Stay away from LaFitness, its a scam. They are too busy building other clubs to keep their existing facilities functioning and clean. As for trying to cancel membership, joining was easy just swipe your credit card and your in. To get out however its an completely different story... Got to your local club, get a printed statement, post it to their HQ, and have the privilege of paying another months dues. While at the same time suffering their horrid customer services. The last service agent that I spoke to accused me of personally attacking her by saying LAFITNESS ***. Well it does...
I've dealt with Aaron's for a short time when I first went there they were very nice so I referred family members to them only to have a new lady take over managing the store and becoming a complete *** My family members returned the items and will not do business with them again. Know I've dealt with this lady and I feel the same way if I hadn't paid so much of my money for this item They could come take it and shove up there *** when this is paid off I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!

On 9/25/08 I went to Pep Boys for replacement of store-brand tires that wore out after 33, 000 miles. The receipt from the original purchase indicated a 60, 000 mile warranty. So, I went out of my way for what I expected to be a good pro-ration adjustment.

The warranty on those tires is now 40, 000 miles. Most of these tires were not lasting more than that, so the warranty was adjusted as a result. The service advisor, citing company policy, said that my pro-ration claim was based on the current 40, 000 mile warranty, not the 60, 000 mile warranty in effect at the time of purchase.

I get that the money at stake is only about $20 per tire. But I'm irritated that they overstated the tire performance, ratchet down the warranty after the fact, and then don't prorate the assorted fees that come with a tire purchase and, at about 50% of the cost of the tire, seem excessive. I filed a complaint on the corporate website; let's see how that goes.

This company has free trials for many products. All you need to do is pay $3.95 for shipping and handling. I ordered Colon Cure and Green Tea 500. I received the products with a Customer Service slip of paper. There was not a Company name including or mention of canceling within 14 days to avoid being billed $89.31.

I should have known that something wasn't right when the last line stated, "Where here to help, Hassle Free, Guaranteed!", instead of "We're". When I called [protected], I was told that I should have read the terms and conditions. This is truly a scam. Beware!

I too had small debits from a Friday come through on Tuesday with a large check. I should have had 1 NSF fee, but they always manage to make it look like all charges came through the same day and charge you 6 NSF fees. I have sent my complaint to the Office of the Controller of Currency. Don't know how they can get away with it.

I had fraudulent charges on my account 3 weeks ago, and they have just now resolved that issue with items returned and huge late fees. When I asked how they can return items when the problems is still trying to be resolved, I got the answer of "Well, the system doesn't understand". What idiots.

I wish I read the reviews about Rooms To Go prior to ordering from the store! This has been one big mistake! We bought my daughter's first "big girl" bedroom set from Rooms To Go because it was the least expensive place we found. We were pleased with the sales assoc but were discouraged with the 7 week wait on the furniture. Then, we found out they will only deliver to my zip code on Wed. Well, we are normal people who both have to work during the day. Luckily I have wonderful neighbors who agreed to let them in. Half of my order was delivered 8 weeks later (not 7 like promised) and left in very heavy boxes in the doorway of my 4 yr old's room! The bed was supposed to be delivered the following Wed, but after one attempt to call my cell phone- which never went through- the truck left my house and said they couldn't come back to my "zip code" until the following Wed making it a total of 10 weeks to receive her bed! After telling everyone at work not to ever use Rooms To Go, 2 ladies here said they each had the same problem! Rooms To Go needs to get their act together, hire a new delivery company, and get more stock before building these new stores!

I have experienced the same issue with my interest rate going from 7.99 to 24.99 with no notice. I called and they claim to have sent a letter of this change yet that is not true they send you those checks out every month and printed the change on the back and no one notices until they go to pay their bill earlier and notice there finance charges have risen to an unaffordable level.

Does any know which attorney generals office to file a complaint with? If so please post. Thank you another irate customer just trying to make a living.

