Jewel-Osco Worker; just for someone to talk to him.

Hi,

As I was walking out of the Jewel (Lisle, Illinois) on 6-11-23 at around 11am, a special needs cart worker followed me to my car and started asking my 8 year old daughter all these questions: what is your name, where do you live, what school do you go to, etc. I told him to please leave and he just kept standing there persistent to ask her questions and when I told him to please stop, he just kept repeating, "I was just curious, I was just curious." He would not acknowledge me — just her and kept asking her over and over what school she went to.

Jewel-Osco 30-minute unpaid break

I have a child (16) who works at Jewel in Des Plaines, IL. She has had a couple shifts that are 8 hours and is not getting a 30-minute unpaid break. She is being told that she gets two 15 minutes breaks during her shift. By Illinois state law, she is required to receive an unpaid 30-minute break or a 20-minute rest period that is paid.

This is my child's first job and after questioning them on her break is scared to talk to them due to retaliation. My child also does not want me to contact the manager.

Jewel-Osco Osco 20 percent sticker for each prescription folled

Recently was told that they would not honer the stickers that are good for the 20 percent off coupon when using good rx. I have been using it for approximately half a year. Just filled 4 prescriptions and was told no more. I realize if you have Medicare as stated in your advertising that you can't get the sticker but out of the blue you change the rules with good rx. Very bad customer service. Been shopping this Jewel Osco for over 30 years. Plenty more stores in the area to shop at. This is total B.S.

Jewel-Osco Service from store director

I’ve been doing business with this store location for some time and the management has really changed, they treat certain vendors what service the store piss poor! Those vendors I’ve become acquainted with because they do a great job both stocking and assisting jewels costumers as well as my self. However service had been a little off because of how nasty the store director treats vendors as well as jewels

Own staff, it is so bad the lady receiver is just as nasty as him. Upper management needs to check this store out on 95th and Pulaski in oak lawn, I can’t find certain items because they have the vendors working on a trailer and in a shed I asked for a product they said it must be on the trailer and couldn’t be reached

Desired outcome: Would like for the products to be accessible since there is a restriction in service and also management to treat the staff and vendors better not a plantation or slave ship

Jewel-Osco Store 3546 424 W Division Chicago Dir Steve Palmer

I shopped Jewel on Division on 5/2/23 & was disgusted with the product (over ripe avocados) but mostly the rude & unprofessional personnel!

1. Azia was my cashier. She didn’t speak to me at all! She carried on a conversation with the adjoining cashiers. All 3 of them were laughing & talking about their personal business while customers waited.

2. Azia stopped checking my groceries mid-steam to say her allergies were bothering her and yelled, ‘does anyone have a Kleenex?’ 🙄Unbelievable!

3.A man approached me & other shoppers for money while I was shopping! This should not be allowed in the store. Uncomfortable situation.

4. When leaving store, could hear clerk at Customer Service desk YELLING!

This store is the absolute worst! Obviously, the employees are untrained. The worst I’ve ever encountered! This Store Manager should be fired!

I will NEVER shop this Jewel again!

Jewel-Osco Service and app

4/19/23 once again shopping before work. Sale prices not changed and nobody to check you out. I clipped my coupons in app and yet again not one sale price was included. The self checkout person was there to help me but other people also having issues. This happens every single time, also happens with employees checking you out. If you don’t watch like a hawk you will be over charged on almost everything. I had to leave without my groceries or I would be late for work. I’m done as a customer.

Desired outcome: Fix your issues. Hire people and stop with stupid digital coupons that don’t work.

Jewel-Osco Osco Pharmacy at 17930 Wolf Road, Orland Park, IL 60467

Date and time of incident: 4/13/23 10:30am

My Dr sent in a prescription two days ago and when looking at the app it stated ‘being refilled’. I saw other meds that weee due for refill so I ordered those 4 while on the app.

