They send e mail like it a real credit card. But it's not. Then you can't hold of them to stop from taking money out of bank account.please let me know how to stop it. I don't like paying for something i can't use!

wow. people are ###ed and desperate. i got an offer and in all of 15 minutes of reading the policy in the small box at the top of the website have been completely educated about how to shop, what the fees are, and how to get a hold of the company. this is not a scam but rather a way to prey on people with bad credit. the offer is designed to trick you into signing up but everything is written in plain english for anyone to read right at the top of the signup page. open your eyes people and stop blaming others for your mistakes. if you paid your bills in the first place and didnt live beyond your means you wouldnt need to use a service like this. its people like all of you that are destroying this god damn country and making it easy to get the rich richer and the poor poorer. wah wah boo hoo. smarten up and read. dont sign up for anything you dont fully understand. maybe our grand children will have a country to live in if you all could just learn to do that and stop being so ignorant and filled with greed!

I get mess like this to my spam email. First off, this company isn't a ripoff...technically. They just make extra money off the poor and/or unsuspecting...most companies do. They do sale real stuff that people like, on crediit. The shopping site is www.thehorizonoutlet.com. When any of you have questions or concerns about any business, feel free to do a google.com search or visit www.bbb.org . Also, if you want a cheaper, more fair business to shop from online with credit, try fingerhut.com, I use them.

I did get this card an after selecting items I wanted to buy the processing was the same price as the things I wanted to buy. Example total 500 shipping free processing 460 and must be paid before items are shipped out. Who the hell is gonna pay 460 for processing and then still owe 500 that's paying twice for the same ###. Bottom line SCAM SCAM SCAM!

I am soooo happy that I researched this co.Before I finished my application. These people should not be able to sleep at night. Times are messed up and hard enough., without some people taking advantage of trusting(unaware)individuals that are looking for some way to make their lives easier or better. sham on you. What comes around goes around sooner or later.

I soo agree this is a scam i applied for this card not realizing i didnt have enough money on my debit card at the time BUT they kept all of my info and hit my debit card for the 29.95 as soon as I had the money on there whitch was today. I have called this so called Horizon and let me tell u they are well trained for any question u have to ask them they do have an answer for it including what I have read here that others have posted and have no sham in what they are doin One of the questions I asked them was how do u get to the site to see the kind of products they offer and was simply told I canot view anything until I recieve the card I find that very odd and also as far as the shipping on there products they really do charge ur personal debit or credit card and as I was told on the phone that is to help u not waste ur credit with them on shipping costs and allows them to give u an item that would be worth 100.00 for that exact amount so ur not wasting ur hard earned money according to what they told me . Anyway if ur reading what I have just said I have one more comment In my opinion HORIZON also reads these very carfully how esle would they be able to train people so well to answer what u ask

I did not click to agree to this. i have not recieved the card nor do i plan on using it. after seeing so many complaints i do not see how this card has not been shut down. i will be contacting the BBB.

this is also known as net first platinum...In the terms at the top of the page in a scrolling message box it states:

Monthly Membership/Benefits Plan: Upon account activation, all Horizon Card Services members are automatically enrolled in our monthly membership benefit plan. Monthly membership includes a $500 Unsecured card, access to My Privacy Protection, My Universal RX, My Roadside Protect and My Legal Assistance benefits. For ease and convenience, the $24.95 benefits plan membership fee will be auto-debited monthly. The $6.00 monthly card maintenance fee is waived to all active $24.95 monthly benefit plan accounts.

I also found this in the same box:

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Cancellation and Refund requests can be made within 30 days of your billing date by calling Member Services at [protected], Monday 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, Tuesday from 9:00 am - 7 pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am - 5:30 pm, Friday from 9 am - 8 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm EST. After (30) days from your billing date, cancelled accounts are not eligible for any type of refund.

It pays to read over every detail of any offer sent to you even the fine print. I know it's aggravating and time consuming but it's a lot less detrimental to your credit and is less stress to do this before accepting any offer.

I received this offer on a post card in the mail today and within 20 mins I read the fine print and realized this offer was not for me.

Also, the above commenter was correct about their merchandise. They provide a website in the terms and conditions of where you can go to look at merchandise. When you get to the web page they ask for your card number and zip code before you can see anything. So NO you cannot see any merchandise before you sign up for the card.

Hope this helps.

I still don't get why people flock to a site with complaints about a service and say randomly to nobody in particular "cancel my account" "refund my money" or my favorite "I will contact my attorney". Do these people even realize they aren't talking to anyone relating to the company they are trying to reach? I can understand the people who want to warn others or band together, but the others really need to read before they post.

Well... I recieved a pre-approval form for this card. I didnt have to pay anything to get the card but 25 dollars. I failed to read the terms and conditions word for word and was under the assumption that it had a mastercard or visa logo on it. When it came in the mail I found out otherwise. They have been reporting to the Credit Bureau for the last 4 months. I've called to cancel for 2 months straight and for some reason they convince me to keep it. One positive thing I can say about them. Based on everyone I have spoken to they have GREAT customer service. They do tend to play on your emotions. Not to mention that I have no interest in even one piece of merchandise from their website. Good Luck to You All With Them.

