Planet Fitness Terms of membership

I signed up with the black card membership and it includes a guest. I have been going for a few weeks with my guest using all the extra services like massage chairs with my guest. I go today and was told that my guest isnt allowed to use the massage chairs? Ok I said but the employee that signed us up said absolutely go ahead.

Your advertisement there clearly states all the details of what is included in the black card membership below was on the table at biz. It does not state specifically what the guest can and cannot use.? I have a picture of it.

When I questioned this to the local Manager Lola she said its in your contract that anything the employee says is cancelled the minute I signed the contract. Really? Lola said I will let you 2 use it this time but not in the future. Well, ok so we go to use the chairs and they are broken...they were broken also when I first joined? If I have black card membership and the chairs are always broken or out of service? And I cant have my guest use them now what?

Please let me know how you can help this be resolved ASAP

Desired outcome: What was promised when I signed up! My guest to use the extras Maintain and repair of the massage chairsManager Lola to accommodate me without a hassle.

Planet Fitness Certified fitness instructor in moses lake

I joined Planet Fitness in Moses Lake a couple of months ago. I love your facilities and I was really excited to work with a certified fitness instructor but was disappointed to hear you do not have a certified fitness instructor for your gym in Moses Lake.

Do you plan to get a certified fitness instructor soon? If not, have you considered developing and training from within? I go to your gym several times a week and I noticed one of your employees (Anita) is highly knowledgeable about gym equipment and very personable. In fact, Anita has trained for bodybuilding competitions.

I spoke to Anita and asked her what was holding her back from being a trainer and she said it was the cost.

I would like to take the opportunity and ask you to invest in Anita as a certified fitness instructor for your Planet Fitness program in Moses Lake.

This would be a win/win in the development and growth of your employee and much-needed service for newbies.

Planet Fitness Cleanliness at the facility

The facility is nasty; no paper towels, the toilet at first opening feces in commode, floors not mopped and clean with trash from the day before, all of these conditions have occurred in the last two months at this facility 6231 Perimeter Dr#217 Chattanooga TN 37421. I really can’t wait until my 65th birthday I am gonna join the YMCA. No one cares about cleanliness anymore at this facility the standards have fallen way below sanitary!

Desired outcome: Clean and sanitize the facility and adequate paper towels, clean and fix commodes and showers. Establish a cleaning regiment for the facility.

Planet Fitness Employee at Costa Mesa location

Dear Management,

I’ve been thinking of writing a complaint for some time now in regards to an employee of Planet Fitness. Her name is Sarah and she works the late night shift. She on numerous occasions seems to be “odd”. I’ve observed her doing strange things. An example would be sitting in the bathroom stall for a very long duration continuously flushing the toilet when the showers were running. Another incident she was outside on the bench and was spitting up on the ground and most recently she started to vacuums and she will vacume the same spot for some time. She almost tripped me on the treadmill when the extension cord was wrapping around my feet. I’m sorry to say this but it almost felt bad if she did that intentionally. I am more than happy to speak to anyone in regards to this if you have questions.

On February 19th, 2023 I noticed a charge of $15 from Planet Fitness that was unusual since I had just joined the club in January and it is supposed to be $10 a month which I was also charged. I called on February 19th and spoke to one of their employees who said that it was a late charge that must have been a mistake and that the manager would call me back...

Planet Fitness Opelousas, La

Broken equipment not being repaired or replaced. This place is falling apart. Machines have been out of order for months at a time and there is no point at which they seem to come back in service. Used pads on equipment that aren’t repaired become the perfect breeding grounds for staph. Handles cracked and broken in tanning beds. Pos system broken or down and cannot purchase products. Equipment removed altogether and not replaced.

