We were never informed that our escrow account had a negative balance of over 4000 dollars. Because of that they were going to raise our monthly payment from 562.00 to 1400.00 per month. When we asked why we weren't informed earlier when the matter could have been resolved with a few hundred dollars, the reply was, 'Oh, we only do an annual escrow analysis" They offered to spread the payments out over 24 months where we would be paying 752.00 per month. Then they decided there was an issue with the insurance. We acquired TWIA, I emailed 4 copies, and they claimed they couldn't process the paperwork. I sent two more copies and the reply was, they'd received it, they were processing it and that there was no further action required on my part. Then we get a letter from TWIA stating that the insurance had been denied by the mortgage company, The mortgage company would not pay it. Instead, Rocket Mortgage purchased a more expensive windstorm policy and bumped up my monthly payments to 979.00 per month. We have tried repeatedly to explain the hardship this will cause us, but I can't get any help or understanding from this company. We re senior citizen on social security, a fixed income. We simply can't afford this. We don't know what to do...We want them to accept the TWIA insurance, drop our monthly payment back down to 752.00, and keep us informed of any and all changes in a timely manner so we don't have to face this type of situation again.
Recommendation: Run FROM Rocket Mortgage, you never get to speak with someone who has the authority to make actual changes; only call-center staff.
