I bought an HP Laserjet printer from the Staples store 148 0n 04/07/2022. I got home that same day to set up the laserjet printer and I looked inside the box and the printer was a Deskjet printer (including the setup guide, plug ins and the Deskjet icons on the printer) I returned the box that same day back to the store and explained everything that happened to the store associate. They confirmed that the wrong item was placed inside the box but they can not offer my refund. They said since HP is the direct manufacturer I would have to call HP in order to get the issue resolved. I told them that I wanted to return the item and they refused it and I showed them my receipt and asked to speak with a store manager but none were onsite I called their corporate office that same day (evening) and the person to handle the store dispute was closed for the day. I requested the number to call for the person in charge of the store's issues from another associate. I left the printer in the store after speaking with an associate to let him know that the printer was left in their care. The next day, I called the number of the person in charge of store disputes [protected]) on 04/8/22 to speak with Joe. He got my side of the story and that it would take 48 hours to resolve it. He called me back on 4/11/2022 and let me know that Staples is not making any refund to me because the product that I left the store with is different from the product that I returned. I asked him to help me understand why I would not be given a refund and he said that is where Staples stand.