Planet Fitness Management and staff issues and overall customer service

My complaint starts on November 8th of 2022 I am a regular at this particular gym in NH and I was getting ready for my last cardio machine which is the treadmill when the speed button got stuck somehow and it just kept rising as far as.96 speed. I ultimately fell off the treadmill because it malfunctioned. I tried to put my feed on the side of the treadmill but didn't work and I feel backwards into the fence and that fence pushed me forward onto my stomach and my chin hit the bottom of the treadmill. I was pretty close to the customer service desk, so I was pretty shocked that not one employee came to help me. I had a few customers who helped me but that was about it. After I got my composer, I went to the desk to file a complaint/accident report and too much of my surprise they don't do anything like that! The staff member just jotted my number down and said that the manager will be in touch with me. I wrote exactly what happened to me and I handed it to the worker. I then left very sore and very discouraged over the fact that the staff was not concerned at all and felt that my concerns were not met. I then went to the urgent care the next morning due to bad bruising on my arms and legs and my lower back. I need to make sure nothing was broken. I then proceeded to go back to the gym to speak with the manager as he wasn't there the night before. I had to wait for him to come out of a meeting and I then explained to him what happened exactly happened the night before. Manager was very upset with me, and I was very confused because I was the member who got very hurt and felt he should be showing concern instead of anger. I will let everyone know what happened to me at planet fitness and what they didn't do for me after this malfunction. I'm so disappointed in this company in general even the claims department hasn't been very good it's been over 4 months and I'm not even close to knowing the outcome of this claim. Very bad Gym I will give my money to a new Gym that cares about their members well-being. I have all documentation of what happened to me, and I will give it to anyone who wants to listen to me.

Planet Fitness Filthy and broken machines

I made a complaint to PF in Plantation, FL about how filthy the gym was and the 5-6 broken machines. All but one of the machines were quickly repaired. Some cleaning was done but now reverted back to not cleaning. Machines are still filthy with dust and dirt. Staff socialize around the front desk while cleaning stations don’t have sanitizer or towels.

Desired outcome: Keep floors, bathrooms & machines clean. Repair machines within 1-2 weeks. Check cleaning stations on a regular basis. Have 2 bottles of sanitizer at each station in case it disappears. Staff should stop congregating around the front desk.

Planet Fitness Staff at planet fitness Niles Ohio

On 3-8-23 on or around 2:45 I was exiting the tanning booths and was approached by a friendly pf team member that I’ve talked to many times in her short career there.

Ya see I’ve been going to Pf since before the original Nile’s pf was finished, took a break and went back at it still at pf.

Anyway I was approached by her and she said

“You can’t have this in here” and pointed at my concealed firearm bc she seen me with my shirt unbuttoned in the tanning room. I don’t shut the door till I’m ready to get naked.

THEN this pipsquike came over to give her back up or something, he just stood there with his hands behind his back like a hard a$$.

I felt enalianated (or however you spell it) then it was as if he was walking me out like a harda$$.

ITS 2023 PROP 215 HAS BEEN PASSED IN OHIO.

EVERYONE SHOULD CARRY THAT IS ALLOWED..!

I bet when the next mass shooting goes down you will be glad you are beside me.

And maybe [censored]es wouldn’t go in and shoot up a place if they thought..

“”Hmmm somebody might be armed in there, let’s think twice about this””

Get used to guns…!

If you’re a good person there your friend.

As I said it’s 2023…you have no

“no firearms” sign on your window.

And some people follow the law..

And Ohio law states that the firearm needs to be in a locked compartment in a locked car..

Or improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle if it’s just in a locked car.

And I’m not catching a charge because somebody was butthurt.

I’ve carried every time I’ve been at planet fitness, it’s just getting warmer out and I’m wearing less clothes and I had my shoulder holster on.

Nothing has happened except pf had some extra protection on a mass shooting.

I’ve been going to Pf for over 10 years and I do not want to have to change what I do and wear everyday to appease somebody else.

And quite frankly I refuse..

10 year member…….

I get some pull here.

That is we’re my firearm is located.

Planet Fitness Air Quality

This is in regard to the Lexington SC location. After several days of no A/C it was explained to me today that the A/C problem had been fixed over the weekend and the current indoor temperature is no registering at 69 degrees. All things being equal that would put the locker room temperature at approx. 59 degrees given the desparity that existed last week. SOMEONE needs to check out this entire system as to it's efficacy or risk losing memberships under the current conditions.

Desired outcome: Review and fix the intolerable A/C

I signed up for membership in late december,2023 and was told that I would be charged a signup fee, then $10 per month. I said Great, I offered to just pay the annual up front, and they said that was not an option. You would think that that would be a sensible option as a business to have customers prepay, but maybe thats just me. Anyway, I fill out the form, and noticed that they required two methods of payment. I was very suspicious, but anyway, I provided my credit card, and bank account details.

