Starting July 2022, I bought three properties (one residential, two properties to rent out) in Estremoz, Portugal from Re/Max Castelo agency in order to move to Portugal to take care of my elderly sick mother who lives most of the time in Portugal.

All three properties bought from the same Re/Max agent working for Re/Max Castelo office who later moved to Re/Max Dual office in Evora city turned out to be very problematic.

The paperwork of the residential property in Estremoz turned out to be completely incorrect (measurements, registration etc..) despite being signed off by the Re/Max agent, his supervisor and a licensed notary and licensed lawyer at the time of the purchase; the second property in Estremoz center never had a commercial license downstairs as mentioned by Re/Max agent several times, the downstairs area is just a garage and the third property will never have artificial beach built around the lake reservoir by Estremoz Municipality as stated several times by the Re/Max agent.

To this day, a year after the purchases of these three properties in Estremoz, no one from Re/Max Castelo office has been held accountable.

I have now lost a significant amount of money and endless time trying to resolve the status of these properties (I ended up selling one property at a significant loss, I lost an entire 20% deposit on another property and I am still paying a Portuguese law firm to try and sort out/rectify the paperwork of the main Estremoz property over one year after its initial purchase).

At this time, I can no longer afford to move to Portugal to take care of my sick mother because of the lack of due diligence, misleading marketing/lies and greed of this Re/Max agent and Re/Max Castelo agency.

In any developed country, the Re/Max agent, Re/Max Castelo agency, the licensed Portuguese notary/lawyer would be held accountable under a functionary judiciary, business/peer association and/or customer protection service institution.

Instead, this Re/Max agent and Re/Max agency are operating as usual with absolutely no consequences probably preying on other potential buyers while I am trying to resolve this situation by paying a Portuguese law firm at my own expense and time.

Desired outcome: Compensation for the loss of money/time in relation to the three properties purchased in Estremoz from Re/Max Castelo and accountability/consequences to the Re/Max agent, his supervisor and the owner/shareholders of Re/Max Castelo agency.
