I was required to have a medically required piece of equipment (GMD) that Medicare Part D would have covered. QptumRX said it wasn't covered under my supplement plan and charged me $637.68 for 4 sensors. Now they will not reprocess and give me a refund minus a 20% deductible. Worse customer service and company ever!.
As I tried unsuccessful to explain it has nothing to do with my supplement plan, it has to do with OptumRX not billing Medicare Part B. Yes, really it's that simple.
Claimed loss: $637.68
Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed my $637.68 minus the 20% deductible as soon as possible so I'm not paying interest on moneys I should not have had to pay in the first place on my credit card.

After months of phone calls and emails starting in Jan, OptumRx finally reimbursed me 80% for the cost of the required medical devices. While grateful for that, the hours vested and wasted exceeded the amount as well as the interest charged on my credit card.
In closing, select any other provider other than United Health Care/Optum Rx. They are the worse I have every had the misery of dealing with. Unprofessional disingenuous and condescending customer service who can't comprehend simple English or listen to facts.
While told numinous times there was nothing they could do, they eventually refunded me 80% of the cost, so do not fall for that line of dishonesty, there is nothing they can do!
There is a huge difference between can't and won't.