Every month since then, I have been charged the monthly fee, $10 and a late fee $15. This basically makes my monthly fee 25$ per month. I have sent multiple emails requesting a resolution, and they tell me that I have incorrectly entered my bank info. I then say, Hypothetically, lets go with that, so why then not just charge the credit card immediately if that one fails? She said well they try a few days later. This "a few days later" Is to ensure that you become late, so they can "legitimately" claim that you were late.

I verified the banking info, and used a different BOA routing number, the following month, and they still illigitimately bill me again.

I truly enjoy working out, but if you can bill me a late fee with no issues, why not then make that the primary method of payment?

When I go to discuss the issue with someone in the gym, twice i was told to send an email with my concerns. The email decatur.[protected]@planetfitness.com may go unanswered for weeks.

Management is a joke, If they respond, their response is basically after reviewing , everything looks fine. This is very infuriating.

Desired outcome: I dont even care for a refund. Just let me pay one time up front for the year, or stop the late fee scam.

Planet Fitness Employees allowing friends and family sleep in black club area. Totally unprofessional to allow your mom to sleep on waterbed loungers.

It happens daily employees letting friends and family use abuse black card area. I pay for the privilege how about telling them it’s against policy? check your cameras the lady in question had two bags of groceries and street clothes on. obviously it was the employees mom as she called her mommy. totally unprofessional. check the cameras the lady went right to another chair in the black card area and went back to sleep lol. there was also a motorized vehicle parked in the same area. wow just wow terrible that management would allow this.

Planet Fitness Healthclub

I've been going to Plabet Fitness for about 7-8 years. It has allowed me to travel & still keep up with fitness. I was in an auto accident & injured last year now just working on rehab. They have been a pretty good club except for the harassment from their employees & their using of chemical sprays when I'm in the dressing or showers. These chemicals make me dizzy & nauseated. I've talked to management repeatedly to no avail. The Arlington Rd in Arlington VA is the worst. The minute I'm in the restroom employees follow & grab cleaning cart with sprays. Eric Pieorola is the worst manager does not care about numbers or any complaints. His response to my last complaint was to ban me from his club stating I was harassing employees. One of his employees sprayed a chemical that made me dizzy on contact. When I asked her if what she sprayed she walked away...then she said she didnt...then she said it was someone else. Eventually she came back & said ishower cleaner but looking in the showers there was a white clump on the wall with hair, a black ball of something on floor...pretty sure she hadn't cleaned. This club is OK for being clean. But the attitudes the gossip & the comments placed in the shared data base about me as well as other members is outrageous & a violation of FCRA rules. The chemicals used also have warnings on them stating burning of skin, possible blindness etc I took photo. I repeatedly asked them not to clean before I shower. They don't rinse chemicals off...it's dangerous. Eric has a gang mentality caring about money aspect of club. Their no judgment free zone doesn't work at this location he's a mean person. I have been followed had questions about whether they have cameras in their restrooms. For the price most clubs are good...been cross country. Not the Arlington location. Slanderous, damaging, uncomfortable.

Planet Fitness Why only about half of the tvs in the Kennett Square facility are working for the last few months.

I'm a member of the Kennett Square, PA Planet Fitness and roughly about half of the tvs are not working for the past few months. Every time I inquire about it, the staff says that they are in the process of getting some more and that they can't get a contract for someone to fix them. If you happen to work out on the one side of the gym where most of the treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and stairmasters are located, this section only has 1 working tv.

Desired outcome: I would like the tvs to work.

I am a 67 year-old disabled veteran who stopped in at your Bakersfield (California Ave), California facility on the morning of February 4th. I explained that I was on my way to Palo Alto for the next 4 weeks and that I would be traveling throughout the country teaching for most of the year. I saw President Rondeau on Mad Money with Jim Cramer and explained to the individual at the Planet Fitness desk that I was possibly interested in joining Planet Fitness due to availability throughout the country. I was told, not once but twice, that my membership was good throughout the United States. Lo and behold, I was denied entrance to the Planet Fitness in Milpitas on Ranch Drive. The individual at the Planet Fitness desk in Milpitas stated that my membership was only good in Bakersfield, a city I have only spent one night in while traveling. The individual who signed me up in Bakersfield needs some better training.

Please explain to me my options. I have no plans of ever being in Bakersfield again.

Desired outcome: As I told the person that stole more than a week's worth of fitness from me, and now you've stolen another two week's of fitness from me, I want a membership that is good throughout the U.S. for eleven months.

