Return and refund scam
I purchased 2 couches online on 7 Aug 2023 & called Customer Care just after my order to request that delay delivery until 1 Sept because I was moving to a new house & wanted the items to be delivered to the new house, the agent said it will be no problem & she will submit the request. On 16 Aug I received email confirmation that my delivery will be delayed as per my request on 1 Sept, on the same day I received an email that my order has been dispatched. I called the Customer Care again & they said they will sort it out. On 17 Aug they delivered the couches to the new address, I organised that they bring it to my current address. I unwrapped the couches on 1 Sept at the new house. From the beginning the couches didn't work properly & in the first week the thin wooden frame broke, there's now a hole in the couch. I logged a return/refund on 9 Sept & I follow up everyday and everyday they have the same excuse. Today is the 20th Sept. Their return policy is 2-5 working days. It's easy to take my money and ignore my requests but to collect the items & refund my money are being ignored completely.
Desired outcome: I want Makro to collect the couches and give my money back

I bought some items on the 27th of July and some items were sold out therefore was due a refund till to date I have not received any refund. They have sent me several emails requesting for the same information which I have sent several times and then they reply promising they will process the refund. The call Center is incompetent as they are clueless and are of no help. Do yourself a favour and do not shop from Makro Online as you will regret it.

Was not able to do this - called againa nd on 11th they said they need to change the status of the order

I cam calling everyday and the call centre is of no use
I requested for a manager to call me - I was promised Busi Radebe will call me back yesterday and this will be resolved

On 23 August I ordered 4 items online from Makro.
The order was partially delivered a week later.
One item was delivered, I'm still waiting for 3, and it's now 17 September.
The order still say " in progress".
I've sent numerous emails to support, I've never received no reply.
I've tried 'chat' numerous times, and either the agent just disconnects the chat mid-chat after saying they'll investigate or they tell me someone will get in touch, which of course never happened.
I complained on Hello Peter, when finally someone contacted me, telling me the same thing...they'll investigate.
I never heard from them again, and all my emails are being ignored once again.
I complained to the complaint board before, I got no response.
I've emailed the head office, no response.
I've since ordered the same things from a different merchant and received my order in 3 days.
Now please tell me how a customer is supposed to trust a business like this again?
They took my money, and literally didn't deliver. Its pretty much theft.
Every Avenue of customer service i've tried has been completely useless, to the point where they don't even bither responding to you.
I spent R3860 on this order and only received one item.
What am I expected to do at this point?
I just want to cancel the order and get a refund.
How can this possibly be so hard?

Iphone 11
On the 20th of August, I ordered a purple IPhone 11 that cost R9999 on sale. The IPhone was not delivered and the order was canceled due to unavailability of stock. They didn't inform me I had to call and inquire about my order. On the 04th of September I called again and they said I should send my banking details for verification. I did that but till today "my refund is not yet approved by finance team, they escalated the matter" said the agent. My order number is MAK5011685.

I did not take heed whilst reading the reviews... How stupid of me. I bought an item when it arrived I was sorely disappointed in the quality and the assembled product. Dissatisfied I disassemble it and lodge a return request... Packed it back in its original packaging.30 emails later with the images they requested from me and couple of phone calls later still no resolution. Eventually did a live chat online... To my amazement makro is not my supplier but a 3rd party marketplace. Really makro you should stipulate this when people buy product from you online. It's such a fd up service. No wonder they don't have this at makro stores... Nobody in their right mind will purchase this product. People don't purchase through makro online... Beside time... Money thats waisted this company gives you anxiety aswell. I want you to collect the crap you sold me and I want my refund and my airtime waisted. Geez let alone my freaking time and energy. Still not getting anywhere with makro online. The messed up part is that the consultant don't have individual email, they all share 1 email address. Really unprofessional for such a big name makro. An airtime voucher
On the 25 August 2023 I bought two R50 recharge vouchers and one R150 voucher I then didn't use them immediately. I only recharged them on the 6 September 2023 of which the two R50 vouchers where recharged successfuly but the R150 one wouldn't. I then went back to the MAKRO VAAL branch where I bought the voucher and they refused to help and said there is nothing they can do. I then called Cellc customer and found out that the voucher was used and that Makro Vaal sold me a voucher that was used in May 2023,then I went back to the store and told one of the supervisors that where helping me and still they told me they can't help me. I am so disappointed in the service I received because I have been a loyal customer for many years and this was not the first time I bought airtime there...i would really appreciate the assisstance

