Safeway review: Refund policy

On 5/12 I purchased our groceries at the Wodonga store as I have done for the last 47 years. Among my purchases was a 3 pack of Butter Menthols $6-50. Upon unpacking I noticed pack was open and contents damaged to the point product was exposed. On 8/12 I returned to the supermarket to show them. The girl was aggressive in manner asking did I have a receipt which I didn't as I feel you discourage the printing of receipts. I explained I had bought them there which she questioned. I said why would a lie about such a small thing and all I wanted was to swap them over, She denied my request saying I need a receipt. * became agitated and said no wonder shop assistants get abused as her manner was one of aggression, yet I am supposed to control myself over a trivial manner which she had accused me of being a liar. I may have said a parting word which I regret however she did not give me back my product so now has stolen it. Very poor response from your staff as I read you could have given me a credit voucher, but why not just swap them.
