My Wife, Palmira Greenland, who has been with Voda for decades, saw an advert on your Vodacom site for a Lenovo Laptop at an attractive price.
She went to the Grove Branch of Vodacom to secure purchase under her existing contract.
A female staff member convinced her to purchase a Huawei... ASSURING HER THAT IT WAS THE SAME SIZE AS THE LENOVO.
She came home and set it up.
Upon my arrival I found that it was appreciably SMALLER than the Lenovo...
and 82 years of age my eyesight needs Lenovo size.
I went to Grove Branch but was told that the Huawei could not be returned under the 7-day-return rule as my wife had set it up.
After numerous subsequent phone calls, I finally managed to speak to the Manager and made the points that: -
1. from the Huawei box size and staff assurance my wife was MISLED into thinking the Huawei was the same size as a Lenovo.
2. that the Huawei could be restored to Factory Defaults very VERY SIMPLY.
He said that he would see what could be done and would phone me back.
That was two (2) days ago!
He has NOT PHONED BACK.
Numerous promises by staff that the Manager would be contacted ton phone me back have not been honoured.
Claimed loss: Exchange of product.