This morning at 8:15am I called to see when my refills would be ready, I was told one hour. I went to the pharmacy 1 1/2 hours later, so roughly 10:30am.

After giving my name, the pharmacist or tech, Brianne, said she had 4 ready for me. So I asked about the 5th one that I have been waiting on for two days. She came back and said that they do not have it in stock and they ordered more today. I then asked if she could just do a partial as she said she did not have enough so she had some.

She said that she could not do a partial on this medication it would need to be signed off on by Bob and he comes in at 4pm. I said well I know Bob very well as him and Camille are the only two at this location who know what they are doing! I said well can’t you call Bob I know him well and she said no he has to be physically in the store.

I said well then can you transfer my prescription to another Osco that has it in stock to which she replied No, that I would have to call my Dr.

I am so tired of these lazy and snotty under educated techs that do not know how to do their job! I Always have problems with this pharmacy unless it is Bob or Camille. Brianne likes to play god with medication that I have been waiting two days for and they couldn’t call or text that they could not fill it because they did not have it in stock like they are supposed to ? I could have had it sent to another Osco yesterday.

I am filing a full complaint after I am done with this complaint board.

Desired outcome: I would like to speak to Brianne’s manager and ask some questions of why protocol was not followed here.

Jewel-Osco Poor customer service in the deli

2 days ago I was a customer at the jewel on your York road and Butterfield road in Elmhurst Illinois. I have been going to Jewel for more than 40 years and I've been going to this particular Jewel for about 15 years. My background as a police officer and a physician helps narrate my personality. I was at the customer service counter in the deli where I always order my two-piece chicken with fries for 399 every week. The young lady there was very rude as I explained to her I would like the fresh piece of chicken that the cook just placed out there when I was standing right there. The cook turned around and said keep your opinions to yourself sir. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager and I had a conversation and I am not satisfied with the outcome thus far. Jewel-Osco Dogs in store

I shop at your Jewel on 370 N Des Plaines St, Chicago, IL 60661. And I notice you are allowing dogs once again. I don't agree with this due to food being sold and finding hair on my produce. These are not support dogs you can see that. Some of these dogs are big and can attack you I have seen were the dogs get aggressive and the manager does nothing. Not only will the owner be responsible so will Jewel if someone gets hurt.

I can't shop at a store that is dirty and not safe.

Jewel-Osco Harassed by Employee

Jewel-Osco on Waukegan Rd in Glenview, employee Christian Rojas leered at me while I was shopping for groceries. I looked at him and asked “what?” And he responds “don’t say what to me” like he’s reprimanding me. I felt violated by the way he was looking at me and then was shocked and upset that he would treat me so disrespectfully, and like he was better than me. Extremely inappropriate.

Jewel-Osco Signature Select Sea Salt Pita Crackers

Purchased this box of crackers last Friday, March 24th at the Jewel Osco at Roselle and Golf Rd in Hoffman Estates for $4.99. There were approximately 10 whole crackers in the box; the rest were pieces and crumbs which I threw out to the birds since they wouldn't have been something to serve to our guests.

Desired outcome: Refund or replacement box - however, unsure if I might have the same problem with a different box - perhaps this was a processing plant error and others complained??

Horrible customer service. Monotone voice. With tone as if she was not happy to be working. I've had issues in the past with service at this store. I started going to the Carol Stream Jewel instead for groceries. That location has very friendly / happy employees.

Now I'll be switching to their Pharmacy as well.

She should not be working with the public with that tone.

Jewel-Osco Service desk employee

3/15/23, aprox.2:30. I went to Jewel to exchange my 2 Ipass transponders as per the letter from state said. When I approached the desk she was speaking to another employee apparently complaining about her work hours. I had the letter and transponders. but was not aware of the fact that I needed Bar codes. They were not sent, and not on the account letter on computer. She began to tell me what I needed, and I told her I had checked all the options. She began to get upset and would not let me speak! She kept saying in a heated, loud voice, Sorry I can't help you, several times until I had to walk away! It was humiliating to say the least. I realize people are not happy with their jobs, but you are in retail and need to respect and treat customer's better, or don't work in that department! The anger she was feeling because of the problem with someone asking her to work extra hours then spilled over to the customer. Made me not want to return to your store! There are other stores in the area!

