Takealot They stole our private suitcases - it's been 3 months with no return

I’m appalled at Take-A-Lot's service and attitude toward my elderly (78 & 72 year old) parents. They simply pass the buck and do not take any responsibility for the suitcases they had to return to them/us. Proof was given that takealot incorrectly took the wrong suitcases and then after sending us a photo that they received it, they all of a sudden couldn't find them - even after they sent a photo showing they have them.

My parents have been e-mailing and calling takealot since the day this happened on 26 March 2022. On 02 April 2022 one of their agents sent a photo proving that our Private Suitcases (worth R5000 years ago when it was bought internationally) was received along with the other broken suitcases which we bought from them, that only made 1 trip then broke.

What they didn’t bargain on is that my elderly dad always prints everything – so he printed the email sent with the photos proving they did receive the our suitcases sent to them incorrectly plus the broken suitcases that we sent back for them to replace. Now, if you click on the link of the original email that they sent with their image proving they have both our suitcases, one can’t access it. But we have the proof.

Eventually they moved these cases from Somerset West Branch to Milnerton, where my brother in law went to that branch. The manager then said that he would love to give the suitcases back but unfortunately he cant because their company have a process to follow. What process? These suitcases belong to us. They've taken liberty with my elderly parents, passing the buck for months with no conclusion and lots of excuses. This is plain theft. My parents have really been patient but now we are doing what we need to do, in order for TakeALot to finally wake up and either return our suitcases or replace them or pay us the money of their worth.

Desired outcome: They must either return our suitcases or replace them or pay us the money of their worth, that it's wort now, not what it was worth years ago.

Takealot Delivery guy bad attitude

I received my order on time but as usual, your drivers stop at the gate and blow the hooter. They are too lazy to get out of their vehicles. I cannot always hear them and all the neighbours come out not knowing where the horn was blown. I told drivers before to get out and ring the bell which I have installed for such purposes. He eventually phoned me which is acceptable. I went out and told the driver that he must not be too lazy to get out and press the button. I have not finished speaking with him he kept arguing with me. I got fed up with him because it was getting a heated debate. I told him to just let me sign and give me the parcel which he refused. I closed the gate and wanted to leave. He then said he will give me the parcel. I went out but he started arguing again. He played the race card and asked if I wanted to hit him. I told him I don't hit people and must just hand me the parcel. He gave it to me can't believe I even tipped him. I insist on a written apology from him. In the future, if your driver hoots at the gate even if they phone afterwards I will not pick up the parcel. The registration of his bakkie was NX 28587 I think it best for him never to deliver a parcel to me again. Delivery date 24th June at about 11.00

Takealot Product refund

I have been waiting for my refund that was apparently processed 9 days ago. I am so divastated, I purchased the laptop becuase I need it to run my simulations for my final year project in Electrical Engineerig. This misfortune and dishonesty of Takealot is casing me a headache because I have thus far done everythong possible to communicate to me. The following is the last email I sent to them ans they have not reverted back to me:

This is an Inconvenience and getting me very unsettled.

I have been waiting for my refund from last week, a refund that was apparently processed on the 15th. My FNB Account has no outstanding payments, and the call to the bank confirmed that no money was sent to my account from takealot. I asked you guys for a proof of payment and you send me a picture of a table stating: payment processed, it is not enough. I need my money back, do an actual process now or send an actual proof of payment with an official stamp on it and the Account Details to which the payment was processed to

Takealot Order for iphone mrrn-yb56m-w89r

My daughter has ordered an I phone 11 64GB (purple) on the 31 May 2022, in stead of receiving the phone, on the 02 of June a bar soap was delivered and no apology was offered. On the 08 June 2022 the soap was collected, unfortunately now you want to deliver the phone that she does not want, which is a black one. please DONOT deliver a black I Phone you can rather deliver a white one if at all purple is no longer available.

I hope we will not have to fight since this has caused enough trauma to her. delivery a purple or white IPhone.

Please resolve the query before its get worse

Takealot Delivery tracking updated to state that I requested delivery to be rescheduled when I did not

I called the call centre (#[protected]) at 16:05 and specifically told the agent to have the driver call me, irrespective what time they get here if there was any issue in delivering the order.

