I placed a large order with Takealot on 02 November 2023 at around 05:45 and paid via online banking, I received payment confirmation from them at 05:56 and a delivery date of 07 November 2023. This order consists of pet food and medication for my pets, a pregnant dog and 3 cats, as well as a vacuum cleaner. I place a similar large order every month as I live in a small town in Mpumalanga and do not have transport to get to a larger town to purchase these articles.

On 06 November I tried tracking my order to see if it had shipped, tracking was not working on the app or the website, so I contacted customer service and received the following response:

"Your profile shows that your order is shipped, and is currently being scanned in at the courier hub. The delivery should reach you tomorrow as scheduled.

I have added a note on the waybill again, requesting for the driver to call before delivery, for visibility.

Your husband will definitely be able to sign for your parcels."

My order did not arrive as scheduled on 07 November, so I then contacted customer service again several times and received various answers, but no satisfactory response as to when I would receive my order.

My calls and emails are now being ignored by Takealot, who will not give me a contact number for the branch concerned in order for me to enquire personally what the problem is and my pets are without food due to this issue.

I have just had the telephone put down in my ear by a call centre agent.

Claimed loss: Pets are without food and I will incur extra expenses due to this issue should I not receive my order today, 08 November.

Desired outcome: I want my order delivered today, 08 November.
