, and big time.

I was charged $ 35.00 because they say there was not enough funds when their computers at 3: am in the morning made the compensation, Apparently was a lack of 19 dollars, I was depositing it and more the next morning, only few hours, and the bank at night was closed, I think if they need only 35 dollars from me, they are very bad with their policies, they are wrong, and the tolerance of the administrative burocracy overpass the sense of the customer value, they broke the confidence relation with the customer. There is no more business with this poor people.

My tenant is facing eviction for non payment of rent, but instead of paying cash as required they submitted a Wells Fargo personal temporary check for payment. I tried to help them by calling and taking it in person to the local Wells Fargo branch to ensure payment and stop the eviction process. There they stated the check is good yet they refuse to pay the check unless I submit to being fingerprinted. I am not a criminal, a very respectable local businessman. Needless to say, i won't be treated like a common criminal. My bank, Suntrust (very good BTW) called Wells Fargo and offered to guarantee my signature for them yet their "manager", who doesn't have even a nametag or business cards refuses to pay the valid check, leaving me with no choice but to return the dishonored check and proceed to evict the foolish tenant who made the error among many of trusting Wells Fargo. Filed OCC and BBB complaints over their refusal to pay a payable check.
Don't make the mistake of trusting this fly by night bank that blows into town, takes over Wachovia, won't honor their checks and apparently can't even afford business cards.

For the past year, Wells Fargo has called me at least once a day and sometimes multiple times per day trying to get me to buy additional products. Even though I've requested numerous times to be removed from their solicitation lists, I'm ignored every time. Due to the numerous calls it can be considered harassment. I wonder if others have this experience and if a class action lawsuit is possible.

My husband and I pay our mortgage twice per month at Wells Fargo. We discovered that they hold payments until both are received and do not apply ANY payment until it is paid in full. We pay interest that is compounded daily. They are making money off our money by not applying funds received!

Student loan was sent to the wrong account, not the banks fault, and the bank pulled the funds from the wrong account and returned it to the originator. Why they couldn't transfer it between two Wells Fargo accounts is beyond me but whatever. Well, those funds did not reach the originator. Called the branch and was told the funds had been pulled from the other account and that was all they knew and could tell me, basically washing their hands of the whole situation. Calling customer service all I was told was to call the branch and when I explained the situation they just kept repeating to call the branch and then hung up on me! Ridiculous! This is not an insignificant amount of money to lose and it is repugnant to hang up on a client like that! Disgusted.

I am suing Wells Fargo and have gone through heck-and-back with them. I worked with their Loss Mitigation Depts. at a time when I was never behind in payments believing that they would correct a major escrow mistake (they used Stuart Title). I was making a sufficient salary and was consistent with the same employer and salary for more than 11 years at the time. They assured me that they would correct their mistake and that I should not worry. WF also suggested that I allow them to correct this issue in a loan mod instead of them re-writing the loan. I believed their Stage Coach BS and went for it. I know all of our issues are different as I purchased my home 13 years ago and they screwed up a refinance. Please TRUST ME; do not believe anything that these banks say because if they were operating in good faith they would say so in writing not empty promises. Unfortunately we operate in a society of contracts and you cannot afford to believe their lies. They are lying to consumers to toll the clock that means they have a specific amount of days to keep you in the HOPE cycle and you look up and you've lost your options and have been foreclosed upon. Their seemingly good intentions are scripts and to the more tenured WF employee it's a creative script. I am now suing them in Central District of Los Angeles and I also had to file a Lis Pendens (too convoluted to explain). I am in possession of my property but it's a costly endeavor. I am confident that I will prevail as they are talking settlement but their attorneys will continue to try to bill on this client, so it could go another 3 to 6 months. As a consumer, if you are wronged by these banks, SUUUUEEEEEE them, that's all they know and trying to be reasonable with them is not in your best interest and they are too big to care. They are banking on your being able to beat you down with litigation discovery, demurrers, and all sorts of litigation games but hang in there and fight the giant. During this stress time, workout to work off the stress, make your $$$ to put them $$$ aside and SUE them.

I've been their customer for close to 20 years now and most of the services are OK. Recently I joined their direct pay service (at a monthly and per transaction cost!) and cannot do any payments for 2 days now. They are "verifying" accounts of my payees who are also WFB (maybe the acronym should be WTF?) and who I have been doing business with for years as well. Lame lame lame! I wrote a message to them but forgot to "congratulate" their executives on multi-million $$ bonuses they get. Know any good banks I can switch over to?

