To Macy’s and MAC:
It was not my intention to make my MAC purchases at the Macy’s
store (St. Louis Galleria Mall) at first; however, I decided to stop by there
after making a MAC purchase at ULTA beauty anyway.
I figured that the Macy’s make up artist may be more knowledgeable
and I would buy more products from their counter at the Galleria Mall.
This was my very first time wanting to make a huge purchase
because I have several events coming up and I was told the MAC makeup was the best by my coworker.
But when I walked into the Galleria MAC counter around 6:30
pm or so, there was no one there. I waited a few minutes, walked around the
other make up counters and I saw a black lady and a white lady at the Lancome counter. They didn’t offer to help me. I stood waiting; so I walked back to the MAC counter. Finally, a lady walked by in a coat. I asked if she works at the MAC counter, she said, yes but I’m leaving, the other lady is at the Lancome counter.
I walked back over to the Lancome counter and said to the
black lady are you to person that can help me at the MAC counter? Her response were these exact words, “Yall sure know where to FIND ME”! I was shocked. It would have been nice if she had said, “Yes, how can I assist you” but she was arrogant to me.
We began to walk towards the MAC counter but then I noticed
how she looked me up and down? I didn’t understand the gaze. So I said, I’m
sorry that I bothered you or “found you”; can someone else help me who doesn't mind “being found”.
The white lady offered to help me but stated that she was
getting ready to get off work as well and that she did not know how best to
pair the MAC products for my complexion. I was so hurt about it all and left. I
wanted to learn more about toners, concealers, blush and I needed brushes as well. May I ask that you speak with the black lady about blurting out unprofessional statements to customers who are seeking help to make purchases. Her behavior was unacceptable. Unfortunately, the
St. Louis Galleria Mall is the only mall close to where I live or else I would
have gone to another MAC counter somewhere.