Desired outcome: Retrain her to respect customers, and remind her you DO NOT complain about your job to others while on duty when others can hear you!

Jewel-Osco non shoppers gathering in front of 7530 S. Stony Island store selling cigarettes and consuming open cans and bottles of alcohol.

3/11/23 11:30 am 8 to 10 Non shoppers gathering in front of entrance at 7530 S. Stony Island store in Chicago doing the following:

1. blocking incoming traffic into the parking lot

2. Selling cigarettes

3. Consuming open cans and bottles of alcohol.

4. Standing inside store vestibule smoking and congregating.

This situation is on-going.

I brought this to the attention of the store manager on duty. She said that there was nothing they could do. She also said that corporate headquarters hadn't done anything in the past about this situation. She also said that their security could only talk to them. She said that I would have to contact the alder person for that ward.

3/5/23 Six or 7 individuals sitting on crates near the fence inside the parking lot with open containers of alcohol drinking.

Desired outcome: Someone from the regional office needs to come out unannounced and observe this on-going situation. This situation is dangerous and intimidating for those shoppers wanting to come in and shop,

Jewel-Osco Phone order Deli

To whom it may concern,

I would like to bring attention to my experience on February 18th at the Skokie, IL location of Jewel Osco. I went pick up a birthday cake and 2 large pans assorted fried Chicken that had been previously ordered on 2.14.23 scheduled to be picked up at 1:00pm. While driving to the location I received two missed phone calls from an employee’s personal cell phone telling me that the order is ready and that I said I would pick up 11:00am, at the time I didn’t think much of the hasty nature of the phone until I reached the deli. I approached the counter and asked an associate in the deli for Candy, an employee on the other side of the deli yelled out “she went home”, the tone of voice indicated panic as though my son and I were unwelcome. An employee that was helping another customer pointed to where our food was, as we began to reach for our food that was sitting in the warmer where the whole chickens and other premade fried chicken where for the public to grab at the convenience and continue to shop. When I reached to grab our order to put in the shopping cart the employee that pointed out the food, she began to talk to us as though we could not touch anything and she insisted that we had to wait to until she was done with another customer to actually engage with the products being offered; although she had previously showed us where our order was. I began to reach for it, her demeanor became abrasive as though she was dealing with a thief. She began to yell that you have to “pay first, you have to pay first” the employee didn’t want us to go to the bakery located directly across from the deli as we began to walk to the bakery! An unidentified woman came out of nowhere and snatched the cart from my son and demanded we pay first. I went to pay while he got the cake from the bakery. The bakery did not ask for us to pay first! This is clearly racial profiling! That is not the the first time an incident like this has occurred!

Desired outcome: New management at that location! And termination for all employees involved and management as well! The shame I felt in front of all of those people, they were smiling and pulling out phones!

I bought the 8 PC. Special fried chicken today from Jewel on West Galena I, Aurora, IL today and found it is undercooked later in the day. This happens frequently..apparently they have new deli workers who don't know how to fry the chicken. We were told it was to be breaded twice and that hasn't happened in quite awhile. But aside from that, it's also still pink inside.

Jewel-Osco Deli containers

My wife went to the deli to purchase potato salad and other things. When returning home, we found the cheap! container lids had popped open. The containers you're currently using are very flimsy. In fact, they are Garbage! We don't like serving food out of shopping bags. These are the little details that don't warrant customer loyalty. There are just somethings you can't go cheap on.

Desired outcome: Change your containers to a sturdier type for your deli department.

