To whom it may concern:
A few days ago, I did a search on line for reclining sofa. Since then, I have been overwhelmed with ads from Rooms To Go and specifically with a sofa that seems to satisfy my expectations. On Monday (7/14/25), I received an email from Rooms To Go about the item, sales price and free shipping. So yesterday, at about 2:30PM, I visited the store in Virginia Beach, told the saleswoman about the ads, the email and gave her the SKU (1169693). I tested the sofa, she gave me the price, I mentioned the free shipping again but she checked her Ipad, took my personal data (name, address, telephone number, email address), and said no to free shipping. Then she decided to call for a manager who arrived shortly, greeted me with a smile and handshake. He said that the free shipping deal was for July 4th but I said I received an email a day before with the promise of free shipping. The saleswoman said that now the shipping was $89. I asked if the price included installment of motors but he did not know and turned to the saleswoman. She said yes, so I asked how much was the delivery without the setup – she said it was free. What a shock because for the last 10 minutes both of them claimed that the shipping was not free. I did not like the contradiction – it seems that the manager was incompetent (did know that there were different charges for different shipping). Both of them turned around, without shaking hands or saying good bye. I believe that both of them were very arrogant and unfriendly. It also shows that your ads are not truthful.
Disappointed,
Mark Wermus
