Sheetz review: Food

On July 6 2021 at 4:15 pm I stopped at a sheetz store on Julian Allsbrook Hwy in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina for gas and food as we traveled from South Carolina back to Maryland. ( Anytime there is a Sheetz store that is our only option as they are always great). However when I went into this store it was dirty, The coffee bar and soda area was sticky, there were no cup carriers and the employees did not care to help me find any. Every employee I came in contact with was rude, unconnected and didn't appear to want to be there. None of this so far would prompt a complaint from me however when we received our food and got in our car heading up 95 north, my daughter opened up her steak sub and found an absolute mess. The bun wasn't cut the entire length of the sandwich, the bun was soaking wet and it look like it was not edible. She could not eat the sub so she looked at her hot pretzel and found that the inside was not cooked and it too was not edible. So at that point I'm extremely frustrated, just spent over $100 at sheetz between gas and food and I'll have to stop up the road and get my daughter more food because it wouldn't be worth the hassle of going back to that store. Very disappointed in Sheetz store and it's a shame because I've literally been a patron of Sheetz for 30 years and can't recall ever having an experience like that. I won't stop using Sheetz, but I'll never stop at the Roanoke Rapids sheetz store ever again.