Good Day. I made an order on 22 August. Message was received on 27th for collection. We went to Makro and they mentioned that the order is not available. On the 28th I went to Makro again and they told me that the item is out of stock, I should leave my address they will deliver when the stock is available. On the 29th message was received your order has been picked up. The same day I received a call from their courier guy that there are coming to deliver Microwave. | dint order microwave to start with, so I am so disappointed of their service and inefficiency of mixing orders like that. Bought from Makrononline onnthe 30th july 2023. Still have not received order on the 28th August 2023. Have phoned 10 times and emailed 6 times. Still being lied to . just think they tell you courier damaged goods 3 times . i requested a refund but doubt i will receive it. On the 2nd of August 2023, I cancelled my order and requested a refund but nothing has been done yet. Pineware 1.5 l Stainless Steel Kettle
On the 25 of June 2023, I ordered a kettle and iron, the kettle was not delivered, the order was cancelled due stock unavailable, firstly they don’t inform me. I had to call and inquire about my order. I am laying this complaint on the 23 Aug I haven’t received my refund. I called several times, complained into their social media account the issue is not resolved. My order number is MAK4711900.

Makro delivered my package as per order no.MAK4942132 to someone unknown in Benoni and fail to identify the receiver by name and contact number or ID and also fail to contact me via delivery as per my request. I have warned Makro [protected] & [protected] that I will contact Makro management if I don’t receive my item by Friday 2023-08-17. The incompetence and recklessness, have to be investigated, but I need my item now as I am losing out on time and work, due to my PC unable to function correctly without my item still missing.

Defy washing machine
I have logged a return within 3days after recieving the product. I called the call center to log the ticket and also logged it myself on their website.
I did not receive feedback from them after 5days and I called again. The agent told me he does not know what to do. He does not work in the relevent department. I asked him what is the relevant departments name and he said he does not know. I asked him for an email or tel number of this relevent department and he stated that he does not have that information but will escalate the matter.
It's been over a week now going into 2 weeks and have not received any feedback. I wanted a voucher back than but now I just want my money back. Their service is pathetic. Quick to deliver and non responsive when a customer delivers. It's like thieves. Fast to take your money.
Desired outcome: I would like my money back and for them to collect the washing machine
More 4 Less special - Midea 18kg top loader with mixer
I am STILL waiting for assistance with an online order (which the special has expired now). I have been in contact with Makro's call center and store numerous times and up to date I have received NO ASSISTANCE. The only time I did receive any kind of assistance - the wrong item was ordered. I have numerous reference numbers and promises of call backs and supervisors that will contact me but NOTHING.
With my last call 02/08 Ref 3780556 I was informed that the special is no longer available and thus I can not be assisted, I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told that the supervisor is busy and will call me back.
Ever Since the 1st call on the day of the email (20/07/202) up to date NO one at Makro was willing or capable to assist.
I requested a call from a manager yesterday via e-mail ([protected]@makro.co.za) and still waiting.
Desired outcome: To purchase the special as advertised.

I ordered this table on the 3rd of July, delivery of this has been a nightmare. The 1st piece was delivered on the 8th of July, only to find that this was the drawer only, nothing else. I went to the Strubensvalley Store on the 11th of July, to which I was redirected to this horrible portal. I then logged a request for refund on the 13th of July, and I have called the call centre a million times, they have promised feedback (to which none was recieved), I've requested to speak to a team leader (and I would just be put on hold for long ). The costs of calling the call centre are not even taken into consideration.
On the 1st of August, I get told that my refund request has been declined, like what the hell?
THE SERVICE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE, I WILL NEVER ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM MAKRO MARKETPLACE. COMMUNICATION FROM THE CONTACT CENTRE HAS BEEN APPALLING, ALL I WANT IS FOR THIS ITEM TO BE COLLECTED AND I GET MY MONEY BACK.

Online order that was incorrect
I ordered 16 packets of the blue comfort fabric softener and instead received a box of the white fabric softener, iv called 3 times now to have this matter resolved and still its not been collected and replaced.
Iv also had to go and buy the correct products as a result of the fault made by your store personnel.
Customer service is terrible.

Online order placed in March 2023 never received and no refund received!
I placed an online order on the 07th of March 2023 and have been following up ever since up until this very day the 31st July 2023 and I'm not getting any help. Instead each time I call the call centre to complain, the call is always followed by an email telling me that my issues has been escalated to the relevant department. When I'm quiet no one contacts me from Makro. All I want is my money back!
Counting the number of calls I made to Makro they are now worth more than the refund I am claiming. I tried calling the Makro Head Office but the call rings without an answer.
I have asked to speak to a supervisor but the staff continuously puts me on hold until the call gets cut off or explains that my issue will definitely be resolved but here I am writing this complaint!

Online poor service and false advertisement.
I have bought items online and ETA was scheduled for 2-5 days. Which is an absolute rubbish and pure false advertisemnt. Days came and went and my order was never delivered. I made numerous follow up via emails and phone calls with no luck. 1. You wait on call for a duration of an hour or so without answer. 2. Should they decide to answer the phone...
