Quadlogic Meters Canada Inc. is a company that charges way too much for energy bills, no matter how much you use. I turned off my heat completely for a whole month and there was no difference in my bills. I reported this to the company but nothing was done about it.

Lots of rental apartments now have a heat pump (hot water heat vs cooling in summer) but the conversion from summer mode to winter mode (cooling vs heat) isn't flawless... in Sept / Oct with cooler nights, the furnace's electric heater fights with the cooling coil (auto mode). So the Sept / Oct bills jump up... even though heating / cooling is included in rent... and the electric heater in the furnace isn't disclosed to the tenant? It's too bad that QMC was unwilling to disclose their time of use data... like it's a huge secret or classified information... my original call to QMC was to find out why's my September / October bill so much more?

QMC is a bit weird, they can go back 6 months and decide on their own "meter read issue" without asking the customer (360 kiloWatthours or $45 Charges)? They didn't even replace the meter or have it tested or inspected? QMC finally decided after the facts were in;) that it's very possible that a customer can save 360kWhrs on my 1,000kwh "REAL" metered hours usage or 40% in savings... They reversed all charges, have a great day. QMC thinks if the meter Runs too Fast (working Good) but if it runs Slow (Broken?)... Somehow other Tenants were given 400 kWhrs of "meter read issue" CREDIT and I get stuck with Bill ADJUSTMENT and I'm suppose to say... nothing? QMC dials up my meter by 360 kWhrs and is willing to do another 2 months of adjustments until the meter was replaced in June and the customer has ZERO input / feedback into the process? 8 months of Tampering with a Certified / *** approved / gov't mandated *** and QMC just dials it up to whatever it feels appropriate? Hilarious... or completely mind boggling...

The prices QMC charges are crazy! I thought it would be a bit more than a regular bill because they meter both hot and cold water, but it's way too expensive. Even if you take out the water charges and monthly admin and sewage fees, it's still 3 to 4 times more expensive than ***. I contacted them after my second bill was almost $300, but they didn't do anything. I followed up after a month, but they ignored me. After two months, they said it was because of the cold weather, but my heat was broken for two months, so that didn't make sense. They also bill every three weeks instead of a whole month! If you're looking for an apartment and they use QMC, don't do it! I'm moving after only 14 months because I shouldn't have to pay $300 a month for utilities in a small apartment. It's price gouging!
