Priceline.com Bait and Switch

The following is the experience I had with Priceline recently:

I was pleased that I could change my flight time with United Airlines; according to United Airlines I owed a balance of $0.00 with the change. UA then notified me that I needed to complete the change through Priceline. Priceline then charged me $613.00 for the new ticket. According to my attorney, this is an illegal practice known as "bait and switch"...the change in flight was advertised as "no cost" through the airlines, then once I made the change I was stuck for the additional cost through Priceline. I needed to have an earlier flight in order to fulfill certain obligations that I could not change. I will never use Priceline again. Like I said, what was done is illegal.

Priceline.com Couldn't pick up off site car rental or contact the car agency

Did a flight, hotel, and car rental through Priceline. When I landed in Orlando I went to pick up the car but was unable to locate the car rental company. I asked around and nobody had even heard of the company. I looked up the car contact information provided by Priceline, which was only a phone number.

I called the car company and got a message that the phone line was to busy and a faster response would be by email. So I emailed the car company using the email address provided by the message.

While I was waiting for a response I called Priceline who provided an address that I had to go to for car pickup. Priceline couldn't tell me how I was suppose to get there. They then called the car company and the got the same message I did. I then asked for a refund for the car rental since there wasn't a way to pick up the car or even talk to the car company. Priceline said they would find out if I could get a refund and said it would take up to 5 business days. It's been 9 business days and I've heard nothing.

I finally received a response from the email I sent to the car company. Only problem was that it was almost 24 hours later.

The car company said that they couldn't give me a refund unless Priceline requested it.

I made every reasonable effort to pick up the car and was unable to, through no fault of my own. Therefore, I demand a refund.

i wanted to change the flight from 6.28 PM to 8.00 AM, originally I was told by associate that I need to pay 48 dollar to change , however as i went to get my credit card , when i returned to read the credit number (less than 2 min i was told that that price is not available i have to pay additional 120 for the first reservation and additional 26 $ for the 2nd reservation.

i have been using price line for as long as it s been there never experience this .

Desired outcome: i would like to be reimbursed for the $ 145 and additional $ 75 that i will be paying for the seats

Priceline.com Priceline unable to change dates to reservation

I'm very disappointed and frustrated with Priceline. My child is moving back to NY, and on 8/8, their landlord stated their apt was available on 8/17; therefore, I made reservations and booked a car. Today they were notified their apt won't be available until 8/24. I was already charged $333 for a car rental on 8/17, and when I tried to change the date to 1 week later, I was told there is nothing anyone can do, it was non-refundable, and I will lose my money. I did not ask for this, I'm not canceling the reservation, nor am I changing the vehicle type, location pick-up time, or location; I'm simply asking to change to 1 week later. So parents with college kids or people on business do not use this company to book cars and stand a chance of losing money for unexpected changes. I bought car insurance when I booked it. Unbelievable, we are in the 21st century, and it's impossible for Priceline to change a date in their systems. The last manager I spoke to was Shamadi L. in Columbia. Really, no one can change the date in the system, and I'm just out $333? Who thinks this is acceptable? Trip# [protected]

Priceline.com Priceline travel

I purchased a flight Sept 2021 and had to cancel. I have a credit that I have been trying to rebook. I have literally spent over 5 hours in one day trying to speak to an actual live person. Your system doesn't recognize the trip number, phone, number nor email address associated with my purchase. I have attempted your online chat, your social media and each time, the automated system disconnects me or tells me I have to reach out to your flight support team (an automated system) which I had already contacted and could not advance because of reasons already forementioned. American Airlines is unable to rebook because this is a wholesale ticket through priceline so AA is unable to determine my credit amount. My trip number is [protected]. The email address and phone number associated with the purchase is [protected]@yahoo.com [protected] (which your automated system doesn't recognize) so it disconnects me.

Desired outcome: I would like to apply my credit to upcoming travel before the expiration date or I would like a full refund. I would like to be contacted telephonically by a live person to resolve this.

Priceline.com Duplicate airline ticket sales for same passenger on same itinerary-no resolution

Unknown to each of us, my wife and I each bought airline tickets for our son to return home on a school break. Priceline claimed that, even though two seperate tickets were sold for the same trraveler on the same flights and the dates, airline rules did not allow Priceline to refund or credit back to us the amount of the ticket or any other amount and that the entire amount was effectively forfeited. When asked, the airline, American Airlines, which owns the seat, refused to discontinue either of the two seat sales, stating that we would have to deal with the reseller about the purchase of the ticket and not American Airlines, even though when asked, who owns the seat, American Airlines responded that it owned the seat; apparently Priceline owned the right to sell the seat owned by American Airlines. Consequently Priceline had to agree on resolving this obvious error and duplicate sale of the same seat for American Airlines.