I am so upset. I just ordered this card I actually knew it would not be a credit card however I thouged that since I was issued a member # I would be afforded the opportunity to see the merchandise that is offered. Once I found out I had to wait for the card I knew there was a problem. We live in the day and age of instant credit so there was no reason that I should not be able to see and shop immediately as, they give a you a temp card that you can print. To make this story short I called and canceled immediately and ended up paying 10.00 for my mistake. Just think if they mail that stupid pre-approval to enough people they could get rich off the cancellation fees.

I wish I knew which collection agency gave out my bad credit info to these people. LOL

Another company trying to take advantage of people with POOR CREDIT. I just rec'd this and have gotten some other SCAM cards recently as well. If you are trying to REBUILD your credit this is NOT the way to go. You have ot start from scratch again and I did it with a First Premier card. You have to pay some fees to get started but once you're in, youre on your way to REBUILDING.
How convenient that you can't see what you can buy until you sign up for the card...

How can a company take money for something that I have not received. I have yet to receive a card of any kind nor a website to purchase anything. What is the 79.95 that they took from my account for? How can I contact this company? Where did my money go? How can I get it back? Why me? Does anyone know how or where to contact this company? What recourse do we have? I am so lost and I have no clue where to start! HELP! Anyone! Do I have to just take this as a loss? This should be against the law.

No offense to anyone who has posted a complaint on this website regarding the Horizon Gold Card, but I too received a pre-approval for this card in the mail. I went to the website, and all costs associated with the card are clearly stated in the "terms & conditions". Also, it states that you will be able to purchase merchandise on credit from The Horizon Outlet. A quick Google search provided me with the link that took me directly to the merchandise website. Finally, I would like to state that I DO NOT work for Horizon Card Services, nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I'm sure that if you research both the Horizon Card Services website and the Horizon Outlet website, you'll find that I'm correct.

I needed to ad one more thing.

Here is a line from the disclaimer listed above:

Here is the google search (paid advertisement to be on top of page in highlighted section)

Well, Millie Plat, you must work for this company and are paid so search the internet for people calling this card a scam and try to make their claims unfounded.

Well here is what I have to say about that...

SCAM!

I am not or ever was under the pretenses that this was a real visa or mastercard, but rather simply a normal department store credit card. but lets describe why this is a SCAM!

First, it states "THERE ARE NO ENROLLMENT FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACCOUNT." when I went through the actions of activating an account, I had to agree to pay $75 with my debit card just to activate the account and agree to let them take $14.95 out of my account monthly for a maintenance fee or something. (my numbers may be a penny or 2 off due to item number 2...)

Second, I tried to go back to the registration page to re-read the exact fees, and to re-read the terms of agreement, but, low and behold, you are not allowed to go back. It tells you that your alloted time to register has expired. all this tells me is that they do not want you to be able to go back and check up on them. Kinda shady, I think.

Third, I have been searching the web all over and can not actually find the site to go to actually see what online merchandise they are selling that I would have to choose from. This tells me that they probably don't have much to chose from and are simply just trying to get my money first before I find out I just paid them $75 and not buy anything.

But here is the best part of the SCAM! the reasons you cant find an online store, and the reason they don't advertise that it is an online store, or ANYTHING is because they are playing on the emotions of people with bad credit really needing to re-establish their credit and will do almost anything to do so. They are tricking them out of their money. I mean, if you want a Victoria secret credit card, at least you know what you can buy.

Don't get this card! SCAM!

You are welcome for my time (to the people at horizon gold credit card).

Ok now everyone seems to be going crazy with the word SCAM this card is not a scam if you would read the terms and conditions on the second page in the disclaimers in all capital letters it states:

"2. Disclaimers. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ IS NOT A CREDIT SERVICES ORGANIZATION, BANKING INSTITUTION OR INSURANCE COMPANY, NOR IS IT AFFILIATED WITH ANY CREDIT SERVICES ORGANIZATION, BANKING OR INSURANCE INSTITUTION. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT A VISA, MASTER CARD, OR DEBIT CARD. THE HORIZON OUTLET CARD™ ACCOUNT IS A LINE OF CREDIT THAT CAN BE USED BY AN ACCOUNT HOLDER TO SHOP EXCLUSIVELY AT OUR ONLINE SHOPPING WEBSITE. THERE ARE NO DOWN PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASES AT OUR WEBSITE. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ DOES NOT FACILITATE, NOR PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN OBTAINING CREDIT FROM ANY OTHER CREDIT-ISSUING ENTITIES. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ DOES NOT CHARGE AN ADVANCED FEE TO ESTABLISH CREDIT, NOR DOES HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ ATTEMPT, OR CLAIM TO ATTEMPT, TO ESTABLISH, RE-ESTABLISH OR REPAIR ANY CUSTOMER CREDIT HISTORY. THERE ARE NO ENROLLMENT FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACCOUNT."

No i know for a fact that this is printed in "2" font sizes bigger then the rest of the terms and for everyone calling this a scam. How could you not read before you sign up for something if you would like to blame a company for your mistake then fine fight it and lose just like everyone else has.

Thank you for your time.
