I have activated 3 different models of Samsung phones recently and non of them allow me to make calls out. I can send and receive texts and incoming calls. When I try to dial out I keep getting a recording from the migration support line. Recently, I have done at least 5 chats and phone calls with higher support techs and problem is not fixed. The phone I just activated was purchased from Tracfone and it won’t call out either. Is this a service issue or something I need to do. If someone at Tracfone could actually resolve this issue, I would be satisfied. Otherwise, I will look for another service provider. I just don’t understand what the problem is!

I found the following on Verizon support :
Starting the day before your December 2022 bill period begins, if you are a Verizon customer using a 3G CDMA or 4G phone device that does not support HD Voice (Non-VoLTE), your line will be suspended without billing, and the device will no longer make/receive calls, send/receive text messages, or use data services. You can see your billing period on the Bill overview page in My Verizon. Until January 1, 2023, impacted phones will still be able to make 911 emergency calls, and calls to Verizon Customer Service (*611 and [protected]), while the line is suspended.
Impacted 3G (CDMA) devices and 4G Non-VoLTE phones will remain suspended without billing until February 2023. Starting the day before your February 2023 bill cycle begins, any remaining impacted lines that are still suspended without billing will be disconnected.
Not sure why the ccr's I've talked to don't know this. After 2600 minutes disappeared a ccr had me add minutes. I want refund.
My phone lost service right after the first of 2023. I have called tech support many times since then to fix the issue. Each ccr takes me through the same sequence of removing/inserting the sim card, turning on/off airplane mode, make sure lte/CDMA service is selected. After awhile the say they are scheduling me for call back in 30 minutes by someone higher up and I never get a return call. At the beginning of all this I had 2600 talk minutes on my account but those have disappeared and they cannot tell me what happened and no offer to replace.
Service since Verizon migration
I have used Tracfone for 6 years without issue but since Verizon bought them it's been managed poorly. Most recently I have been without service in the Jacksonville FL area for the past 11 days and have wasted many hours with service techs trying to fix the issue. This ship is sinking.
I changed providers and my phone works great again but Tracfone will not release my phone number because they feel I still owe them a month of service. Their system says I owe a month on the phone I never bought from them. The agent was not interested in facts or service history, just reading script to me and quoting policy. This is a far cry from customer service.
Hopefully someone contemplating using Tracfone or Verizon will read this first and keep looking at other providers.

Never activated the new phone they provided and I lost 3782.10 saved minutes.
Could never activate the phones that they provided to me as a result of 4 hours with their incompetent customer service clowns then turned into another 8 hours on the phone with again with what they call customer service. It I’m sorry to say that I’ve never seen such a cluster F - - -. Of people not knowing what they were doing. They’re fall will be that no one will make the situation right I’ve even wrote letters to corporate headquarters. Just like the rest of the incompetent boobs at Tracfone the cowards wouldn’t even respond!

Can't make calls, rude manager
On 1/12/2023 I discovered I can't make outgoing calls on my Tracfone. Just says "dialing..." for a while and then "call ended." No connection at all. Tried with several different numbers, all the same result. Turned phone off, then back on, still no ability to call. Called my Tracfone from my landline and was able to connect. Left message but could not call in to get the message. I am able to connect to the Internet.
This is a Samsung J3 Luna Pro. It has become frustratingly slow, and because I've had it for several years, I was ready to buy a new one, but want this issue resolved before I invest in another Tracfone. I have activation until 5/12/2024 left on this phone and nearly 6,000 minutes.
Called Tracfone and spent over half an hour on the phone with a tech rep who said his name was Paul trying to figure out the problem. He said the system checked my phone and everything looks fine. I have 4G connection so the issue is not that Verizon no longer supports 2G.
I had tried to login to my account on my PC using Firefox browser and could not get past the login page. He said he sent an email with a new password, it did not go through. He said he would call back in 15 minutes to see if it came through. Got a call back from a completely different rep. Told her I was waiting for "Paul," she said call backs never go to the same person. I said I already spent half an hour going over the problem and trying various solutions, and that Paul said he personally would call back in 15 minutes. I asked for a supervisor. She said she was a manager and there was no one higher up to talk to. I said I didn't want to waste another half hour or more going through the same procedures we'd already tried multiple times, at which point, without another word, she just hung up on me. Hung up! "Customer service," and a manager, at that. I have been a customer for years and deserve better than this, certainly better than having a so-called customer service manager hang up on me!
I called back and got a third rep named Mary, she tried the same things Paul did, no luck, so she transferred me to another tech who she said could give more technical help than the basic steps she could. This next tech was a man with an accent so strong that I could not understand a thing he was saying. I kept having to ask him to repeat, repeat, repeat, and still couldn't communicate. At this point, having spent close to an hour on the phone trying to get help, I was so upset and frustrated that I told him I couldn't deal with this anymore and would try again tomorrow.
Desired outcome: I want tech support I can understand and who can get my phone able to make calls.

