Kmart Store 7488misleading advertisement

On 10/20/08 I went to Kmart to buy a kids trike that I saw in the add for that week. I got the trike plus other things and headed for the cashier. I handed the cashier the $10.00 coupon that was in the add on the kids page. Well, the cashier scanned the coupon and it wouldn't scan. He then asked the head cashier for assistance. Then the head cashier asked another cashier for assistance as well. They finally got it and said that it's only the items listed on the coupon is $10.00 off. I did say that the add was misleading because I didn't read the small prints saying items listed on coupon only, all you see is $10.00 off. So I took it as $10.00 off all the kids toys on that page, that's how I read it. The add should have been advertise alot better saying, "$10.00 COUIPON IS FOR ITEMS LISTED ON COUPON ONLY". Something that would have caught the customers attention if it was highlighted and bolded, maybe.

Well, I bought the trike anyway. The cashier told me to go to customer service and ask for Doug and explain to him how I felt because he thought it was misleading also. So I headed for customer service and asked the girl behind the counter to page for Doug and explained the reason to her. She also thought the same thing. So as I was waiting for Doug just to explain how I felt, this lady came up and talked to the girl behind the counter at customer service and said that it's only the items listed on the coupon. Just her tone of voice and not acknowledging me as I was standing right on her left side pissed me off. So I just dropped the coupon on the counter and told the girl that it's okay. As I walked away, I asked the girl behind the counter what's her name. She said, Mary. Mary then said, I'm Mary the Manager. I told her that she didn't know how to talk. She, Mary chuckled! I walked away and got something to eat at Little Ceasars and left the store after purchasing over $100.00 that I could have spent down the road at Wal-Mart and gotten more respect.

Mary the Manager should have approached me and introduced herself and listen to what I had to say before going off and talking to the girl behind the counter only as if I didn't exist. This Manager has no class of being a manager and has no people skills. Plus she needs help on her dress appearance. Being polite and having people skills can take the store a long way. But with people like Mary, the store is hurting.

Thanks for the complaint feedback section where we can let our feelings out. Hope this complaint can help the store here on the island of Maui grow larger. Of course I'll continue to shop at Kmart, but I won't be happy or please to see Mary there.
