On October 4th around 6:30 P.M., I went to the T-Mobile store located at
66 Ninth Avenue in Manhattan looking to buy some of your products. The store as usual was almost empty. While I was looking at the shelves displaying your products, one of your employees named Carlos approached me and asked "what was wrong with me" I was stunned. After a pause I said to him that I was inside of a public store looking at
the merchandise. He said that I was looking at his private information. I had no idea that unattended merchandise with screens visible on the tables were private. I had watched T-Mobile advertising and was expecting a courteous reception.
But Carlos was belligerent and continued aggressively insulting me. If there was a manager at the store, no one intervene to stop Carlos. The employees present seemed amused by Carlos' verbal assault. I felt threatened and horrified. I decided to leave immediately afraid of being physically assaulted. But promised to contact the company.
Speaking to some of my neighbors who reside and are members of the West 15th Street Block Association, there weren't surprised at my horrific experience at T-Mobile I was told that employees at your store are usually very rude and treat customers as if they are inconveniencing them. They avoid the place and call it T-Mobile Ghetto store.
I wrote to Mr. Sievert the head of the company hoping that he would address the threatening behavior of Carlos. But was giving some bs from Jaime Ryan an employee who send me a response and then she blocked me from responding. The job market as bad and it's in New York City; it shouldn't be hard to find well-mannered individuals trained on how to treat the public who are potential customers at the store. I have passed many times in front of the T-Mobile store and hardly have seen any customers inside. It makes sense now. Customers are probably afraid to enter the T-Mobile Ghetto Store and being verbally or physically assaulted just trying to by a merchandise.
