I bought three different quarterly railway passes on 20 September 2026 from Vashi Railway station (Pass Nos. AFI 53775447, AFI 53775448& AFI 53775449) valid for the period upto 19 December 2026. While the booking clerk at the ticket counter guided me appropriately not to touch passes as ink may spread or pass may damaged, despite best efforts, it has been very difficult to stop ink from spreading and I fear whether railway pass would remain legible until validity period is over. This can cause serious issues to explain to ticket checker and may cause financial damage to the travellers. My recommendation to Indian railways is that the railway pass should be printed with ink that does not spread or get damaged so that nobody can question their validity
Recommendation: Please use right kind of printers for printing railway passes so that ink spreading issues do not arise
