I have shopped at many LA-Z-BOY stores in Long Island, New York. I don't understand why people are complaining about not getting their way after a warranty expires. Warranties cannot last forever and nothing can last forever. I had my La-z-boy recliner and sofas for seven years and it still looks brand new. I have purchased bedroom furniture from Macy's that did not last more than two years. After my warranty expired my wood began to crack. Macy's did not come out to fix it because my warranty expired and I worked for them! Did I complain no my warranty expired! What do you expect. Stop complaining about delivery fees which have to be charged to run warehouses and pay the people that run them. You don't work for free and why should they? Stop trying to get something for nothing. If they gave everything away for the price you wanted sure you would be happy but they would be out of business and then you would complain about them no longer in business. Bottomline people when you brought that stainsafe warranty the salesperson told you to call within a certain time frame and stick to your story, but no you didn't listen. Now you want to complain about something you know you had fault in. Customer's are not so innocent and are not always right. I am a consumer and I overhear customer's complaining about things because it did not work for them. Then the customers that really deserve to complain are not heard because of the customers that don't admit fault.
Get a life and make only legitimate complaints! Delivery fees? Come on.

    I certainly wish that I had checked out La-Z-Boy before dealing with them. They lied about their "Ultra Shield" protection that was supposed to be added to my couch AT THE STORE, before it was delivered. I was shown how great the stuff is, and it was demonstrated to me as being "water repelant." Fact is, it's not. Also, it appears that La-Z-Boy Warranties are worthless as well. I am not very happy with this company. I doubt I ever step inside one of their stores ever again.

    Guess you haven't heard of the implied warranty of merchantability. There is a reasonable expectation that a high-end piece of furniture will last more than a couple of years. Even if the warranty has expired, the manufacturer should maintain cordial business dealings with the consumer in the interest of promoting further business down the road.

    In my state, if you buy a house, even though there is a two-year builder warranty, the house should long outlast that warranty. Bear in mind, Ms. Becky Sue, that a customer may still have some legal recourse against the manufacturer even though the warranty has lapsed.

    Speaking from my own personal experience with La-Z-Boy, fair business dealings and good customer service do not seem to rank very high on their priority list. Anyone planning to do business with La-Z-Boy should
    check with the Better Business Bureau in their locale before purchasing.

    Act in haste, repent in leisure. Been there, done that.

    Oh I forgot to mention that my furniture is 1 1/2 years old and the bottom cusions were replaced 3 months after I got them on all 3 pieces. About 4 months later the rocker recliner had to have the cushhions fixed again. I am not complaining about 7 yr old furniture!

    Gary here is a picture of my "great quality" furniture!

    Such great quality that the couch back doesn't even match up with the couch bottom and the left side of my love seat is barely connected to the bottom.

    I guess I just have really bad luck!

    I bought a "top of the line leather" chair and sofa, both with recliners from La-Z-Boy in May 2007. So far, there have been in excess of 6 service calls including 3 frame replacements. Now, they won't even come out without $125 to cover the service trip. The repairman says that the replacement frames give them more trouble than the originals did. Letters to corporate go unanswered. Check around the internet for additional customer service complaints----they are legendary! Not even the common courtesy of a reply. I work for a company that would never let a customer be ignored, even if we disagreed with them.

    Our leather recliner (a lazyboy) was my mother's...we got it when she passed. It's about five years old now and is basically as good as new. It's not the first leather recliner we've owned, but it's been the best in terms the quality of leather and how well it has withstood fairly heavy use. On the other hand, it was also the most expensive. If it breaks now, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't try to return it :)

    Didn't buy it at a LazyBoy store it a Leon's.

    I totally agree with you. People complain about everthing and making people that work hard look bad. I work for La-z-boy and they are the best quality you can honestly find. Someone complained about a chair breaking after 10 years ask Bob, or Macy's or Raymour and Flannigan's furniture if their's will last that long.
