To Whom It May Concern,

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding ongoing and unsafe failures by Shoppers Drug Mart Home Health Care (Store 184 – Moncton, NB) to provide my prescribed tube feeding supplies in a timely and reliable manner.

This issue has occurred repeatedly on a monthly basis despite my supplies being ordered well in advance. Most recently, I was left completely without my prescribed tube feeding formula and essential administration supplies (feeding bags and syringes). As a patient who relies on enteral nutrition, this placed my health and safety at serious risk.

My dietitian attempted to arrange a substitute formula due to the delay; however, I was unable to tolerate it. I was only able to access a very limited emergency supply through the Moncton Hospital ER, which has since been exhausted. No patient should be placed in a position where they are expected to go days or weeks without food due to preventable supply and communication failures.

When I contacted the store urgently on a Sunday to explain that I had no nutrition, the staff member did not initially offer an apology or demonstrate urgency. Only after I pushed firmly did they check the back stock, where two full cases of Peptamen 1.5 were found — meaning the product had been physically available the entire time but had not been looked for. Had I not strongly advocated for myself, I would have remained without nutrition.

While I have since been informed that my full order may arrive on February 16th, this does not address the broader and ongoing issue. I am still without critical feeding supplies required to administer my nutrition, and I continue to experience repeated monthly disruptions that are medically unsafe and unacceptable.

I am requesting:• A formal review of this location’s handling of home health nutrition orders• Assurance that my monthly tube feeding supplies will be proactively protected and delivered on time moving forward• Clear accountability and escalation pathways so I am not placed at risk again

Access to prescribed nutrition and medical supplies is not optional. These failures have caused unnecessary distress, risk, and disruption to my care, and I expect corrective action.

Sincerely,Danielle Downey
