I am writing to issue a formal demand for immediate investigation and corrective action regarding the zinc-containing Fixodent All Day Hold Denture Adhesive provided to me through the VA Dental System. I am a 59-year-old retired U.S. Army Instructor, a chef who lives a clean, farm-to-table lifestyle, and I am currently undergoing dental reconstruction involving extractions and preparation for full implants.

In mid-2025, I was prescribed and given Fixodent All Day Hold (the zinc-containing formula) as part of my post-extraction care to secure temporary dentures.

1. Product Ingredients & Known Health Risks

Your product contains the following ingredients:
Calcium, Zinc PMV, Petrolatum, Cellulose Gum, Silica, Red 27 Lake.

Zinc toxicity and chronic zinc exposure are associated with documented serious health risks, including:

Neurological symptoms (numbness, tingling, neuropathy)
Anemia
Gastrointestinal distress
Weakened immune function
Headaches
Long-term nervous system complications

These risks have been thoroughly recorded in medical and toxicology studies. Procter & Gamble has been aware of these dangers for years — evidenced by your decision to create and sell a zinc-free formulation.

2. Negligence in Continuing to Sell a Known Hazardous Product

Despite your knowledge of zinc toxicity and its clear neurological risks, Procter & Gamble:

Continued to sell the original zinc-containing formula,
Marketed it to national medical systems including the VA,
Maintained inadequate and vague warnings instead of removing the dangerous product altogether,
Failed to notify the VA or patients that safer alternatives existed.

This is a failure of duty of care, product safety, and consumer protection.

3. Impact on My Health

Since using Fixodent All Day Hold, I have experienced symptoms consistent with chronic zinc overexposure, including:

Neurological abnormalities
Numbness and nerve sensitivity
Loss of sensation
Fatigue and immune dysfunction

These symptoms occurred ONLY after using your zinc-containing adhesive for several months during 2025 and early 2026.

I am undergoing medical evaluation for potential zinc neuropathy, copper deficiency, and related conditions.

4. Procter & Gamble’s Liability

Given the severe health implications, your prior knowledge, and your decision not to withdraw the unsafe formula from medical circulation — while simultaneously selling a zinc-free version — Procter & Gamble is exposed to liability for:

Product negligence
Failure to warn
Manufacturing and design defects
Personal injury damages
Long-term neurological harm
5. Demands

I am formally demanding the following:

A complete internal investigation into the zinc-based Fixodent formula and its continued distribution to federal healthcare systems.
Full disclosure of all internal studies, toxicology reports, risk assessments, and communication regarding the zinc-containing Fixodent formula.
Written confirmation whether Procter & Gamble alerted the VA Dental System to the documented neurological risks.
Immediate removal of remaining zinc-containing Fixodent products from VA distribution channels.
Financial compensation for medical evaluations, neurological testing, treatment, long-term monitoring, and all resulting damages tied to zinc exposure.
Preservation of all evidence relating to Fixodent formulation, safety testing, ingredients, internal memos, and risk reviews. This letter serves as official notice.
