I am loyal to Kitchen Aid products I have always had good experiences with them. Recently I bought this 4 slice toaster. It was more expensive than competing ones but like I said I have always had good experiences with their products. After only a few weeks of using it I started to smell something electrical burning. I figured it was new and just burning off that new smell. About 2 months later I was using it and it made a weird sound and smoke was coming out of it. I immediately unplugged it. I tried to plug it in later and it was dead. I took it back to the store to get a replacement and they said they cannot accept it back because it was used? How else would I know it didnt work? Loved the toaster but this experience was awful. I just want KitchenAid to Stand by their product.

Claimed loss: $149.99

Desired outcome: Honestly I dont want a refund I would honestly just like the toaster replaced. I am going to assume I just got a bad one off the assembly line. The store not taking it back because I used it is ridiculous!

You should reach out to the KitchenAid customer service and explain the circumstances surrounding the toaster. State that you are a customer who has a long history with the organization and that the incident was not overly long ago. Demand a working replacement or a complete refund arguing that it’s a defect. If there is still no resolution, ask to speak to someone else or make a report to an organization that protects the consumer.
