Sears review: Hand tool warranty nearly worthless nowadays
Wish I could give ZERO stars. No hassle unlimited tool warranty gone. I wished to either get a Craftsman ratchet wrench repair kit or a replacement tool. I called 2 800 numbers, first hung up on me, second number was not even valid. OK, so I think I will try online. I get to the Sears site where you can fill out a form for warranty claims. My tool is likely 50 or more years since bought. I have no receipt. Sears wants a date code and a date code week. Yet, the offered dates only go back a few years, not 50 for sure. Wants me to take a photo of the tool with a hand written note of the date I am applying for my claim. I have no idea how to get a photo into my PC. I could back when I used Windows 7 but I am on Win 10 and it does not work with my camera. I am no computer whiz. No input on date of purchase, no picture with the hand written note that's a dead end for filing claim. I can buy a nice ratchet off of Amazon for $13 to $15 and I am going to put up with this S? NOT!
Recommendation: Forget trying to use the unlimited tool warranty unless you have the receipt and bought it in the last 5 years.