I lost my minuets and the use of the phone they shut it off and said I don't qualify for a new phone that can be used n the network. looks like someone stole the number and minuets most likely in India.

Unable to purchase add on time
Have tried for the past day to purchase "add on" data, keep on getting the same "we are unable to blah blah blah at this time, try again later". That sucks, it's also outrageous. Customer service suggests doing a text to 611611 w/ BUY. That doesn't work either. This is ALL after 3 days of attempting to have the problem resolved. Then they have the audacity to say it has something to do w/THEIR computer upgrades? I have an idea, bring the service BACK to the states and out of India, or Pakistan or Bangledesh or wherever it is now.

I spent enough time getting screwed by India operators who steal your phone time and maybe even your minuets and phone number. this I believe is a crime syndicate.
lots of time on hold I get dumped from the que. the 61161 help didn't work from any phone.
I was locked out in November right after speaking with a rep who was supposed to send me a new phone after a call back that never happened. Endless calling I could not get through. now the phone ran out of time nothing they can do for me. my recharge card never worked.

Ois moto e5. I have been unable to make or receive calls for about 1 week. Texting is ok. Have service bars. I have contacted customer service 3 times with this problem already... Each time they go through the same "menu" of check and repair steps with no success. After about 30 minutes, they offer a reset solution and will call me back on my working land line. I have yet to have them call me back. I'm sure the online response to this complaint will be "we are sorry about... Whatever" and tell me to call the same number from which I have been unable to receive assistance. Looking for another carrier right now... Very frustrated with tracfone support.

Phone not working...
My phone has not worked for over one week - I have received texts though. Won't even dial... I have spoken to Tracfone four or five times - usually for - 15-20 minutes. I have been "promised" the phone should work within 24 hours.
I have been assured the problem is not with my phone but on the side of Tracfone. I am tired of lots of talk and no results, and no one likes being hung up on. After the customary 15-20 minutes on the phone today my call was dispatched to an "elevated" service level where the service rep, Maydel(?), asked which number I was calling about. I asked what she meant by "which number" - and she disconnected me.

Tracfone messages
I have not been receiving my text messages from my pharmacy regarding our family medications.
The pharmacy confirms the phone number and that the messages were sent to us OK. They are sent via computer that which then are sent as text messages.
I contacted Tracfone via chat with customer service. I was then asked for my phone number, which I gave them. I gave them my home phone number. They said that someone would contact me in 15 minutes. That has already been at least three days ago when I did the chat and no calls.
I have a Samsung A01 cell phone. And am trying to confirm the settings to obtain the messages. I am receiving other text messages from other numbers and persons with no problem.
But, it appears that Tracfone does not care to help. And I would love to hear from Verizon regarding this and get the problem corrected. Especially since the medications are needed for our family health.

Cell phone service stopped for both phones
On January 4th my wife's phone stopped making and receiving calls. I called Tracfone on Jan. 5th and spent over an hour on my cell phone testing and trying to fix my wife's phone. I was finally told to wait a day or two and try again. Yesterday, Jan. 7th, I called Customer Service four times at three different levels of employees for three - and one-half hours, performing basically the same tests and procedures over and over. The last call was discontinued by Tracfone after 47 minutes.
Today, Jan. 8th, I tried to call Tracfone again on my phone and discovered that my phone no longer has service! My call was routed to an automated help line and eventually to Customer Service. The agent I spoke to was very helpful but the call was disconnected after about an hour.
Now I've discovered that neither of our phones has text capability.
I've spent almost six hours working on the issue with Tracfone and now have no cell phone or text service on either phone. I've gone from one of two phones that work to none in just four days.
I want full service reinstated on both phones.