Planet Fitness Unsafe guests - no protocol

On 2/24 starting at about 9:40am, at the West Dundee location there was a verbally aggressive man who was getting into multiple people faces & yelling at them. He even approached a woman, who happened to be a Navy personnel & told her “you are a piece of sh** little girl”. As someone with PTSD triggered by violent men, I had a panic attack for 30+ minutes at the gym. The manager on duty said there’s nothing he can do because he doesn’t know the guys name to send him an email. Even though the guy was within eye sight of him where he could have asked him. But he said since he did not physically hurt anyone there’s nothing he can do. The man was lapping around the gym trying to intimidate people. He was a large man and visually intimidating. Multiple people expressed their concern about this man. I ended up having to leave, where I drove to another parking lot because I was hyperventilating. Planet fitness it supposed to be a safe zone. You have signs that say it I guys where’s an inappropriate tank top the alarm will go off but you can’t ask someone to leave or call the cops when he’s threatening people? I’ve never felt so unsafe in a gym & before that I loved going there. As a woman (& 2 other women that came forward), I was afraid. I am so upset and let down by your gyms inability to follow through on your “safe zone” policy.

If you check the camera you will see this man targeting multiple people & pacing around the gym in an intimidating manner.

I’m extremely upset, I think there needs to be a specific course of action that takes place in these scenarios.

Planet Fitness My black card membership

My black card access is worn and the keyhole is split open so I can’t put it on my keychain. I have to put in my pocket when going to my club in Saint Augustine, Florida. Hopefully I won’t lose it. Asked the agent behind the counter if I could get a replacement and he we don’t do that here and brushed me off. My name is Michael Providence. Number on my black card is. [protected]. Hi there, I work at a Planet Fitness in Vancouver, WA and hope I can help in some way. If I'm correct, every franchise works with the Planet Fitness App offered in the Apple store and Google Play store. It's called "Planet Fitness Workouts". You should download that and create an account and use the same email you used to sign up with. If you're unsure of that email you can always ask the front desk and they can tell you what email they have on file. Doing this should sync up your account in the system to your account on the app. If it doesn't sync up, the front desk can sync it up for you by providing you your keytag number. If you still have your physical keytag the number that appears on it would be the keytag they would be providing you so you may not even have to ask them if you still have that physical one. Now if it didn't sync up when you go to log in after you created your account it will bring up a screen that says join and underneath that it'll say already a member. Click already a member and then it'll ask you for your email, your birthdate, and your zip code. Both the email and zip code must be the one that they have on file for you in order for it to manually sync you up. Once everything is synced up and you log into your account the main menu will have an area that says "check in" and that's what you'll click onband scan that barcode every time you check into your location. When COVID hit this was their solution to hands free checking in so I'm sure your location uses it like mine does. Hope this helped. Sorry it was so long..

Planet Fitness 30-minute express circuit and hydro beds

I contacted the manager, Camile, @ the Hazleton, PA club on 2/20 to complain that the 30-min circuit is not, and has not been, monitored and used as designed. People just hang on out 1 machine, go on their phone, and just sit there constantly. I told her my friends & I come daily @ 4:30. She said she would check into it. That same day I went & again, everyone just sitting on the equipment, not rotating - 6 machines with people just sitting there. Your policy clearly states" PF does not set time limits on any piece of equipment WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE 30-MIN EXPRESS CIRCUIT. I called Camile again 2/21 & asked for a district manager or boss and she would not give me that information. She was clearly there 2/20 at 5:00 and did not even come back once to check on the room.co-workers of mine are also complaining that room is not being used as it is intended. I've been a member since DAY ONE and can count on my one hand how many times I've completed the circuit. I also asked Camile to monitor the hydro beds because her staff is always behind. Every Thursday for the last 4-weeks, when I clock in for a 5:00 appt, they are running 6-7 minutes behind - on a 10-min bed. They should loose their slot if they are not on time.

Desired outcome: The 30-minute circuit room is used ONLY for people who want to do the circuit. They should not be allowed in the room if they don't want to do the circuit...simple! Staff needs to be on the floor - not all 4 behind the desk

I went to the Compton, CA, Gym (PF) yesterday 2/17/23. After my work-out, I took a shower. The shower was so hot I couldn't stand in it. It burned me and it was as cold. I stood there for some time to the side to allow the water to cool off, it never did. I turned the nozzle to hot, which felt better than cold but it was still very hot. No matter which way...