I was scammed into this also. I don't know what they are doing or think they can do but my bank account is all messed up! I can't cancel though I've tried and my total amount balance due changes (higher of course) every month. They won't stop calling me for promotions either! I don't know what else to do but I will do anything to get out of this. Class action law suit sounds great! I'm in! Anyone know what else can be done about this at all? Let all of us know asap!

Just awful... Magazinecity.com, that is obviously scamming and cheating their customers. I put an order for a gift subscription for a magazine for Christmas in to them on December 6, 2007. We have never received the magazine and everytime you call customer service you have to wait on hold 40-45 minutes, and they when you speak to them they lie to you and do not take care of the problem. Unfortunately after the fact I noted on the internet numerous complaints and poor reviews of this company taking money from people placing orders and no product received. Granted one order is not a lot of money, however if they do to this to a million people it does add up, doesn't it?

I wish I read all the comments prior to ordering my daughter's first "big girl" furniture. This was an exciting time for all of us until now, 8 weeks later, and still only have half my order! The warehouse will only deliver to my zip code on Wed, and my husband and I are normal people who have to work during the day! Luckily I have wonderful neighbors who let them in with the first part of my order which was left in the doorway of her room in very heavy boxes! Now, they tried delivering the bed and left because I didn't answer my cell phone-which by the way has NO voice mails or missed calls-and will not return until NEXT Wed! I will never do business with this company again and hope everyone else will read these comments before ordering! I'm contacting the store to either cancel my order or try to get another delivery date sooner than another week but have been on hold for 15 minutes and now have to wait on a manager to call me back! Good Luck to all of you with the same issues!
I logged into my bank account and saw an overdraft on my account due to a charge of $12. I called the bank and they gave me the 1-800 number to the people who were charging me who I never heard of before in my life! Of course, reservationrewards.com

It turns out, that according to them I signed up for there BS service when I bought a hardrive on Buy.com (at the beginning of the summer).Today is October 1st and when I called them it turns out that they've been charging me for 5 months (do the math, 5x12=$60). They were quick as *** to give me my money back, especially when I told the guy that I did a Google search on the 1800 number and told him all the hits I got back saying how it was a scam. As a matter of fact before speaking to customer service, canceling there service was one of the first options to dial. I just got off the phone so now I'm waiting for my money. I'm sure as *** not going to let them off the hook. That's how you have to deal with people like this, keep *** until they set things straight. Today is Wednesday, if buy Monday (the third business day) I don-t get my money back I'm filling a police report and/or joining whatever class act there is against them.

Don't *** with consumer if you don't want them to *** you back.

I ordered a bed, got a great deal on it. But the headache of getting anybody, and i mean anybody to help me understand why it's been three weeks and my status is still "not shipped" is absolutely unreal.

Mercantila:

This is the worse customer service I have ever had the displeasure of working with. I order a lot over the internet, but i have never been so disappointed, angry, and frustrated as I am now. The only person that answers their phone is sales, I have asked for a refund if they can not ship my product to me.

I am forced to involve the BBB. I sent an email letting them know that I was doing this, hoping it would help. Obliviously they're not even checking their emails. I got no response.

Ordered a bed a month ago, and still sleeping on the floor. My last e-mail to IKEA is below, and I'm on hold waiting for a supervisor right now.

"I ordered my furniture almost a month ago now, and after quite a bit of trouble with Purolator I finally got it at the start of September. However, when I went to put my Dalselv bed together, I noticed that some of the holes that were to be drilled in the frame were missing. I immediately called Ikea (on September 4th), spoke to a representative, and was told that someone would contact me in three to five days. My phone does not have voicemail and so an e-mail was sent to me on the 10th with contact times -- which were wrong. When I called on Friday September 12 at seven pm, as the e-mail said I could, customer service was closed. I called again last Monday, the 15th, and was put on hold for twenty minutes before speaking to a representative. She told me that I'd have to wait another thirty minutes before talking to someone else, and I wasn't able to do that because I was on my way to class. I asked if someone would be able to call on the Tuesday, and she said that wouldn't be a problem - but I didn't get a call until yesterday (September 20th) at noon, when I was in class. I bought an Ikea bed frame (among other things) a month ago, and am sleeping on a mattress on the floor. This problem could be rectified easily by sending a tech with a power drill to my apartment, and that's what I expect to happen as soon as possible. If it's not possible, I'd like to return my bed frame and the slats that go with it - I will buy another bed frame from someone else. Please have a supervisor call or e-mail me."