Tracfone telephone service
I have not been able to make or receive phone calls for 5 days straight. I am still able to text and use the internet. When I called tracfone customer service on 4 jan they asked me to reboot my phone which I did with no change. They asked for my landline number to give me a call back in an hour that did not happen. Instead the called me back at 5 am the next morning and left a message after I did not awake quick enough to get to the phone. I called customer service again later that day and I was again told to reboot my phone. When that did not fix the issue I was told that there was a system wide problem that would be fixed that day. Same thing is happening to me. Started on January 5th. Techs go by a script with absolutely no knowledge of the problem. Had one that hung up on me. One said it was problems with the towers, but there was no ETA on when it would be solved. I highly doubt it will ever be solved for some. So fed up.
Tracfone customer Tech support
My phone would let me text, but not call out or receive calls. I called Tracfone customer tech support. They were of no help to me. They kept passing me off to another person who would tell me to do the same thing on the phone as the last person did. The last person once again said someone will call you back in one hour. One hour went by still no call. Needless to say, no one called back at all. I forgot to mention I was using another phone to correspond with Tracfone tech support.
I finally took things into my own hands and did a factory reset. I didn't realize I would lose all my pictures and contacts saved. I was so upset to lose all those important pictures and contacts. I can never get back those pictures.
I will be looking for a new cell phone service.
I asked the tech about the factory setting they never told me not to use this setting. Horrible, horrible tech support. Would never recommend Tracfone.

Phone service deactivated without cause
When I got up Jan. 1st, I found that my phone had been deactivated.
There was no warning. There was no evident reason for this. It was just suddenly dead. I can't even call the corporation's help lines, to discuss it - and, the website's chat utility simply doesn't work.
My last balance inquiry was 12:53am, 12/29/2022, and it returned the following result:
Minutes: 535
SMS: 6,740
Data: 2.71 GB.
Service end date: Jan. 13, 2023.
This sudden, unexplained disconnect happened 5 days ago, and I'm still very angry. If I don't receive some satisfaction, I will boycott TracFone forever - starting with my next phone using some other provider. On top of that, I'll tell my story to the 270 people in my Facebook friends list, and advocate that they do the same - and urge all their friends to also permanently boycott TracFone.
As a minimum remedy, I expect for:
1) My phone's service to be reinstated,
2) My stock of minutes, texts, & data to be reset as they were before this happened,
3) Extra days tacked onto the end date of my current contract, to compensate for the days of service my phone was out of commission.

Deactivated phone
When I got up Jan. 1st, I found that someone at TracFone had embezzled all the value from my phone's account by deactivating my phone without warning, cause, or explanation.
I posted a detailed account of this crime here, but it was quickly deleted by someone acting in defense of the corporation.
That full comment was posted in a 2nd location as a safeguard, and may still be read in the "Sociatry - for societal health" group at Facebook.
I want 2 things:
1) I want the person who committed the crime fired (at minimum), and
2) I want my phone's service restored, with full value put back into my account.
TRACFONE - INCORPORATED EMBEZZLEMENT.
When I woke up and turned on my phone, Jan. 1st, I found that it had been deactivated. I received the message "Your phone has been deactivated. If this is an emegency, dial 911." But, on the 3rd try, I got a different message, and was routed to an automated system that tried to sell me a new service plan for my phone. I obviously wasn't going to hand over any more money to people who'd just committed embezzlement against me, so I hung up.
To be absolutely sure whether this was a discriminatory attack against just me, or perhaps the long-threatened 3G network crash, I posted an inquiry on Facebook. I have a very large friends list. NOBODY reported their phone going dead. Not one person. So, this problem I'm suffering is strictly an attack against me.
There are 2 features which distinguish embezzlement as a crime. First, it's a financial crime. Second, that it's committed from a position of trust.
Feature #1: Before this theft, there were at least 400 minutes available in my account, plus 13 days of time. There was approx. 7,000 text messages available. There was also a less obvious, potentially very large value being embezzled. My phone had triple minutes for life bundled with it, when I bought it. This summary cancellation of my account also stole that extra value which, by contract, they were obligated to render.
Feature #2: TracFone was paid in advance, TRUSTING that they would render the value I'd paid for in services. Instead, they wiped out ALL the value in my phone's account, without notification, cause, or refund.
TracFone has warned me at least twice, that the nationwide networks intend to shut down the 3G system. At one point, they refused to restock minutes into my phone, claiming that it was now obsolete. They forced me to buy a refurbished ZTE 4G-LTE phone. I ended up not minding this, because it has an excellent camera; well worth the $10 I spent on it. But, someone made the mistake of restocking minutes into my old phone's account. So, I activated the ZTE phone strictly for making the camera available for use. Then, proceeded to conduct my phone conversations & text in a normal manner for the next year, using my Huawei "Glory".
In the complaintsboard forum, I've seen multiple instances of people complaining that minutes had vanished from their account. In one case, the report was that 4,000 minutes had vanished. The bottom line: TracFone is guilty of systematic, routine embezzlement.
Of course, despite the scale of this embezzlement making it seem like it's the corporation's policy to embezzle from their customers, it's possible that there's just one resourceful thief in a vital job, who's figured out how to transfer the value from other people's phone accounts, into some account of their own. Most likely, someone whose income would increase (stock profits?), if the corporation doesn't need to live up to the triple minutes for life contract.
IMO, they need to be spanked. HARD. Where it hurts - their freedom, and their pocketbook.
I held off posting this by a day, because I got very sick the same day TracFone embezzled my account, and I've been trying to recover. I also needed to obtain verification from the bank, that TracFone had NOT deposited any refund into my account. That was very difficult, without a phone. Whatever I've been suffering seems to be some kind of flu... During that day I held off, I came up with one other possible motive driving TracFone to take the risk of getting caught, over this petty embezzlement. There might be some type of hidden, non-trivial overhead in their accounting system, connected with maintaining the tripling of minutes for life contracts. But, if that's the case, and it's that important to them, why didn't they just try to buy me off? I'd gladly trade my tripling of minutes for life phone, for a 3G phone having endless free minutes & texts. I don't use the phone that often, or for very long... This might be a good deal for them, economically.
But no. They chose to lie to me, threatening me that the 3G system was going to be shut down - and then summarily embezzling all the value from my phone's account via deactivating it. These are the actions of parasites.
Which is why I still think they need to be SPANKED.

