Since November when I move from Pine Arizona to Rimrock AZ I have experienced extremely bad connection problems with T-Mobile. On the first few calls they said their Tower in the area was being worked on, but that only works for a few months as an excuse. It actually was being worked on weekly.
As the year went on it was apparent they had issues with service in Rimrock. I managed to get hold of a few techs, and they admitted that there is now tower coverage in Rimrock with T-Mobile at all and it would never get any better. The Tech’s recommended I switch service to another company.
So I started researching and found that AT&T and Version have towers in my area. So, after wasting 9 months paying for a lack of service from T-Mobile, I found two other services at rates 10 times less than T-Mobile when I get a call from them saying they are canceling my plan and they are putting me on a plan that is $30 dollars a month More than my old plan. I told them I will not approve the change, and they told me I have no choice and they are switching the plan.
I told them I would find another carrier after 20 years with T-Mobil they just disrespected my wishes. When porting my number, the fought with me for hours on the phone trying to get me to take a lower cost plan to keep my lack of service. I finally got the number ported.
So, I ported my members out at the time my payment was due in September, so they had their final payment. Now a month later they are charging me $96 dollars. $71 dollars of that charge is for a mid-month change of plan that they changed, not me and without my permission! They forced the change and now that I left their service, they are charging me the $71 dollars as a punishment charge for leaving T-Mobil.
I did not authorize the change, and I will not pay the charge. I am going to stop payment and report it as fraud!
I called them to discuss this, but they refused to talk to me on the phone and made me go to the service center in the next town over 15 miles from me.
I went to the Cottonwood AZ (10/19/2026) store where a young guy said they do not handle billing issues and I would have to call the general number again when the obese guy with apparently no name jumped in to tell me, rudely, that the charge was for the last month and that charges were paid two months behind the service. I disagreed with him, but he insisted he was correct. Very rude for a person that does not seem to understand English or comprehend the basics of customer service.
I tried to point out it was mostly the punishment charge for the mid-month change of plan they did and he continued on telling me when I change my plans I have to pay that fee because it’s just the way it is, I just owe them my money. I told him I did not approve or change the plan, then the obese man just told me I had to pay it and it was their money.
In 20 years with them “I” had changed service plans a couple of time yet never once had to pay a fee! That is because this fee is a punishment for leaving their service.
I was done with him being he did not understand English apparently and yet he is some sort of manager. I don’t understand why this company keeps this guy employed with them when he has zero customer skills.
I don’t pay for things I did not buy just because a big conglomerate says so.
I want a refund of the fees. And I will never use or recommend T-Mobil again. They are putting themselves out of business.

Claimed loss: Charging me $71 dollars for changing my plan that I did not give them permission to change. And I want the obese manager (with no name offered) I talked to at the store fired as well for lying to customers and being rude!

Desired outcome: I want my checking account refunded $71 dollars. Before I stop payment for fraudulent charges!

Do not pay that $96 yet. Call your card issuer and dispute the $71 as an unauthorized plan change, and ask them to block further T-Mobile charges. Then email T-Mobile a written billing dispute asking for the plan change authorization, the call recording, and a full account ledger showing when the change was made. File an FCC complaint and a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General using that same email. Skip the store, they clearly cannot fix billing. Keep every reference number and the Cottonwood visit date. You have a solid paper trail, so make them answer it in writing.