Hello I been a wellsfargo customer for about 2 to 3 years. I have a home mortgage and an auto loan with them. I have never been late, always on time and more than minimun payment. I called them for several weeks and tried to get help by lowering my payments because of recent job lost and low income coming through unemployement. The mortagage part are not willing to help and I had to go through a different route. Nacca is a company that fights with banks to lower your mortagage payment. The car loan is impossible to lower the payment and they dont care if you lost your job. I looked at other companies that had helped their customers by lowering their payments by $50.00 a month. Thank you wellsfargo and defenetely telling me people that you guys dont care for customers and looking for a better company next time.

My daughter, an incoming college freshman, went to Well Fargo, upon recommendation of the college, to get her student loan for fall 2013. Spoke to rep on phone who told her what forms of ID and such she needed to send in to get her loan app approved. After sending in the forms, they come back and say they need another form. Get that one sent. Then they say they need another form. This has been going on for nearly a week. Every time we submit what they want, they want more. Her payment to school is in one week and Wells Fargo is screwing around, drawing things out and making it seem like the deadline won't be reached in time. That would cause her to lose her seat in her classes and her dorm room and meal plan. I feel they should have feen upfront from day 1 on all required forms. Instead, they keep dinking around and causing delays. They don't care about her and her deadline. THIS IS HER FUTURE! Beginning to think the almighty dollar and interest down the road is their concern; not the customer.

I would like to complain about Wells Fargo / America Servicing.
I was trying to get a loan modification. I had the modification for 7 months never late. Wells Fargo/America Servicing/ Wachovia.
Denied my loan.
then they sold my house and didn't tell me.
I didn't know my house was sold until a paper was stuck on my house saying it was sold and i had to move.

All this talk about Bank of America but Wells Fargo is worse because they hide behind America Servicing and Wachovia.

How can a bank sell your home wihtout at least telling you?
People write your congressman, write anyone and everyone and complain about Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo is the most crooked deceitful criminal lending institution in the United States, why the hell the FED has not brought this bank down for its criminal practices is beyond me. They steal money and homes every day, fake documentation, and every word they tell you on the phone, email, or letters is a lie.

We jumped through their hoops for 2 years to finally get the HARP they told us to apply for, we made the 6 trial payments in good faith and on time, on the 6th month Wells Fargo added pool insurance onto our mortgage in violation of federal law, and used that as the excuse to deny making our modification permanent. They are con men, liars, and thieves who know most of us do not have the time, or money to go after them in a court of law.

We TRIED to do a loan modification in Feb of 2014 with them (again, first time it went UP $300.00). NEVER heard or talked to our modification rep named, Lauren Schultz and during the process of doing this they sold our home in May of 2014! We got an attorney to help us figure out what was going on and then Mr. Hottop from corporate office took over our modification. Now we did get behind on our notes and Wells Fargo SAID they wanted to help us. We had every intention of working out something so we didn't lose our home(NOT a house, a HOME)! When finally Mr. Hottop got back with us in about August of 2014 to let us know that we were approved for the modification and we could NOW pay $1560.00 for a house that was worth about $90, 000.00. When I asked him about a modification lowering our payment, he said" WELL ACCORDING TO YOUR FINANCIALS, YOU CAN AFFORD IT!" Really... I was stunned! They are also NOW saying that we are 2 years behind? I guess for 2 years they just let us live mortgage free and never said anything to us about it. Although they took my money! They are heartless people, who got bailed out by the government when they supposedly needed help. But are so callous when it comes to them helping someone else. All we wanted from them was to make our note to where it would be affordable for that house( our HOME). They would NOT budge they are giving us until March of 2015 to leave our home. HEARTLESS, HEARTLESS, HEARTLESS! I love my home, my neighbors, and my neighborhood. I would not NEVER recommend Wells Fargo to anyone. Because God forbid something happen and you get behind, they will heartlessly kick you out.

Super judgemental and ignorant point of view. This is totally biased. Nobody is perfect in today's world. We as humans make mistakes. Let's not be hypocrites here, we would all be in jail if we got CAUGHT for some of the things we do. I believe if a company is willing-enough to give an opportunity to someone who happens to have a criminal background then I can definitely appreciate their open-mindedness!

These complaints are all spot on. Made the mistake of applying for a refi of my existing WF Mtg at a lower rate. Was told I would qualify for the amount I was looking for based on loan to value, debt to income, the whole nine. 800 credit scores, high income, all the stars aligned for an easy approval and quick close right? Yeah, right. Five weeks of run around and jumping through ridiculous hoops, only to receive a "counter offer" - 15-year 3.25% became a 20-year 3.75%, resulting in over $60, 000 in additional interest over the life of the loan. Why? Because they "couldn't verify" rental income (which was on tax returns and the checks for which were all deposited at Wells Fargo), or bonus compensation (also on tax returns, W2s and direct deposited at Wells Fargo). Cost me five weeks of my life, and a $500 appraisal fee. I can't believe they continue to get away with this crap.

