I am a frequent shopper on Goodwill.com but am getting tired of the inflated prices on shipping PLUS a handling fee.
I am a seller on Ebay and know what the costs are to ship per weight.
Yesterday, I purchased a BRA on Goodwill that was $7.99, then was charged $14.10 for shipping, IN MY HOME STATE! from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach. Plus a handling fee of $1.99.
The bra weight was clearly under a pound, and my Ebay packages of that weight cost the buyer around $4.67 with USPS ground advantage shipping. Even a USPS padded envelope is only around $8.50 with the Ebay discount.
Goodwill should negotiate with Fed EX if that is their desired shipper. but I would like to know who is getting all the extra money for shipping!
I also bought a blazer same day, and the cost of shipping to me in Florida from Kansas was $8.14, and the weight was surely more than the bra.
I'm sure that these outrageous prices are deterring a lot of folks from purchasing on Goodwill. I know that I will definitely reconsider my purchases.
PLease advise!

Before I finished reading, I already knew you were talking about a Florida location. That's not to say the other locations don't have inflated shipping. But Florida is the worst! I am also a reseller and in the state of Florida, myself and I have written to them on even a dress that they show in the description as 0.5 lbs. and yet they base the shipping on 5 lbs. Making it over $23. They came back with - "The shipping companies now charge by the size of the package, not by weight. We input the size of the box that the item will be shipped in, and the shipping company calculates the rate to ship the item"
I have received framed paintings from the mid-west that were almost half the cost of this mini dress..