The FAA will be contacted regarding rights of buyers of airlines tickets who have been sold the same passage twice via air for the same person on the same itinerary. Priceline's firm position was that it will keep the total amount paid for the reservation claiming that airline rules prohibit return to the purchaser of the amount of one of the two itineraries paid for. They made the sale and that was final, whether there were two paid itineraries or one paid intinerary. Priceline would keep payment made regardless of the double payment made for the same person/itinerary.

I do not know how legally this will play out. However unless Priceline timely responds as an ethical business which keeps its customers interests in the forefront of its thinking, as well as its own to make an honest profit, which this experience clearly puts into question, I suggest that all airline travelling customers need to consider how they are seen, as potential pawns to be manipulated and abused by Priceline which recoginzes its own greed first and perhaps service to customers somewhere down the line.

Priceline.com Car rentals

I have used priceline many times for car rentals. I see you no longer have cars available at Fort Lauderdale Airport You are now required to take a shuttle to most rental locations. Many of the best deals require 1 to 2 shuttles and as a woman travelling alone this is not very convenient. I am a VIP customer and I am upset that I am now being forced to use other travelling sites for the convenience and the price

Priceline.com Car Rental

I rented a car through Priceline at Denver Intl Airport, through Fox Car Rental. The cost for me was $326.51. My flight arrived into Denver at 11:04 and I was waiting for a shuttle to the car rental by 11:25. The car rental shuttle never arrived so I was forced to rent a car through Avis for $140 more than I spent. Sadly, I didn't get out of the airport until 3:00 A.M. (5 AM New Jersey time!) After many complaints, I finally got Fox to offer a refund. For the inconvenience, and for the ineptness of Priceline, I desire the differential amount or a voucher for at least the differential amount. Please note that I have been a Priceline customer for approximately 25 years+ and I plan on becoming an Expedia customer if this is not resolved to my satisfaction.

Priceline.com Hotel Reservation

Reservation at Ramada Hotel West Hollywood California

In 7/26 out 7/27

Bed was broken in original room, offered one other room that was not qualified for someone with a bad knee, loft bedroom. Wasn't given another option by Ramada front desk.

Second room was a 2 star at best, broken lights, airconditioner flooded bed, phone didn't work, vinyl missing from around all sinks, broken trim, flooring pealing up etc;

Desired outcome: Full refund of monies paid $280 plus $47 parking

Priceline.com car rental

I am traveling to Dallas to visit a friend who is battling cancer. I was scheduled to arrive on August 9th. He informed me this past weekend, the doctors unexpectedly informed him they want to perform a battery of tests on him the week I was supposed to arrive.

I called Priceline to change my reservation date to August 24th. I was told I could not change the date thereby losing the $200 for the car reservation.

I was told Priceline has no policy for mitigating circumstances and that I have lost my money, which Priceline has essentially taken from me.

Do I really have no recourse?

Desired outcome: I would like my reservation to be changed to the new date.

Priceline.com Hotel booking priceline

Booked a room on 7/31 for one night and while it was only a 2.5 star hotel the review was 8.3. I When I went to check in, the room type I booked (2 double beds) was not available even though that’s what my confirmation said. The hotel was disgusting and smelled ofmold. We arrived at 2 in the morning and drug activity was going on in the parking lot

Desired outcome: I want a refund. I chatted and called and was told “sorry we can’t do anything” I stayed 40 minutes and took my kids and left. I was so scared for our safety

Priceline.com Flight change due to visa delays outside of passenger's control

Hello, I booked a return flight on priceline.com for my father on 22nd July 2022. The Flight is to the US travelling on 15th September, 2022 and the passenger requires a Visa for entry into the US. Unfortunately due to Covid backlog, we were only given a visa appointment for 22nd September,2022. There is no available visa appointment earlier.

I contacted Priceline on 31st July 2022 to advise of the issue and to shift my date till after the visa appointment and was told that I would have to pay for the change a price that is double the fare price of the original ticket. I was also advised to contact the airline directly to see if I could change the outbound flight but they say the flights are locked by the Travel Agent Priceline.

The flight change rules state that I need to find a flight and then call priceline to arrange a flight change but the price they are giving me is different from the airline flight as well as the flight on their website.

This is very unreasonable considering that the flight change is for an administrative reason that is outside our control. I do not wish to cancel I just want to push the date by two weeks. Please can someone assist me.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate an approval to change my flight at the policy of the airline. The Airline is offering the change at no cost because they have an available flight in the same class for that price.