Wish I had read these complaints, or Googled "Wells Fargo Bait and Switch" before applying to refi my existing Wells Fargo loan with Wells. Loan processor took all of my information and documentation, and told me I would qualify for a 15-year fixed at 3.25%. We have excellent credit (790-810), high equity (over 50%), great income, low debt. After five weeks of chasing us around with signed letters, statements, copies of the same documentation over and over again, they told us we would no longer qualify because they couldn't verify rental income on a summer home (although it was on tax returns, we had signed contracts, and the checks for the rentals were deposited at Wells Fargo), however they would "counter offer" us a 20-year fixed at 3.875%, which resulted in over $60, 000 in additional interest over the life of the loan. We wasted 5 weeks as well as $500 on a non-refundable appraisal fee.

They are nothing but thieves, and I hate them. I hope more people get tired and dump their bank. Worst customer service, they rob you blind and do not care!

I received a wire transfer from someone in americal to my bank account they told me that the funds is under investigation. Funds from a wire transfer are certified because you have to have this money up front no matter where it came from This bank is doing something that they are suppose to not be doing. they need to be investigated for any thing that is not right. I recommend changing banks I know that I will. thanks, for all under standing. EB

Legally, they can do this. I worked for Wells Fargo and it's called a "right to set off". What that means is that if someone has an account with the bank that is overdrawn, the bank can legally transfer funds from another account that the same person is listed on. So it sounds like your wife's name was on both accounts. If someone's name is on account, either by themselves or as a joint, then both parties are responsible for that account.

Some years ago, my wife cosigned as an accommodation for our not yet 21 year old son to attend Mary Washington University in Fredricksburg, VA. Wells Fargo Education Financial Services (WFEFS) made the loans and since he was not of legal age, the wife cosigned. Some years later the lad is out of school, 24 years old and has encountered some financial and legal problems, now unable to pay the student loans my wife was an accommodation signer because of his contractually under legal age status at their incurrance. Instead of even contacting him on his past due status, WFEFS has demanded payment from my wife in full, charging around a 50% interest rate for the "late payment" charges. The only person that received benefit of the funds derived from these student loans was our son and neither my wife or I received any benefit of the funds. Clearly, the obligation rests upon the adult child but WFEFS will not even send him a past due notice let alone make a collection call to entice him to pay. Now, we in our advanced years are going to have to cough up $25K to pay these loan sharks who have even agreed to attempt collection from the son but DO NOT even contact or send him any notices, routing everything to my wife. This all started when my wife left employ of Wells Fargo & Company (WFC) at the beginning of 2009. WFC is the worst employer in the world and they tried to thwart her from drawing out any of her 401 K and profit sharing funds last year even before the student loans were past due. WFC and John Stumpf are without a doubt (I have written to Mr. Stumpf appealing for his assistance to resolve many of the issues) the most egregious parties as employers and as a human I have ever found, despicable.

You would think that the people that work for them have never had anything happen to them. Why not give someone a chance to make payments. I mean they don't even send you a bill on time and expect your payment to be on time. The way these people treat you, as if they are not human. Right now people are still loosing jobs and they can't even give you some extra time to make payments. If I knew then what I know now I would have never used them. God does not like ugly and their whole company is ugly. I swear I can't see their company staying around to much longer, If we all stick together and work with each other not to use Wells Fargo. If you know whats good for you and your credit you would not use them!

Yesterday I checked my account balance and it stated $33. I bought something for $3+-. This morning I check and I was charged overdraft fees than came out to $99. I went to wells fargo and spoke to a rude young lady that called the manager over. When I explained the situation he said that an authorized transaction for $89 came in after I made the purchases and had to pay $99 because the $89 came in first. I explained to him that the $89 came after the other $13 and then changed the policy. He then told me that wells fargo charged all 3 at the same time.

The $89 came in after midnight. I then told him I thought it was poor business practices. He told me that was their business. I then told him that I was going to voice my free speech the next time they had open enrollment in my college campus. I told him that I would voice my troubles to people coming by wells fargo stand. He then asked if I was making a threat. I told him no, that I would only be voicing my right (which is granted under the constitution). He told me that the conversation was over and left without apologizing.

I was told to order an appraisal which was not necessary as my Loan Officer already had all my banking information and knew about an existing Home Equity Account..He informed me that the loan to value wouldn't qualify for the refinance eventhough he hadn't seen the appraisal. I asked why he took my $500 for the appraisal when he already knew about the Loan to Value. He admitted that he was wrong and would look into a refund. I left messages for him and he has never returned my calls.I have written a letter that was suppose to be delivered to his Manager. Still no word. Where's the accountability? As I can read I am not the only one treated poorly.
I want my $500 refund.
