Steak 'n Shake - service @ e. colonial location
I came through the drive-thru to request and number 12 with a single Patty. I was asked to pull forward. I then have to ask if I don't get something to drink with my meal. The response "what do you want", I said " a Butterfinger shake". Next, a very long and silent pause... No acknowledgement of my order. I waited for several minutes before I heard "what else do you want". I said "nothing" then I heard "$8.18".
I cannot believe that this is the level of service that any customer can expect from your establishment. Downright horrible!
Then I received NO RECEIPT! I have no idea exactly what I paid for. Thought it was in the bag. Instead I got a piece of paper w/o prices (attached)
Steak 'n Shake - my drink
My drink was supposed to be a root beer . The lady at the window laughed and said to the gentleman in the back are you sure this is rootbeer and he said yes . I came home to drink it and it was either coke or water mixed with chocolate sauce . I'm also concerned that he spit in it or put something else disgusting in my drink because I feel very sick and have thrown up . This isn't acceptable. This Steak ‘n Shake is on 325 S veterans parkway in normal Illinois.
Steak 'n Shake - food wasnt satisfactory
We pulled in to steak an stake off Hillsborough avenue. We pulled to drive thru an they told us we had to wait 30 minutes to drive thru do to alot of orders they had in dinning room. We walked in my party contained 3 people. Angie, kim an mekka. I'm meka I order 2 Buttery sandwich my bread was hard not soft at all. It wasnt buttered at all. My onions were cold .My hamburgers were cooked hard. My friends order the 2 for 3 with the grill cheese sandwiches an hot dogs . Their names were angie & kim my dr pepper was water downed.im not satisfied. Can I have my food remade over. The right way we waited 45 minutes for our food. An they cooks an preparers wasnt wearing hair nets.. it was good everywhere
Steak 'n Shake - the entire business
After a 14 hour shift at my job, all i wanted was a burger and a shake.
I pulled up to the drivethru and there was a ladder blocking the drivethru.
So I decided to park and walk in.
I was then told "we're closed. drivethru only."
I responded with "the drivethru is blocked by a ladder?"
I got no response. The guy just walked away.
So i got back in my car and decided to drive back around. The ladder was still there. So i decided... okay, ill go to the window.
Three different employees walked past and completely ignored me.
I now wasted 30 minutes of my night, after a 14 hour shift at work, and i have no burger, no shake, and was just ignored by all of your employees.

I was just at the portage IN location and had the worst experience ever! Our server was fine but the kitchen help totally was not acceptable. We waited 45 minutes only to have me ask why it was taking so long. The manager replied o I'm sorry the grill cook is new. Not the customers problem! I told her we had to leave and all she did was stare at me. Again not acceptable! This was Portage, IN location on RT 6. The time was 5:50 arrival and my departure time was 6:45. No food, no apology, no have a good evening, no thank you...NOTHING! I would appreciate a return of this email
Steak 'n Shake - service
We went to the Steak and Shake #331 on Cattleman Rd. in Sarasota Florida expecting to receive the usual cold food and poor service like we get at the one on Victory drive in Port Charlotte, Florida. Even though it was the height of the lunch hour we were promptly greeted and taken to our table . Within minutes our waiter, Victor, came to take our order. In a short time our order was delivered, hot and prepared just right. Empty dishes were bused promptly and the bill presented timely by Victor. When paying the bill we presented a coupon but the cashier informed me that because of the current promotion our bill would be $1.00 less without the coupon. Considering all my previous visits to Steak and Shake, this has got to be my best experience, a true credit to the management of this location. My complaint is that I could not find anything to complain about.
Steak 'n Shake - closed
I have just relocated jobs right by your fields ertle location. In the past four weeks I have tried to stop by to go to the drive thru 6 times at all different times. When I was younger I lived right across the street from this location in Mason when it was opened 24 hours. The last six times I have went it was closed early with paper on the windows and drive thru saying closed early due to no staff. Tonight I went around 845 and it was closed again due to this reason saying they closed at 830.i get a time or two being closed with no staff considering I'm a restaurant manager. But all six times? Are you guys aware this location is closing early? Is there a solution your working on? I see online it closes at like ten or eleven now, but for someone like me that works nights and even trying to go earlier but can't because it closes early every night is RIDICULOUS. where is the gm? If the store cant run it needs to be closed till it can because this is how you lose customers. Get it together!
