TracFone Wireless review: Every month they popped my phone off the account

There is no positive aspect of having an account with tracfone. None. Not anymore. It used to be an excellent wireless carrier - in fact, the phones all just worked all the time, no problems, we paid the bills and that was that. We never had to notice the company, it was that good.

Then Verizon the Destroyer bought it, apparently to shut it down: they need higher and higher rates and can't have one company in competition.

Since then, they have poor phone service, calls dropping, and worse. What's worse? the company popping phones OFF the account but still charging .When I was traveling they popped mine off the account and I couldn't make calls, but people could text me (and I could text them!) but their names didn't show up on my end, and my name didn't show up if I texted them.

We called maybe 100 times because I didn't have the time while traveling to switch carriers suddenly while not even home. Nothing they did helped. I had NO phone while gone. Didn't have time to get another one and set up with another carrier.

Once home my husband and I tried to straighten it out to buy time to find another carrier that was not related to Verizon the Destroyer. They could not fix it. I went with the number one top rated carrier in the Consumer Reports ratings, and am glad - to date - that I did.

But just this week, tracfone popped BOTH of my husband's phones off the service. He was trying to wait to switch, to see if the new carrier was ok to switch all our phones to. Now he has no choice.

Basically, Verizon the Destroyer is being itself, destroying customers lives and killing a former competitor.