Customer service
I am unable to make or receive calls on my phone. I have spent over 4hours with "customer service" today and have gotten more and more frustrated. I have: removed and replaced my SIM card multiple times, rebooted the phone more times than I can remember, been told to call back in 10 minutes (only to be put on hold for the 5th time and when answered asked to perform the same tasks that the previous "tech" had me do. In the meantime I have missed a call from my physician's office, had all my minutes text and data removed (some of the minutes were replaced by one of the reps but no text or data, I am unable to access my voice mail, I cannot receive authorization codes due to no text, and as you can probably tell become VERY FRUSTRATED with Tracfone. I have been a customer for over 15 years but you have lost this customer. Your service is TERRIBLE. The representatives are simply following some kind of trouble shooting charts as is obvious from the exact same questions asked by the 6 different people I have spoken to. No one really seems to be qualified to fix a problem.

Replacing a phone with your free update and transfer minutes and number
I have an LG221C. I received a notice from Tracfone that my phone system is no longer acceptable and I would receive a free phone and could transfer my existing phone and minutes to the new phone. To do that, I would receive a text with a code number on my old phone and I would tell the rep. the code to verify that I had that phone. You company has been trying to send that code to me on a system that is not acceptable on my phone and the text will not go through. I tried to explain this to several of you rep.s over numerous calls but they will not listen. I called them on my old phone but they must not have caller ID. Icalled on our house phone and told them to call the cell number and I would answer to verify that I had the phone but they would not listen. I asked to speak with the supervisor, and they would transfer me but no one would answer and after 20 minutes or more I was disconnected.
Desired outcome: I would like my new phone that your company said I would get, have my existing phone # transferred, and have all my existing minutes transferred.

Same issue with me. There is a department for Porting numbers from old phones to new ones. I am going to try them tomorrow. Last time I had to replace a phone and transfer my existing phone number, they helped me. [protected] was where I called before - Portability Department. I don't know why the regular Customer service folks do not know this. They can only try the options and guidelines they are given to use. They would suggest trying to send the text to a totally DEAD phone, and messed up my email address for my account. If none of their attempts work, you get disconnected after an hour of time spent trying to fix issues. Basically Customer Service can only do so much. I tried 4 times and the CS reps were sincere, just limited. I never got a free phone either as a replacement, even though the offer was made. I bought another one. Good Luck.
A contact from tracfone or a refund of the money I spent with no service!
On December 30 2022 I purchased a tracfone SIM card and three month data card. I was online to activate and could not connect. I tried calling with the new SIM card and was receiving no service?
I went back to Walmart in New Smyrna Beach and was informed they have been instructed NOT to assist setting up any tracfone. I continued to Verizon for help as Verizon is who answers the tracfone calls, I was disconnected three times. I went to a Verizon store and was informed they couldn’t help me also. The service advisor did look at my set up and informed me all looked good on my cell phone settings and shouldn’t have any issues. At this point I am out $50.00 plus and without a phone number or tracfone.
If tracfone had an available person I could talk to I might have had the opportunity to have this resolved.
I will never waste any money purchasing any tracfone products again.