I was assured that the driver would do so and received an email confirming as such.

The order left the Montague Gardens DC at 6:52am according to the tracking information (of which I have a screen shot)

The agent I spoke to also informed me that they deliver up to 19:00.

At 20:24 I updated the satisfaction survey stating that I still have not received my order as promised

When I checked the tracking info, it was updated and stated that I requested the delivery to be rescheduled. WHICH I DID NOT.

This is unacceptable and skews any reporting that might be pulled from their records and does not reflect the ineptitude of their delivery team to own up to their shortcomings and in the process flat out lie and deceive.

This is not the first time this has happened to me and I feel impotent in ability to have someone get taken to book and there be consequences for people not doing their work and being transparent about it.

Desired outcome: Update tracking information truthfully, stating that delivery could not be made due to issues or circumstances on Takealot's side. Shape expectations by communicating to your clients early and pre-emptively.

Takealot Returned wrong delivery and now can't get what I ordered

On Monday 23 May 2022 my wife ordered me a Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite for my birthday on 25 May 2022. The normal price was R1199 but they advertised it for R999 when she ordered. She paid the extra R70 to get it to me on the 24th of May. It arrived on time but because it was my present she didn't check the item in the box as to leave the box sealed for me to open.

On the morning of my birthday I opened the box and there was a Garmin Vivioactive 4 S ladies pink and gold smartwatch in it. It sells for R4499.

I was very disappointed but I started the return process. They picked it up only on Friday the 27th of May and Monday they simply replied via email that the item we wanted is not available and that they credited my wife's Takealot account.

That is unacceptable!

What would have happened if I kept the expensive watch? Who pays for mistakes like that from the supplier or Takealot's wide?

The Xiaomi Redmi Watch 2 Lite is still available at the regular R1199

Desired outcome: Just send me the watch I ordered and let me have the birthday I hoped for, please. Pay for your own mistakes, don't make the client pay for it.

I eventually got through to one of their customer care agents and my problem was sorted. They will deliver my watch on 6 June 2022. Hallelujah, no more complaints. Case resolved. Xavier J, you're a star. Well done.

I am battling for 5 days with Takealot for an Item I oredered.

The Item was dispatched to various warehouses in Gauteng. The Takealot system was updated as insufficient Delivery address. Takealot will contact me. Never happened. I lost quite a number of airtime costs on my mobile to have the problem resolved. To no avail. The Invoice when I placed the Order reflects the correct Delivery address. Someone is definitely not a skilled Computer or End User at Takealot South Africa. What a disaster. So, they blame me for my correct address on their system as insufficient. Oh Wow! I requested that the TV Advertisement Board Remove theTakealot TV advert ASAP as it is really not the reality. A false add.

Takealot Wrong Product Deliverd

I ordered the same product, Nutritech Product, for the second time from Takealot Cape Town and each time the wrong product was deliverd.

Product Order no and collection. Order #[protected] Collected Tue, 31 May 2022

To save me waiting time, i picked up the product myself, from my local depot, but every time it cost me more time because of the wrong produt delivered. from Takealot.

Are you not doing any controle on what was ordered and what is to be deliverd or is it just a lack in propper training and or plain lack of reading skills?

Please make sure that you have the correct product as ordered before shipping.? I suggest that Takealot do some training on the dispatch personal.

Takealot I have paid for same day delivery yesterday.

My parcel was suppose to be delivered today 23 May 2022. Depot is only 3km away. Received a message to say it will be delivered tomorrow 24 May before 5. How do I get a refund for this delivery fee and how do I know my parcel will arrive tomorrow? Very disappointed in your service! As delivery is free and to pay extra to have it quicker and yet you do not deliver!

Takealot Seller harassment and discrimination

I have been a seller for 2 years on Takealot and I have a legally registered company called Skipalot. We are legally registered under that name and it's the same name used on our Takealot Seller application and ID. Takealot have all these documents on record and we have been trading with them for 2 years under Skipalot.

Last week Monday 9th May 2022, we were booked to deliver an order at 9am at the Joburg Warehouse. When we got there the Takealot security harassed us and tried to intimidate us because they were unaware of how traffic laws work. We obeyed traffic laws and they didn't agree. They physically harassed us and blocked us from entering the premises for no reason, causing the order not to be delivered. This was all reported to Takealot and nothing was done.