I called back on my own, October 1st, two weeks later. After missing Ikea's call once and then sending an e-mail, in which they PROMISED they'd call and never did.

DO NOT SHOP AT IKEA.

What a scam! Awesome Auger has to be one of the biggest rip offs I have ever come across. I was under the impression that I ordered 2 auger sets AND 2 cordless drills. My credit card was charged $76+ even though by receipt did not add up to that amount.

TWO months later, I have received one auger set. I've emailed numerous times with no response. I finally was able to reach a human being today. She didn't like what I had to say so she transferred me to a supervisor. Both ladies had an attitude issue and basically I was told that it was too bad that I didn't understand their scam on their website. IF you want the drill, even though it does NOT say so, you must add an additional $40 S/H for each.

My advise, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CROOKS!
I wanted to replace my Dish Network service to have an experience with a different company and compare. Direct TV contractors came three times to my house and all three refused to install the antenna in the same place where Dish Network had performed a flawless installation.

Wasted my time and have no excuses since competition had done it before. They just didn't want ot bother to do a non so straight install. If they don't care before you become a customer how will it be once you are already one?

Stay away from them. Cable and no commitments is the way to go.

I always read reviews before buying, but this time I got bit. I was in an ARM and it was coming due. In order to get the best deal, I wanted to go with 2 lenders and take the best one. I knew that appraisals could vary, but I was in for a shock! Lender #1: A local bank had a higher interest rate, but the appraisal was $330. The appraisal amount came in at $244k. The previous appraisal was $248k, three years ago. Not bad.

Lender #2: Quicken Loans charged $550 for their appraisal. The appraisal came in at $206k! Almost $40k less then Lender #1. The agent wanted me to accept a second appraisal. If it came in less then $240k, then I would pay for it, otherwise; he would credit the amount at closing. Uhmmm... I guess I must have sounded really stupid if he thought I was going to accept that!

Bottom line: Always review before you buy. If it doesn't feel right, don't do it!

Had I followed my own rule, I wouldn't have lost $550. I just hope I can keep others from doing the same.

This website really is a scam. i tried to book a flight for the same day due to a family emergency. I kept on getting error messages after i gave my payment info and they prompted me to call their customer service. It ended up making the reservation in the wrong date. So i had to incur a cancellation charge and make new reservations. i ended up making numerous calls to find out the status. never received my ticket thru email (waited 5 hrs). They told me it was in the ticketing queue and should arrive in a couple of mins. i call an hour later only to find out that it had been canceled. So i had to make a 3rd reservation at a higher price. the whole time i was led in circles, the agents were rude and not understanding. they put me on hold for long stretches of time until they just hung up. If you keep calling them they flag you and are reluctant to help. none of their names and extensions are real. In the end i got charged 3 times for one ticket! Never using them again. WARNING: don't be mislead by their low fares, they'll raise them last min which you'll be responsible for.

Don't get sucked into buying a membership. We bought one knowing we were going to make some major purchases for our home. Sales presentation makes you believe they really can get better pricing. But, the truth is, you're better off shopping retail. We replaced a fence using a popular local (South Jersey) fence company. DB's price WITHOUT installation was as much as our installed price... dinnerware they sell in their catalog was less expensive direct from the manufacturer! (via web or catalog). Direct Buy doesn't guarantee the consumer anything... BUYER BEWARE! and they have a NO REFUND policy... don't waste your money!