This has no sense.How you can harass and traumatize people without checking camera first, and how you can ask people to open bag without introducing yourself. The guy who ask me to open my bag without checking camera first when I was checking the items out had been Jeff,the evening ma ager.

However, there disrespectful and rude behavior increases. I had the small Dollar Store cotton round in green packaged "Assured" in my bag which is only sold by the Dollar Store,and the evening manager started accusing me for stealing it from Jewel without even for me to have been in the section with the cotton round. My question is How a manager does not know the type of products sold in their store.Cotton Rounds from Jewel ate Signature and not small green package but big package which costs about 3 dollars. Assured brand is a dollar brand sold in the Doar Store. At least, the Jewel manager should know that Signature is very popular brand for Jewel. When I said that I have not been to the cotton balls, all the manager Jeff said was "that's what u say.Is this how a manager should talk? Neither one of them apologized for disrespecting me in front of other customers and abusing me. However,Lisa abusive behavior continued with threatening me that she will call the police if I keep talking and claiming that nothing has happened. Yes,it happened alot. They turned my evening in complete nightmare and were to give me heart attack. For them may mean nothing because that's the way they are but they should check the camera before abusing and accusing and disrespecting people. There behavior has been unacceptable.I accept accountability for their behavior, I would like Lisa to get fired because her disrespectful and abusive behavior has continued for the past 5 years.

Jewel-Osco Osco pharmacy

Whoever is in charge of the pharmacy needs to evaluate their staff and their ability to do their job and tell the truth. I have just spent the last 3 hours of my day which is New Year's Eve playing games with the pharmacy. I called this morning at 9:30 A. M to be told that my prescription would be ready in an hour. After waiting 2 hours I went to go pick it up only to be told it would be another hour. I waited as not to have to go home and come back. After an hour I returned to be told 15 more minutes. Again I waited. When I returned for the 3rd time I was told 20 minutes more, where I then complained about being stalled all day. The girl then informed me "we are working on it as we speak" After several minutes another worker came up and told me he was sorry but they didn't have the medicine in stock! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE? Do you understand how frustrating this is? The real topper is this is Not the first time this has happened here. The exact same thing happened to my husband when I asked him to pick up our son's medication 3 weeks ago! Who is in charge of this pharmacy? People have lives and better things to do than to drive around killing time to pick up medicine that isn't even there. What the hell are you doing? You should be ashamed, a big well known company treating customers with no respect, shame on you Osco.

Desired outcome: I would like a response and for the employees of the pharmacy to be held accountable for lying to the customer.

Went into to get my prescriptions yesterday, and they short counted at Osco in Helena Montana, I didnt check until I got home when I counted the I was 9 pills short. They aren't cooperating, I asked to see the cameras but excuse after excuse

Be careful have them count before you leave.

Jewel-Osco Customer service floral department Skokie IL location

If I can give this Jewel 0 stars I would. I was shopping for flowers today with my elderly mother. Saw a bunch of boquets of roses and was searching for perfect one. Saw mom wandering away and placed the boquet on top of flowers. Keep in mind it weighs nothing its just flowers. I hear someone yelling in the background put those flowers back into water and you broke one of the stems. I looked to see if someone had the nerve to speak to me that way. Look again and its an employee on the phone lol telling me off. Im a customer how dare she speak to me that way and I did not need to put the boquet back into water as I was planning on buying it. I asked her how dare she command me what to do. I dont work for her and told her off. Then I had some creepy pervy Arab that looked like he was going to blow everyone up tells me an option to either buy flowers or get the hell out of the store. No clue who he was. Asked him if he was the manager but he was starting to threaten me. Should have called the police and filed charges against him. Called the manager and reported this rude employee at the flower section of the store. Manager did not offer apologies nothing. Next tomorrow will be report to the corporate lets see how rude you guys will be next week. I dont work for you. If you are having a bad day get over it its not customers problem its yours. Put on a smile during your shift and be appreciative that you still have a job in this lousy economy.