Instead, today the 17th May 2022, they emailed us to threaten us that we must change our online seller name because it violates their terms. Not only is this insane, but discrimination since they don't own any right to the name Skipalot or anything related to the word "alot". It's illegal and we are the only company legally registered as Skipalot. We cannot use another business name and misrepresent our company or brand, since that is fraud!

Takealot sent this email and advised us that by COB we must change our name, which I emailed them and sent them our CK document again to dispute that this is not a violation and we are allowed to use our own business name.

This is highly unethical and harassment in the light of the events that have happened since last week. I believe that they have received our complaint about the harassment incident that happened at their premises and decided that they want to force us and negatively affect our business.

I view this as malicious and intentional because we have done nothing wrong and yet they have made us feel unsafe when delivering our orders and now they want us to change our legal business name! It's unacceptable and someone needs to hold them accountable for this.

Desired outcome: I expect an apology from Takealot and correct of the email sent to us. I expect disciplinary action towards the security involved in the physical harassment that happened

Takealot I wish their company would go completely broke and they would lose everything the way these people have done to me!!

Don't shop with these scam artists! As a seller I've personally experienced the [censored] this company puts it's sellers and ultimately it's customers through. You realize that the sellers are forced to add these extra costs from Takealot onto their products, which is why everything is more expensive on their platform. I was quite happy selling through them before the COVID pandemic, as I could store my items quite affordably with them and there were no issues with deliveries or returns, as it was handled in house. Also they advertised for us for free, where as now we need to pay into an advertising account which is just a link to Google ads. Now they are withholding money from me and I've sent out over 6 of my products that were cancelled and I've never received my products back. Also made at least 3 successful sales this month but not a cent to show from it from Takealot.

Also towards the end of last year in October I had all my products that I was storing with Takealot returned to me, as no one was buying my products. I had to raise the price of my items to ridiculous levels because of the extra storage fees, success fees and fulfillment fees that Takealot decided to start tacking on after the COVID pandemic (*seriously Takealot you're going to penalize us for being successful?). After I had these products returned to me, all these products (more than 98% of my products) were unbuyable and I was making no sales with Takealot since October in 2021 till March 2022. I couldn't get any responses from customer support and was sent a message in February apologizing to us sellers for the seller support services being unavailable for almost 4 months due to the COVID pandemic. I was so pissed with them for this as they still charged me two months of fees, not to mention my bank charging me monthly fees the entire time. Also because they charged me two months of fees I owed them R753, which they then added R2400 for unpaid fees. Now all my sales are being paid to pay back these pieces of GARBAGE!

I really thought all these problems would end when I started doing leadtime orders, not realizing the horrors that awaited me. You have to pay for delivery fees for the product out of pocket to deliver the product to JHB or CPT. This would be fine if most of my sales would be in Cape town, but more than 90% of my sales are to JHB, where I need to pay R150 just to ship one item to Takealot. And Takealot has the audacity to charge customers for shipping and then keep all those profits for themselves, while making us sellers ship out of pocket! Why Takealot do you work this way? There are 3 possible solutions to this issue. 1. Let sellers deliver to their nearest DC and you transfer it to the other DC using an INTER-DC transfer fee (right now as of 2022 it's still R7). 2. Pay us sellers the shipping fee the customer pays. 3. Get out of the way (give us the customer info directly and let the sellers deal with the customers and send the products directly to the customers). I cant keep doing business this way!

Takealot Makita cordless drill advertised at R60 special on facebook

I saw a special price on cordless drill that was advertised on takelot facebook page. I saw a list of few boxes and on 2nd box I clicked on the drill photo and I followed the link and ordered this drill. I typed in R60.00 payment from my credit card acc 490136********6000 and on 05/05/2022 my card was debited with following reference ONLINETGV.COM OFFICE11 with amount R694.88.

This is an UNAUTHORISED DEBIT AND CHARGE ON MY ACCOUNT - THIS IS FRAUD!

I also have to date not received any drill as yet!