Priceline.com Hotel location information false/misleading

I booked Ibis Styles Parc Des Expositions De Villepinte Jul 29 – Jul 30

On the website, the map location shown was inside the hotel Charles De Gaulle. However the hotel is 13km away.

My husband arrived exhausted, and the hotel was not where the website had indicated.

Priceline.com Refund of 685.59 to my paypal acct

On 7/16/2022 there was a purchase made under priceline for hotel:

Holiday inn resort port aransas that was made by mistake.

When the paypal pymt was picked, it booked the hotel for the dates I did not want or put in the system. Within minutes of realizing this, I called priceline and told them it was an error and told it would get refunded.

I called several more times up to 4 now and every time they say it will be refunded and yet to date has not.

I was charged about $800 for this booking.

They stated there was a glitch and will take time, I called again and spoke to the manager, who agreed and confirmed I will get refund and still not done.

I called again today to check on this and now they said will have to wait due to hotel and have to wait again, I was on the phone for an hour today and still has not been resolved.

Priceline.com Unauthorized payment

Good morning,

My name is Marie Nirva Jourdan. I booked a flight for 8 people with agent name Troy from Miami to Punta Cana on July 6, for the 24 to 28. The reservation was incorrect, and he told me I was going to get full refund for my reservation the next day. He even asked me for my card information for the refund. Since I never received it. I called customer service and I spoke with a supervisor to ask about the refund and the agent stated I will have to speak with agent Troy, but he never calls me back. It has been weeks and I have not received the money back.

My confirmation numbers are: UHY7FX and IGB7TK. Priceline confirmation is P4FD559.

I need to file a claim to have my refund of $6,137.36.

Priceline.com Wrong flights booked by them

Priceline put me on 2 round trip flights that I did not select, I paid for seat selection. When I got my email I noticed the wrong flight times, frontier was kind enough to change them to my actual selected times at a ridiculous fee of course. Next they told me I would have to pay again for seat selection. NO, I already paid for them so they made me call Priceline. The jerk I spoke to basically called me a liar and said they would not refund me or get my seats assigned for the corrected flights. Will never use these guys again, extremely poor customer service.

Desired outcome: I would like mybseats assigned at no cost to me since you put me on the incorrect flights in the first place.

Priceline.com Airline ticket

I made reservations for airline tickets in April, 2022. I made changes in the booking within 24 hours. My Visa credit card was charged but since it was a larger than usual, the charge was declined. I called Priceline to cancel the flight altogether and booked a different date. I also cancelled the Visa card payment, then used a master card. Priceline collected payment for the initial booking and also charged the second booking for two tickets. Priceline said that I did not cancel within 24 hours. They resubmitted the charge that was previously declined, then collected on the second booking as well that was charged on the Mastercard. I called to complain but Priceline instructed me to call Spirit Airlines. Spirit Airline instructed me to wait 14 business days before the money will be refunded. I never received the refund. After 3 weeks, I got in touch again with Priceline, who in turn, told me to speak to a Spirit Airlines representative. Spirit Airlines then told me to talk to Priceline. When I did not budge, the representative put me on a 20 minute hold, before she hang up. Please save your self the heartache and avoid stress. Do not patronize these two companies. If you have to use them, tell them that you are recording the transaction for your protection. Include the date, time, person. Make sure to get the approval of the other party.

Desired outcome: Avoid business with these two companies or protect yourself from scrupulous practices

Priceline.com hotel reservation Priceline Trip Number: [protected]

We made a reservation July 13 for Kantarrana Casa de Campo, 3 Night(s), 1 Room(s) for July 21, 22, 23 (checking out July 24) on Priceline. We paid with a Visa. There was no upfront notice that we would have to pay cash at the hotel or that we will have to pay a 5% surcharge if we pay with our credit card. We have been sent emails that the hotel wants us to do a cash transfer from our bank to theirs or through What's App. This is a scam. Priceline is charging us to make a reservation that is not a reservation. We could have made it directly with the hotel for less if Priceline was not going to pay the hotel using our credit card and if we needed to pay cash or an extra 5% to use a credit card at the hotel.

We could have made the reservation on another service and paid with our credit card without this hassle.

Desired outcome: Priceline pays the hotel the price they quoted us using the card they accepted for the reservation without any surcharge for using a credit card.

Priceline.com Purchased a ticket to France in emergency situation never got the ticket but was charge.

I purchased a priceline ticket for family emergency july 10th to fly to France, and hour later I couldn't find my ticket. Called and called and was sent to several people and they couldnt find the ticket. Money was also not taken out. So I felt safe to buy ticket somewhere else. Well today looked at the bank account and Priceline took 2500 plus 94 dollars.
