My wife and I, ages 52, stopped to purchase a 12 pk of alcohol. We both approached the cashier, my wife placed the 12 pk on the counter. I pulled out my wallet to pay and the cashier said that he needed to see her I.d since she placed the pack on the counter. I said I was paying for it and I have my I.d. He then said you can be buying it for her. I said it’s both of ours and we are both 52. Then I said do I have to go back in the cooler to get my own? He said no, cause you can be buying it for her. I said but she is 52, can I talk to the manager. She was actually standing right there and witnessed the whole incident. She then said we are not supposed to do that, we can loose our job. This did not make any sense to me. I, myself own a business with a liquor license and never treat my costumers this way. Very disappointed.