Takealot Fake Versace Blue Jeans Perfume

My wife recently bought me Versace Blue Jeans perfume and received it on the 29/04/2022, I finally used it on 02/05/2022. First thing I noticed was that it did not smell anything like Versace Blue Jeans and that the smell only lasted for about an hour. I explained to my wife that it is definitely fake as I have used it for years and for the time that I was in London. I am not sure where they imported this product from. My wife has now wasted R 500 on a product that is fake and we are not able to return it.

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund and would appreciate an explanation as to why they do not advertise that the product is not the original.

Takealot Practice hand

I purchased a practice hand on Monday 25 April 2022 and it was said that it would be delivered on 28 April 2022 between 08:00-17:00. It's way passed 17:00 and on the app it says that it has been delivered and I did not receive it, not even a call.

What does that mean now?

Takealot Return rejected mrrn-xmg9j-7wbm

Good day. I am very unhappy with the experience I received from Takealot. I bought the [censored] boy Shine bright Duchess silver - I wore the shoes only 1 time. The upper sole came loose. I took it back to the warehouse in Princess crossing - after a couple of days I got rejection feedback and a copy of the return policy - indicating that they do not cover wear & tear or neglect. How can this be due to wear & tear only after I just wore it 1 time. Even after I queried the rejection I was only asked for my delivery address and the sneakers was delivered back to me. Im a loyal customer to Takealot and this is not on. Very unhappy with this service

Takealot Delivery

I have placed an order with takealot on the 30th of March, fully paid...untill today i havent received my order...send several emails, phone calls.

They just say they still busy investigating the case, because the parcel has been handed over to a third party. There is absolutely no contact details of the third party as it is my problem that they using a third party and hence i placed the order with takealot and not fast and furious couries.

Takealot Missing Item and Dishonest Driver

I have been ordering from Takealot for a while and this is the first time I'm experiencing such horrific and pathetic service. I ordered 4 items to a value of R707 , which was COD. The order was scheduled to be delivered on the 6thApril. The delivery guy pitches at my gate at 11.30am and shows me 1 small box and 1 poster brown roll. I immediately questioned the driver to ask (should there not be 4 boxes because i ordered 4 items). He was very rude and arrogant and just drove off without explaining. He rocks up again at 4.30pm and shows me the same small box and poster roll. Saying these are the only 2 items and the products will be all in the small box. He also confirmed that if something is missing I should go back to Takealot and say the item is shorted. I paid the driver the full amount in cash. When I opened the box , only 2 items where inside and the most expensive item on my order (A lego set ) was missing. I have send numerous e-mails to takealot. The investigation was closed because the driver lied and said he delivered 2 boxes. Nobody at the call centre or via e-mail could assist me. I even have the driver coming to my property twice and delivering the package , because I have everything on CCTV camera.

Desired outcome: I want my money back. The driver clearly lost/stole my package.

Takealot Service

I purchased a fast charger, from Takealot in March. I used it probably on two or three occasions. When I tried to remove it from the plug, one of the two-point prongs was left in the socket and I had to cautiously remove it.

I then logged a return and stated that it was defective, the product was collected and a while later. I saw that the return was declined, I thought that there was some sort of error and left it. Until, the courier arrived at my gate delivering the defective charger. I then proceeded to, email and query what had happened. several emails later and I was told that, they had declined my request for a refund, due to user negligence. What? this was surely obsurd! I know how to use a charger! The fact that the person, checking the product could not see that the prong was no longer part of the charger and decided that it was due to my negligence, is in my books incompetent!

I have not made a purchase since, then and frankly will rather do my shopping the old fashioned way again. I have had to send several emails, even requesting that they escalate the matter and wanting to speak to a Manager. I was not given any other explanation. Other that, It was my fault that the charger broke, and that they only sell products with the highest standards. This is NOT true! and I am apauled at the lack of decorum and just common decency to respond to my emails. I received a message stating that they will collect the product today and it states, at the reason section - exception. Not faulty product. But due to my constant baggering they decided to make an exception?! Gosh never again will Takealot get a cent from me. And I will surely be spreading the word.

Desired outcome: I would like the person, who checks the products to get their eyes tested. And the buyers to actually test the products before purchasing. And for Takealot to actually believe their customers!!