Apparently in the 2- year contract we signed it stated that we needed to give a 30-day notice to cancel. Well our contract was fulfilled and we ported our numbers 2 days after it expired.

Well now Centennial sends us a bill for Sept - Oct for services we can not even use becuase our numbers were ported to our new provider. And they won't remove the monthly charges becuase of thier 30 day notice. I think it's BS that you pay these companies so much money every month and then they won't even credit you one, especially since we can not even use it! And what peeves me the most is that I had done thier online chat and went to thier local office before we switched to inquire about switching since this was our 1st cell phone account and i was not sure if we needed to do anything special and not once did any one find it necessary/helpful to 'remind' me of this 30 day policy that's stated in a contract that the terms were up on anyways.

After switching to a cheaper plan where the rep said there was no charges for switching plan, I was double billed for the same month. When called to rectify the matter, the rep said the 2nd charge was for switching plans. Being fed up, they screwed up my billing 3 previous times before, I asked to terminate the service. And was transferred to waiting music that has continued to play for over a full hour. They don't like to pick up the phone when you want to terminate service! How can I terminate vonage out of my life? Their rep are liars! There are many other instances of lies they are told, I don't blame the rep, its the company that trains them to lie!

Recently we have gotten a new phone from T-MOBILE that should have been a family plan but so I can get a bigger discount we agreed to pay 1 line as an individual line for 1 month and guess what up to now after how many months they been charging me the other line as an individual line so thats an additional 30 dollar monthly we call they always make a mistake and apologize for it. I said that feels like a conspiracy I'm losing money because your costumer representative made an error informing us that someone call for our line to be separated Are we that stupid, to call them so we will pay more, they are a big company so I am not sure if they train their costumer representative to made errors so the company earn more at the consumer behalf after all the charges that they normally add in a bill they still have to have trained people to make error and make them richer some more, I will never want to be a part of this company, its like a parasite sucking whatever it can suck, they always apologize but I am losing money for their errors, T MOBILE I AM PISSED and ALL will KNOW.
Bought a gift card from Guitar center 09/13. Still haven't received. Called them. They said wait 30 days. 30 days for a gift card! Do they know how a gift card works? You don't buy a gift card with the anticipation of waiting 30 days! Who does this? Also, they charged me tax on a gift card. That's illegal. You can't charge tax on a gift card.

Any good lawyers out there looking for a good class action suit, here it is. Illegal taxation across a broad scale. How many others have they done this to?
We have received numerous calls from ER Solutions looking for a person who we do not know, have never known and yet, despite telling a company rep that no such person lives here and they must have the wrong number, the calls continue. We have reported them to www.ftc.gov (federal trade commission) which I suggest everyone who has a complaint against them do the same. ER Solutions leaves a message for a person with an 800 call back number, but when you call back, it doesn't do any good, as they just ignore your request to stop the calls. Each person we have talked to says our number is not in the system, well, it has to be somewhere as they keep calling! UGH, ###s, true ###s.

This collection agency called my sisters house looking for me, without authorization to contact her. I don't appreciate it. You really shouldn't call others houses looking for individuals that don't live there. The person who called could hardly speak english and wouldn't give any information. My sister didn't know who it was or what the problem was. So therefore she would not give them any information. I feel it is unnecessary to call relatives to get information on an individual. And if your going to do so, have someone who speaks english. It is discouraging to people when they can not understand them.

You call, you wait. You wait, you are deceived into thinking you will be rewarded with competence on the other end. no siree bob. you use comcast chat. same. The guy on the phone has no verbal command of english. The guy on the chat has no written capacity. Sorry. Is there anyone out there capable of writing a cable bill that will genuinely deliver competition? Their answer: well your box musta stopped werkin' let's make an appointment to have someone out there. Can't ya just leave a box on my porch? Nope. I think this is a ploy from the mccain campaign to keep me from watching gov palin debate Thursday night.
