A contractor was laying new sewage lines when he cut the Spectrum cable, leaving me and my next door neighbor without service. This occurred on Thursday morning, Oct 8th. I called Spectrum at 11:30 AM and talked to a lady who told me my service would be restored by 3:30 PM. No one ever showed up, so I called again and talked to Tierra. She said I needed an appointment and the next available was Monday, Oct 12th. I was upset but took it. On Friday morning I called again and complained that I shouldn't have to wait 4 days for a repair. I talked to a man named Sam in Atlanta. He put me on hold for a long time. When he returned he said he just got off the phone with the Special Service Team in my area and they would be at my home between 8 and 10 am that day. At 10:00 I called again and lo and behold I got Sam again. He said they would be here in 10 minutes and to call him back if they weren't. I said how do I know I would get him again, and he said my call would go directly to him. Well, 30 minutes later I called back, and of course I didn't get him. I got some Indian sounding guy who knew nothing about my problem. All he could tell me was there was no Special Team coming and that I had an appointment for Monday. About 12:30 PM I called again and got Amanda in Kansas. She was so helpful! She scheduled a technician to come between 8 and 10 am on Saturday. He showed up at 8:00 am but couldn't fix the problem. He said I needed a new "Tap" and that someone else replaces those. He left and Chris showed up about 11:00 am. After assessing the situation he said the cable had been cut and he would reconnect it. The Tap did not have to be replaced. Chris was GREAT! Fixed in 10 minutes! But why did it take this long? And why did the first lady lie to me? And why did Sam repeatedly lie to me. According to Amanda, she has no way to talk directly with the Special Service Teams. Yet that is what Sam said he did. I was being told anything to get me off the phone (in my opinion). In approximately 40 years with Cox I never had this kind of treatment/service. Once I talk to a Spectrum representative on the phone, I should be able to contact that same person if I need to follow up. By the same token, they should call me back to follow up. I'm just so frustrated!
Desired outcome: Spectrum should change their procedures.
