United Parcel Service [UPS]ups lost my package

What was supposed to be an overnight air express has turned in to now a missing package, it is the third day now and still no word. The 800 number I usually call, those people, I spoke to a number of them during the first day asking where my package was and first I was told it was at my location and it wasn't, then the next person said it is still in the state I purchased it in and that it will be to my location by 6pm that day, it wasn't, then a few more just did not know anything, told me if/ maybe it will show up the next day. So at that point I did not have a good feeling about it. Let me explain that these items are not items that can be replaced, company cannot just send a new one. But I do have to say Brian and Mel at my local Farmingville location are outstanding employees and were and are very helpful and showed compassion to my situation, they are awesome! But the situation is very upsetting and I just can't believe they lost my package. It was picked up and then what??
