Dear Store Manager,
I am writing to formally complain about the extremely unprofessional and disrespectful service my husband and I experienced today at the Sam’s Club location in La Habra involving your associate, Matt.
While checking out, we placed our items on the counter to be scanned. Matt immediately criticized my husband for how the items were arranged and stated that the way they were placed made it difficult for him to scan. His tone was unfriendly and accusatory. Although we were surprised by his attitude, my husband calmly rearranged the items exactly as he requested.
We then proceeded to pay with cash. Matt appeared visibly unhappy that we were paying in cash. After counting the money, when he returned our change, he deliberately threw the coins onto the floor instead of handing them to us. He made no effort to pick them up. My husband had to bend down and collect the coins himself.
This behavior was disrespectful, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. As paying members of Sam’s Club, we expect to be treated with basic courtesy and professionalism.
After the incident, I reported the matter to Assistant Store Manager Jessica. She informed me that she would speak with Matt regarding his conduct. I appreciate that she acknowledged the issue; however, I would like to request a follow-up regarding the outcome of this complaint.
Due to this experience, we will not be renewing our membership and will not be returning to this location.
I respectfully request that this matter be taken seriously and that we receive a response regarding any actions taken.