Steak 'n Shake - staff
Everytime i come to the steak and shake 1000 International Drive Daytona Beach Florida location the staff is alway rude, slow and just walk by you while you wait to be seated. Food is always cold and even when they are slow it still takes forever to get your food. I love steak and shake and never have problems at any but this one. It is a 30 minute drive from my house but my family really wanted shakes so my husband took us for dinner there and my daughter who always forgets her shoes (age 6) forgot them again and i keep a back up pair in my car in case this happens and my back up was not in my car this time. We had already drove all that way so we just went in and right when we did the girl at the front told us we had to leave that my daughter couldnt be in there without her shoes was super rude about it at this point i looked around and there are no signs saying no shoes no service so i asked to speak to the manager . The manager came and i let him know what had happened and that i didnt see anything saying we couldnt be served with not having shoe and he also was super rude and told me that it doesnt need to say that that everyone knows this and it does not need to be posted. I cant believe how rude he was when i was just trying to speak with him and see if that was correct and i thought talking to the manager things would be handled better and he did not know how to talk to people and nether did his staff. We live 5 mins from the beach and go out to eat all the time after the beach with no shoes and have never been turned down for service. I do understand every place is different but for the manager to tell me i should know this was not the right way to handle it. And if this was the case it would be nice to see a sign so it wont be questioned.
Steak 'n Shake - order wait time and quality of food and service
My boss and I went for lunch to the steak n shake in portage, Indiana. Our wait to was about 45 minutes for a 5-way chili & BLT sandwich w/fries. We were informed that they had 2 call offs and were real behind. Everyone else that were sat down seem to have gotten their food before us and they arrived after us. When we complained about the wait and not getting our food the waitress said she was going to make ours now when we had already been there for 20 minutes. When we finally got our food we had to take it to go because we were on lunch break from work. My BLT bread was barely toasted and hard as a rock and the fries were burnt and hard like nails. I was literally banging one on the dash board it you could hear the noise. My managers noodles were overcooked and sticking together. The cheese on the chili was hard and everything was cold. Although, are food was complimentary I feel the service was horrible and unacceptable just because you had 2 people call off, you call other employees in our the managers need to step up.
Steak 'n Shake - how dirty steak n shake is.
I went this morning to have breakfast. I went to the restroom and it was so filthy the wall had poop and the toilet had toilet paper in it. The food wasn' t that good either. The food was cool instead of being hot. They are really slow in taking your order. I heard one of the employees say cus word loudly. I think you need to send the board oc health to stesk n shake but dont let them know it
Steak 'n Shake - burgers
I have given Steak ‘n Shake MANY chances. I actually love the food. BUT, I will not go anymore. Here's why, the foods good but I always order a portobello mushroom burger and EVERY time there is ONE tiny mushroom on it. The last time I went, I took the burger back THREE times and on the third time there was still one teeny tiny mushroom on it, I gave up and left. That's my biggest complaint here. Other small things are that the fries are often super greasy, and they often mess up the orders.
Steak 'n Shake - the whole experience at this location.
Literally the worst service I've had in a long time. We sat for 10 mins before our order was taken. When it was taken it took 15 mins for us to get our food. When we got the food she made the comment that she was sick and didn't have to work today. After she was nowhere to be found. Didn't even have ketchup on the table had to ask another waitress. 20 minutes go by (I literally timed it) and our waitress never came back to ask us if we need anything. But in those 20 minutes we heard our waitress talking to another member using foul language about taking an order to another table. Needed to order more food and couldn't because no one was around so we used the Stake n shake app. When we got the food it was wrong and cold.
Steak 'n Shake - poor service
On 10/5/18 we went to the Englewood, OH Steak 'n Shake for a birthday party. We had 7 in our party. They weren't busy when we got there, and it took about 20 minutes for them to take our order. We were there for about 35 minutes when a party of 12 arrived, and about 10 minutes later a party of 3 then others came in. 5 of our party got their food in about 1 hour. They all ate and finished, and 2 of us hadn't received food. Then the party of 3 got their food. Then the party of 12 were getting their food, and 2 of us had no food in sight. The children were getting tired of waiting, so we got up to leave, and no wait staff were approaching. I went to speak to the female manager and let her know our situation and that we were leaving - without food - and all she could ay was "I'm terribly sorry". Can you offer something to induce us to return to your restaurant?

Steak 'n Shake - server crystal at high ridge mo steak n shake
My friend and i are regulars at this Steak ‘n Shake. So much so that certain servers know what we will order and such. The past couple tomes going we have received Crystal as our server. Each time she has made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Last time i asked for more napkins and she didn't want to get us some because there was 1 on the table. 1. She also got us our drinks, and then asked us again what we would like to drink? It was just odd. Almost like she's not there fully or is on drugs. She doesn't make sense when she talks and try's full sentences. Her service makes us not want to go there because we have been getting her every time now.
Steak 'n Shake - manager
My girlfriend and i came to steak n shale for dinner and we had our newborn baby with us. He started to cry and the manager made the server ask of we wanted a to go box and less than two minutes later the manager herself brought us the check without even bothering to ask if we were done. I had to tell her we wanted to order more. Very unprofessional and made us feel like unwanted customers.
